      Suddenly, the *********************** has decided to impose an additional $2,400 in ******************** on top of my existing coverage through the ****************** The problem lies in the fact that no one at this company seems to answer the phone. It appears their strategy is to frustrate customers to the point of giving in.For the past three days, I've been tirelessly trying to get someone on the line, even requesting to speak with a manager. However, each time I ask for a manager, I'm placed on hold, and then it seems they simply disappear. I am left wondering where this sudden requirement for additional insurance came from after ************************************** the last 24 years, they have never demanded this coverage, and now they intend to add it to my loan without explanation

      I bought a car using GTE Financial in late 2022. Since then, they have added car insurance to my original policy, increasing my payments exponentially when I already had car insurance. I've been attempting communication over the past six months to resolve this issue, including repeatedly sending documentation supporting my claims to have insurance, having my insurance company call GTE, reaching out with supervisors and customer service. These attempts have been unsuccessful, and the policy is never altered. They are currently expecting $1,611.44 for the month of October. My agreement with them was ****** per month. I have receipts indicating payments and had a large overdraft on my account from April of 2023. None of my money has been reimbursed. Up until this month, I have always made payments on time.

She asked for a letter stating the dates I already had insurance to eliminate the **** When I sent the declarations page to her, she stated that she wanted a written letter from my insurance company stating that the car would've been covered in event of total loss. ** referenced her back to the declarations page, but she claimed this was not enough. When I asked for her supervisor, I was informed that she isn't there, and that I should call back on 10/16/2023.

      9.5.23 Penalty of $98.34 from early withdrawal. Issues:1) 'Certificate Disclosure' is not readily available online, creating a situation where customers would have to spend an unreasonable amount of time and effort to learn the specifics of fees/penalties. I currently do not have access to the certificate disclosure which would have told me exactly how much I would have been penalized. The penalties and fine print are so extensive and convoluted that it was beyond the ability of GTE to respond via message center. It was only after being put on hold for an hour and talking to a phone representative (who had to spend several minutes researching before knowing the answer) that I learned what the penalties are, and how they are calculated. 2) There was no prior warning of what the fees would have been just before closing the ********** Fee/penalty is far greater than other credit unions.4) GTE phone representative told me that fees were 180 days of EARNED dividends. The $98.34 fee was far greater than the dividends I had earned since opening the account ($34.41).

      Based on the balance in your share certificate of $5,000 at a dividend rate of ****%, the total interest earned in 180 days would have been $105.71. The disclosure does state that principal could be invaded if there are insufficient dividends available to fulfill the penalty requirement. I have included the verbiage from the disclosure below. At this time, no refund is available as the penalty was calculated correctly. 

      Early Withdrawal
      Withdrawals before the maturity date are subject to an early withdrawal penalty. 
      The credit union may require up to 60 days written notice prior to any intended 
      withdrawal in accordance with federal credit union bylaws. The penalty is 
      calculated as a forfeiture of part or all of the dividends. Withdrawals within six 
      days of opening a certificate will be assessed a penalty of seven days dividends 
      which may invade principal. The penalty applies to the amount withdrawn each 
      time a withdrawal is made, and is based on the dividend rate in effect at the time 
      of the withdrawal. The penalty will equal 90 days of dividends for accounts with 
      terms of 12 months or less, and 180 days of dividends for account with terms 
      greater than 12 months. If dividends are insufficient to cover any applicable 
      penalties, there is the possibility of a principal reduction.

Thanks for providing me with the previously elusive disclosure, but that would have been way more appropriate to provide it BEFORE the penalty rather than AFTER. It would also be helpful if that information was available online, as is the standard procedure for honest, transparent credit unions and banks.

      My mom passed away August 30th 2023,she currently lived in *******. I reside in ***********. I have been trying to get everything taken care of since her death. I have emailed the bank six times and they all have been returned and rejected. So I contacted the customer service department and was sent an email from them. In regards to enclosing the death certificate and pic ID. And only for it to be returned with the same message. I have to get my mother's ashes shipped out and I would greatly appreciate it if I could at least get access to some of the money. I am the beneficiary on her account but I can't seem to make progress with anyone. I'm really sorry but I can't afford everything on myself. Please either allow me to use the debit card or close the account and send me the money from it. I can't just walk into the bank because I'm 10 hours away.

      GTE Financial Federal Credit Union failed to give us any communication access and communication barrier because of my deaf preferred the communication through emails instead of leaving answering machine messages and they refused to use any emails for the purposes. They kept calling me while I was on drive for delivering the foods to the customers through Shipt. I bought a brand new 2020 ****** Pathfinder in November 3, 2020 and sent new vehicle info through mobile app of Esurance auto policy holder to replace my 2017 ****** Rogue. In a few days later, they asked us if we wanted a renew policy for 6 months and replied no just left it in a few weeks because we changed a new policy under Geico. We have been paid the auto payments on time for 9 months. They put GTE ************** costing $1500 on my new SUV. We kept sending our GEICO auto policy where they kept asking us about the policy info. They decided to repo my SUV in August third of week, 2021. Finally, they sent us an email with explanation. We thought someone stole my SUV at first then got the mail delay in the slot. We can hardly get through their phones on answering machines and please leave a message. They filed the court case against me for not paying $14,424.68 and sold my SUV through the auction. We are so upset and frustrated.       A negative star is where this all starts. I have banked with them since I was 12, now 29. They have unforgivable overdraft fees even if and when it is not client error. Loyalty means nothing to them even when there is proof that the charges were never suppose to happen. They have gone as far as to suggest that I seek their insufficient funds be cover by other merchants instead of reversing fee or blocking the charge. Second hang up; I have had to call in on fraudulent charges at least 2x a year in past 5 years when this account exclusively remains a autopay account and it continues to happen. Their security is week and their representatives are miserable to work with. I have had enough and closed all of my accounts with them. Do you think they fought for my business, nope . Good ridden .

      I am rejecting this response because:

      GTE representatives are unable to pardon two NSF fees that were triggered by a withdrawal from PayPal. I have a written response from PayPal, acknowledging these fees that were not supposed to go through, and  GTE refused the refund or obtaining the letter.
      I was advised by the (1) respective to seek a refund from Paypal. Since Paypal did not retrieve a payment, they were not going to give me more money $35.

      In addition;

      Since Aug 30th 2023, Ive been trying to close my accounts. One uninformed (2)representative said I owed $25 and once paid I could close it. I did my own investigation and I called back and it turned out that the bank owed me $25. For almost a week now, (3&4) representatives from the credit card department have had a hard time trying to get a $25 credit back to me and after calling two more times, we are in the same place.
      That would be the final step to closing the credit card and savings account with GTE thus, ending our relationship.

      Gte will not work with me to get me car back, they refuse to redeem the car that was repossessed for only $2000 due, 89 days past due but payments were being made of $500, I have offered to pay advanced, I offered to pay everything I need plus, & they still refuse and say I need to pay full loan due to not answering our calls. The last letter received said it was $1600, in mid July. They came and repo car and I never got a collection letter before hand. They seem happy to repo the car, I have never heard of a bank wanting to keep a repo over not answering calls. They didnt even have updated references on my account. I feel because of my low interest rate of 4% which does not benefit them theyre refusing to work with me. My credit history and score prove that this has never happened to me, I fell in between jobs and running a business,I made $500 each month, insurance never lapsed,I told them I can send them proof they dont want anything, they dont want to help me. Its 2023 & right now with inflation people run in to tough times economically. I dont understand how for $2000 and missing phone calls could allow them to not want to work it out, when I am willing to pay what is necessary and a month or 2 more, anything. The guy actually sounded happy no empathy what so ever, and he even told us I usually dont speak to people this calm and respectful of course not we are human, we understand, and we are willing to do what it takes and although you refuse to help we arent going to speak to you any other way. We are TRYING, and it shows. I just feel like we hit a brick wall with ****** and there was no way around it. But its literally an issue that could be resolved and he just doesnt feel like it, over not answering the phone. Which they only had my number on file correct. There has to be more that can be done in this situation that fell out of our hands. If its the 4% interest I have than say that, but that shows I only fell into a tough spot not long term.

      Great Bank, although for years I have been asking to remove a late payment for 2018 that wasnt my error.       I am rejecting this response because:

      Nothing has been resolved. I have been given the typical hand-off, all the while the clock is ticking, late fees are growing larger every day, in GTE's favor, of course. Killing time, so they can charge off my debt, and throw me in the pit of the ******************* which will attack and rip me apart like the vulchers they are required to be.

      Now, nearly a month later, of phone calls every other day of pointless discussions, I am back exactly where I started. adding even more psychological stress to the point of having a lifelong struggle with anxiety to resurface after 45 years spent trying everything to gain control of it. Which I finally was able to do just three years ago. Now, it has resurfaced and with even more intensity. So much so, I have had to return to taking those awful, mind dulling pharmaceuticals and two trips to the *** thinking I was having a heart attack.

      So, I am not written off as someone who maybe bought too many 72" Flat Screens, I didn't. I haven't watched television since ****. Anyway, reckless use of credit did not put me in my situation. It was COVID-19.

      I have been with GTE for over 18 years.

      I have deposited approximately 1.5 Million Dollars into there bank, with a total return of interest that would fall short of being able to pay for a medium size pizza.

      Two car loans, 0 late payments, paid in full.

      A $10,000 personal/business loan: 0 late payments, paid in full.

      Two Credit Cards, one personal, one for business. Zero late payments, active utilization, One at 15%, the other at 10%, with both rising interest rates even though I had never missed one payment, often making two to three payments in a month and all the while maintaining a Credit Score between 780 and 815.

      After draining my savings, selling a nice car to buy a running car, and using the cash to pay my debt. Selling off vintage guitars, meant for my son, classic *** wheels no longer made...everything worth money and valuable, and not just in dollars, but in its personal value.

      Thank God I'll be dead in 25 years. My only fear now is knowing my 17 year old will soon be entering a completely twisted new world structure, where total disregard of the the very people who make it possible for them to collect a paycheck every week.

      BBB is unable to locate the business.
      on Friday june 30th early evening i called GTE in **** ** and explained I could not get to the bank to withdraw my social security account of $1900.00. account is kept open for social security money deposit. every month i go to the bank on the 3rd to withdraw.This day I was not able to get in and being a long holiday weekend I needed the cash. I also had bills that were due .called GTE and a woman answered I asked if it was possible to have the money sent to my bank. I just opened an account [2] weeks prior. She said "no problem". She said I see your account and did I want it all sent. She never asked for my routing or account number. I questioned the fact twice and her answer was" i have the info". I said i did not remember giving the info to any one as I was still in the process of setting up. . Her response was "its done as we speak, anything else I can help you with"?I started to say how baffled i was and she hung up . The next several days bills were due on auto pay.and I also was writing due checks. I tried to use my debit card at **** club it was denied! ! At the gas station "insufficient funds" on and on, finally realized money was never deposited!!! July 5th I was in South shore bank [My new bank] explaining the situation, they were shocked. Advised me to go to GTE [which i planned] They GTE] treated me very rude as if I were making it up. They swung their arm in the air and said 'i don't know why they would tell you something like that. We don't do anything except money wires Then they turned on their heels and walked away. No advise who to tell , what to do NOTHING it was obvious they did not believe me. I told them about writing checks that *** bounce, they said nothing..A young male works there listened for a minute ,said nothing then walked away. I don't know whose who there' they all seem to do same job and don't offer any help; i did get overdraft fees which they will have to settle with me. ************************* the bank involved is ******************* BBD address.
