There is something deeply troubling happening in their Medical records department. Requests for records are taking up to 180 days for my attorney to get records-- I'm the patient and this is my representative!! Are they intentionally not hiring staff for medical records requests?? Are they needing new management to better handle hiring folks? What on EARTH is going on?????

On May 18 2025 I was at the jwing in room **** and the nurse was basically laughing at my pain when I asked her for pain medication I ask Emily the nurse that day to contact the doctor so they can approve another dose of morphine since I'm have an abscess in my spine and it's excruciating pain. She told me if I could take some extra strength Tylenol. I stated NO that won't help me at all. And she said she couldn't contact the doctors in charge. Then she started asking me questions basic questions that they ask while they are at their computer and she says will u prefer to be called Rose or Rosa? I stated to be called Rose since I'm an American citizen but because of my brown skin she kept calling me Rosa after I clearly stated to be called Rose and she kept calling me Rosa while she smiled and laughed like it was a joke while still denying me the pain meds I then proceeded to ask her for her last name which she refused to give me. I then asked her for the supervisors name and she said she would go get her that she was working that day. She disappeared for and hour or so and came back just to keep smiling and laughing while calling me Rosa because of my ethnicity. With no supervisor in site and no pain meds. Offering me Tylenol again. My main concern was my excruciating pain from the abscess on my spine. Never have I been treated humiliated because of my ethnicity. This hospital employs racist people that will make fun of ur pain and race. Stay away find another hospital for your healthcare needs. Plus they never changed my bedside commode that was due for a change I was on my period also and had defecated in the commode I had my boyfriend who was witness to all this treatment change out the commode he put gloves on and changed out the bag in the commode for me. Very terrible people employed by this hospital not to mention racist and unprofessional.

*** (****) Tampa General Hospital and majority of their ER staff. These ****** lied to me saying I was 8-10 weeks pregnant and that my baby had no heartbeat However, the ultrasound in medical records says I was only 6 weeks & 2 days pregnant and clearly said its too early to detect a fetal heartbeat. Some of your providers violated my privacy rights discussing and spewing my health information all over a public lobby without my information. I was threatened to be arrested because your medical providers refused to understand I was in pain and kept denying me healthcare. Then, I refused further/repeated testing prior to surgery permanently removing my baby. I was bullied into not keeping the remains because no one told me there was a fee until right before surgery. And then, Dr. ***** or whatever the resident name was like all women this stage of pregnancy have us discard of the remains. I cant wait until each idiot that was apart of my care is before God on judgement day to answer for why you all lied and played with my health plus violated my rights.

I don't typically write reviews, but I wanted to highlight the good and bad. TGH has well-trained doctors and professionals who do amazing work and they seem ahead of the game as far as the procedures and treatment offered at this facility. However, being in the hospital for a long period is taxing and basically terrible. I'm a medical professional myself, and it was shocking to experience the treatment from nurses and other medical assistants. I'm not bashing anyone, as many family members are nurses and medical professionals. However, the comments they made to me were disgusting. This was not just one nurse, but most of them. One said that I was "a waste" and was angry because she thought I pulled out my IV (which I didn't ). I had a bed alarm due to my condition and tried not to call the nurses at all, but one had to use the restroom. I could see them chatting at the desk while I was waiting and the nurse told me to just "go" if they didn't get to me in time. I'm sorry, but I'm a grown woman and won't just "go" on myself. Only when people found out what I do for a living did they start to treat me like I was somewhat human. There were maybe 2 nurses in the course of 3 months who actually did their job, but the rest were "a waste." When I reviewed my records, I found that there were many mistakes, sloppy, and blatant parts of my history that were not accurate. I greatly appreciate medical professionals and nurses and it is a tough job, however, if I treated my patients the way I was treated, I wouldn't have any. This is a great hospital for procedures and treatment, but the bedside manner was terrible across the board.

Part 1: I visited this hospital 6/14/24, in the evening as me, my baby and my sister was about to go to my car to get something we headed towards the exit and notice there was alot of people there, we didn’t notice why until we stepped outdoors with everyone who was moving to look and see what was going on and it was a whole thunderstorm. So with everyone else we were going to back up and wait with them inside until it stopped raining. I began to talk to a nurse who was helping me earlier that day and while i was in the middle of having a conversation with the nurse this skinny security guard literally interrupted our conversation and told me out of every one i needed to walk all the way around the building to re-check in. I proceeded to explain that we did what everyone else did but she didn’t care so I eventually just walked away to check in the hospital. As we were walking away the security lady proceeded to say in a snarking way the direction on how to get to the front of the building to check in when its very obvious because thats how we got into the building the first time. The next day 6/15/24 there was a different security guard by the name of *******(last name), he is a light brown skinned tall man who looks between the ages of 45-55. That day we get there and the Hawkins proceed to dramatically tell me and my sister to stop walking before we get to the metal detector and me and sister stop (i also have my baby with me and my baby stroller). Hawkins then proceeds to walk and stand extremely close to me (he was hovering over me) i am 5’1. He then ask aggressively “CAN I GET THAT” repeatedly. I don’t say anything and i look up at ******* and ask him “can you get what?” In a confused way. He then takes my baby stroller with my baby sitting in it without my permission and just took my baby and moved him to the other side of the metal detector. He then tells me and my sister to walk through the metal detectors.Part 2: My sister and I then walk through the metal detectors to the bag check area as were waiting to get my bags checked the security guard (*******) gets extremely close to me again and is hovering over me (51 female) and says i need to check your bag 3-4 times i look at him and say can you please back up you are to close to me i dont feel safe i font feel comfortable please back up he doesnt care what i have to say and he keeps asking about my bag. I then let him know when he get back behind the table where he is supposed to be then i will put my bag on the table. I told him im waiting for you to get back behind the table he then goes behind the table to look through our bags and we moved on to the check in. Later that night around 8:15pm-8:20pm we were checking in again and the same security person is checking visitors bags (*******). He sees us coming and in an unnecessary manner asks me how do u want to do this repeatedly so I move the stroller around myself this time and then me and my sister walk through the metal detector it was a long line so he let everyone else go through but this time every other person had a bag and he didnt ask them to wait so he can check there bag (they had similar regular-gray/brown ******* bags as did i at the bottom of the stroller). We then put our bags on the table and i realized the unfairness and asked to speak with a supervisor (so i can express my concerns- he didnt know specifically why i wanted to speak to a supervisor i just asked for one). He called for the supervisor. In the process of waiting for a supervisor he then began to get a little aggressive with his words and getting loud and i asked him why are you getting loud and aggressive if im speaking to u calm there is no need to be loud. I ask him how long will it be until the supervisor get here and he replies hes on the way. Eventually i did let ******* know that other people had similar bags but he did not care and began mocking & antagonizing me. Part 3: I step off to the side until i can speak to the supervisor. Eventually the team lead of security comes his name is ***** (last name) he is a short black bold man maybe 5’3 or 5’4. He comes to me and ask me what’s going on so i tell him everything i just written down here. While im speaking to him he has a smile on his face as if im telling a joke or a funny story. Which was very frustrating because i have just been harassed for no reason i would expect some type of concern or to at least be taken seriously. (not one time did i ever raise my voice or yell at anyone i remained calm the entire time). The way the team lead security ******* made me feel in the moment was that there weren’t going to be any type of disciplinary towards ******* and that basically speaking to him would be pointless. So i ask ***** how would u feel if u were a female and a tall male is invading your space and hovering over u making u feel uncomfortable he then says im not a female so im not going to answer that. In the middle of the conversation i came to the realization that i was never heard, gonna be taken seriously, and nothing was going to be resolved. I let ***** know i wanted to write an a grievance and a complaint against the ******** He then says i can give u a number to call and try to brush me off. He then tries to misinterpret what i say and mix words around so he dont have to gove me the phone number eventually he ask again if i would like the patient relations phone number i say yes. He walks off to go get it and me and my sister head to the desk to check in. I check in and ***** comes to me and quickly whispers something while giving me a card. So i ask him to speak a little louder please because i could not hear him. He does so and wrote his name down with the other security guard. ***** then with a smile on his face ask me in a snarking way is there anything else i can help u with. Part 4: So ***** has asked me if there is anything else i can help him with and i took that opportunity to let him know that i didn’t feel heard or taken seriously (through all of this i was calm the entire time) and he then aggressively reply back and calls me “Condescending” then says that how i felt towards Hawkins is how he feels towards me and walks away laughing at me so then we walk away. Him saying that made me furious but I proceeded to go to my mom who was the patient and we spoke to the head nurse and the nurse administrator for the night and they haven’t done anything. I left that night and went back within 12hrs of the incident and they wouldn’t let me back in to see my mother. They have all of these cameras but haven’t reviewed any of the tapes yet to see what i had to experience with my 12 year old sister. I asked repeatedly asked them to check the cameras. This place is unhinged, they protect people who treat people badly and dont care they never came to me to get my side of the story they never even tried to get a report of the incident of my harassment from Hawkins. This situation is not to be taken lightly. This could have happened to anyone’s daughter or sister. who knows how many women this man has been harassing and his Coworkers and lead security is covering for him. They keep wanting me to speak to someone specific but no one knows who that person is or when they will be there. This hospital needs to go under a serious investigation.

I received my surgery on October 31st 2023. This was a day surgery at TGH Women Department. I paid a payment on account which was towards my out of pocket amount prior to surgery. My insurance has requested information from TGH to settle the claim and is still waiting for the additional information from TGH. We are now end of February. Not good.

Was at *************** the past two days. Denied meds. Told I should be admitted to see a cardiologist. Never happened nor would they address it. IT became a medically supervised med adjustment. IT had NOTHING to do what I was there for. Actually not really an adjustment but a withdrawal of meds with no medical supervision would be a better description. Lied to that someone contacted them telling them I should be on oxygen. That person says no I did not. They wouldn't even be able to talk to me without you or my healthcare surrogate. SCARY PLACE. I witnessed issues not just with my care but others as well. Walked out to save my life.

Tampa General is run by a gaggle of circus clowns with Erin in Patient Advocacy as the bright red bulb nose. What kind of hospital starves a nursing mother who is only 2 weeks post partum for over 48 hours, constantly move her back on the schedule to get her surgery done, and deny her sufficient pain management for an infection? You guessed it! That is TGIH. Even in the Trauma center, you will likely wait hours before being given relief. Don't bother with patient advocacy, you're going to leave voice mail or e-mail that they may or may not ever actually get to. When we were here a few weeks ago to deliver our kiddo, we needed their assistance that never came. Five days, three phone calls and two e-mail attempts to reach them. nothing. For such a "highly rated" hospital, they sure are bad at the basics. In summary, if you need emergency help go almost anywhere else.
