      I went to the ******* location looking for some guide in how to refinance my car with GTE Financial. I encounter the most pleasant experience that I ever had. *********************** was the official that assisted me thru the whole process. Forget about the process and lets focus in the best experience I had with an Institution. ****** went above and beyond my expectation. Very professional, very knowledgeable, very caring, she listened to what my needs were and she focus in that and only that. Being a member of GTE and I never was so pleased and grateful for the way I was treated. *********************** is a great asset for the Institution and a great employee. I never give reviews, but this experience have to be share with the people, so the know how good they treat you. Best of all everything was handle with respect and passion. Great job *****!!!! Keep it up!!!! I wish they were more employees like you. The manager of the ******* Center was very eager of assisting me, and very professional, smiling with her eyes full of pleasure just because she was helping a member. Beautiful lady. Then she introduce me to this official *************************** which I hope she receive the well deserved recognition. Thank you GTE.

      First let me start my saying I regret that the ***** dealer I went to buy my car from ran my credit and this bank picked me up. **************** is okay but getting a hold of someone is a process that takes more time than I prefer to spend on the phone. The app and online banking is a joke. It's confusing and needs a complete over haul. I just want to make my payment and I have to call and be walked through the app each time because it sucks!!! I am actually very upset that I even have to deal with company till my car is paid off. I am also being charged for paper statements even though a rep I spoke with asked me if I wanted to move to electronic I said yes" she said okay ill take care of that". A month later what do you know **** statement fee is applied to my account. One more thing you must talk to someone to change this setting because it does not allow you to through the app that is completely useless. I look forward to the run around each month to just make a payment for the next 12 years??

I took care of the $6 fee and also made sure that everything is properly coded to avoid the fee going forward. We do have the ability to setup an external account via the app or online banking to make your month payments. If you chose to setup automatic payments from another financial institution, we would be happy to help you with this.

      I reside in the UK and I have been using GTE online banking for many years . Things started to change for me when I had to answer a security question each time I logged in even though I clicked the button to remember the device. I was told that this was because I was located outside of the USA/Canada. A trifle annoying, but I could live with that. I had been an external account to transfer funds from my GTE accounts to a multi-currency account and from there to my UK bank account. This facility was withdrawn with no notice, again because I was located in the UK. In addition, even though my profile was set appropriately, email alerts (such as activity in my Message Center mailbox) were not received. I used online chat on several occasions to try to get these things rectified, but even with "I have escalated it to my management so you should hear something", nothing happened. In the end I decided to telephone "Member Care". The agent had no clue as to how to answer my queries, so she eventually called on a supervisor. He wasn't much better and couldn't even sympathise with my position. I said that my GTEFCU had given absolutely no regard to their member who resided outside the UK/Canada and went along with changes that affected them without any warning. In this modern day their forms for change of personal details do not allow for any overseas addresses or phone numbers.

      I do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Since we switched over to a different system, members that live outside of the US will not be able to access the external account transfer feature. One suggestion is to use a VPN to login as if you were in the US, this may allow you to access the external account feature. Since we do use a vendor for this program, it could still have some issues even with a VPN. I know the inconvenience this has caused and hopefully this will allow you to access the feature.

      This bank carries the loan for one of our cars. They use a 3rd party company to confirm insurance, some how that company messed up on the proof and said we did not have insurance for 3 months. We had full coverage before the car was driving home and provided that the same day. When we switched insurance providers they sent us a letter I immediately provided proof of the new policy. I think this is when the error occurred but it was their error we did everything asked as soon as it was asked. We have provided proof of current insurance and from the old company twice already. They added over 2000 dollars to the loan and the payment went up 300 dollars a month. We have called repeatedly to get it fixed each time the send us the the 3rd party company saying its not there problem. the company says its fixed and the money should be refunded but it has not been. We just had to make a 850 dollar car payment we were not expecting to keep from defaulting. No one seems to be able to help us and we keep getting tossed around. Stay away from GTE financial if you don't want headaches.

      Constant problems with signing into account, always receive an ERROR message. Unable to check on account virtually. I was with GTE for 13 years when they started charging me service fees that I never approved when I first signed up. I never received notice of the changes either. If cash is deposited or transfer from savings is moved into account while a charge is PENDING, you are still charged a NSF fee of $35, NOT WHEN IT WAS POSTED. Tired of the bank and all of its new charges. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BANK TO ANYONE!!!!!!!

      Yesterday I received an escrow account disclosure notice from GTE financial dated 1/31/2023 stating that I would be getting a large refund on my mortgage because they had taken out too much for the escrow account, and that my monthly payments would be significantly lower from now on. Hooray! I was overjoyed because I have had a lot of extra expenses lately.Except that when I went online I found an email saying to disregard the letter, because it had been sent in error and had incorrect information. A corrected enclosure is to be sent sometime "in the next few weeks".I have had problems with GTE before for various things. Apparently they are now including causing emotional distress to their members. These people do not know what they are doing on many levels. I think they should have to pay interest on the amount they owe me due to the delay.

      Thank you for your inquiry regarding this matter. Due to an error, on 01/31/2023 escrow account analysis statements were prematurely sent to GTE Financial members,some of which contain incorrect information. Immediately upon becoming aware of this issue, GTE Financial contacted the affected members via the preferred communication channel selected by the member, and also began correcting the erroneous escrow account analysis statements. GTE Financial is in the process of generating the corrected statements, which will be sent to members within the required reporting timeframe.

      I assume this error affected everyone who has a mortgage with GTE Financial. I would like to know how such an error happened, and what is being done to prevent such errors in the future. And what is the 'required reporting timeframe'?

      GTE Financial is an absolute scam. I purchased a car with a dealership who used GTE as a loan provider. I was told I needed insurance transferred before I could be approved for the loan. I did exactly that... However, it appeared that my coverage was insufficient to which GTE provided me no information as to what was needed. 6 months later.... I have a charge for almost $7,000 for "insurance". No claims, never as much as a letter from GTE stating they MAY purchase insurance on my behalf ( I don't know anything about insurance). They are crooks and liars. now I am having to pay 3,000 for retroactive insurance and have already started litigation. This is frau in every sense of the term and I hope to catch them in their scheme. Never will I ever recommend or be a customer of GTE ever again. Shameful business practice.

      If I could give less than a 1 star, I would. We have had a car loan for 8 months with GTE and for all those months, it has been a nightmare. From having to jump through hoops with insurance coverage for months and now with updating where our funds are taken from to make the dang payment....I would never ever bank here or had a loan here if I knew this was going to be how they handle business. And forget about going in person to their locations, they all have tv's to talk to tellers and "work out our issues". **** a joke of a place. You have been warned! Once I can refi my loan, I am out of here!

      GTE is a predatory institution that makes it as difficult as possible to make SIMPLE CHANGES to your account like changing the pay date, making an advanced payment, or getting a sliver of help from customer service. Terrible company, do not give them your money. I will be re-financing my auto loan ASAP just to get away from this terrible company. I don't care if I have to get a worse deal on my loan, GTE is that bad.

      They took my MINOR SONS MONEY AFTER HIS MOTHER PASSED AWAY and told me there is nothing they can do to return it. She was the adult signer that is required for a minor childs account and when she passed away unexpectedly at 39 years old, they used my sons account as an overdraft to cover an automatic debit bill that she had set up. This happened before we were able to get the death certificate and have her accounts closed and my name placed on his account instead of hers. I have been calling, emailing and stopping into the branch for 3 weeks while they dragged this out and keep telling me they are trying but its always another department or person thats not in the branch to look you in the face when they tell you Sorry we are unable to return your sons $150 because of right to offset. How heartless to keep a childs entire paycheck from his job at the grocery store when hes got enough to deal with losing his mother. I am beyond disgusted and will be closing all accounts with this cold hearted institution since all they care about is money or profit. How can you tell me somebody, somewhere in this organization wont do the right thing for a 16 year old boy who had to pay his mothers final bill. Disgusting business practice. Do not give this company any business.
