Delintz Dryer Vent Cleaning Service performed a dryer vent cleaning at my residence on Wednesday March 6, 2024. During the process, the technician bent back the top of the vent cover. He later told me that he needed to do that to access the vent with his hose. He also told me he would bend in back into place and tape it. He completed the job and as far as I could tell, all was well. Afterwards, I climbed on the roof and saw that the vent was obviously irreparably damaged. Aside from negatively impacting my homes appearance, it creates the potential for leaks and is unacceptable to my HOA. I had to contact a roofing company to have the vent replaced at a cost of $650. I am demanding reimbursement for this amount due to the damage caused by their employee. I have attached a pic showing the damaged vent cap as well as the original invoice from Delintz and the invoice from ******** Roofing for the dryer vent replacement.

We certainly addressed the complaint. Rarely, it is necessary to bend back a hood in order to send our cleaning tool down. We certainly secure the hood with metal tape when the work is complete. After the concern about water intrusion our technician went back to client and used a water hose to prove water would not penetrate the taped hood.

I am rejecting this response because:

It is ludicrous that they feel it is okay to destroy a vent and tape it back together and that makes it okay. This is my property that they destroyed, and I had to pay $650 to repair. There was no offer on their part to replace the damaged vent. Taping it together does not make it as it was. It was an eye sore and negatively impacted my house's appearance. I live in a deed restricted community and the *** would not allow a taped-up vent that is visible to all.

    Sincerely,
