On March 2020, *********************** had a new roof installed by Magnifying Group ***** ********************** Services, which came with a five-year warranty. Earlier this year, a hole developed in the roof, and despite the companys claim of having fixed it, the ceiling subsequently collapsed in the garage, causing extensive water damage.The owner of the company, *************************, has repeatedly refused to address the situation and repair the damage, even though it falls under the warranty period. Prior to ****** going into rehab for a broken femur, he repeatedly contacted the office and *****, only to be ignored. *********************** have attempted to contact ****************** multiple times. When ****** went into the facility after his surgery, he stopped attempting to make contact. He recently returned home from the rehab facility and spoke with ****************** last week, only to be hung up on. I, their daughter, also reached out this week, giving ****************** a 48-hour notice to respond, but again, he disconnected the call and failed to follow through.*********************** are on a fixed income, ****** is battling leukemia, and Jeans eyesight is deteriorating from Macular Degeneration. They are in a vulnerable state and unable to bear the financial burden of additional repairs that wouldn't have happened if the alleged repair had been done correctly. They desperately need assistance to compel Magnifying Group **** to honor their warranty and prevent further damage to their home - especially with the upcoming hurricane season.We believe that your intervention and coverage of their plight could provide the necessary pressure on Magnifying Group **** to take responsibility and resolve this matter justly. *********************** story is not only about a consumer rights violation but also highlights the struggles faced by the elderly and those with health challenges.Business response

As of today 06/27/2024, I spoke with ******************* the daughter of the owner of the property and I am going to arrange to get a roofer to the property to get this matter handle. Sorry, for all the inconvenience and the hard time. I will do my best get this handle.

I am rejecting this response because: although they coming to repair the roof (6/28/94), until they fully repair the ceiling in the garage that collapsed because of the improper repair the first time of the hole in the roof, this case is not closed. ***** is an absolutely sweetheart and apologized for her boss's unprofessional behavior of hanging up on my father and I, and is diligently working with me to get this issue fully resolved. I will be happy to close the file once both the roof AND the damaged ceiling in the garage is repaired/replaced.

I am rejecting this response because while I appreciate them working to getting someone out to get the ceiling repaired, until the ceiling IS repaired, I do not want this case to be closed. Once someone is assigned to repair the damage, and the work is completed, I will gladly email an update and close the case. I am hoping this will be in the August at the latest.

Tonight, Wednesday September 20th, at approximately7 pm, one of Magnify Groups concrete trucks was servicinga house on ***************** in **************. The trucks were blocking the road but moved over when I needed to pass on the street. I was glad they moved over as I was late taking my 2 grandchildren home. The passenger in the truck was a white male. I was unable to see the driver.A few minutes up the road, I noticed the same truck tailing me extremelyclosely. As I was headed north on 175 and merging onto *************************************************************************************************************** the right-hand side merge lane.I laid on my horn, but it didn'thelp. Fortunately, I was able to stay on the road and not hit the retaining wall. The MG truck continued to push too close to my rear enduntil I sped up and got away.The driver of the the vehicle put me AND MY 2 GRANDCHILDREN in grave danger. This is absolutely unacceptable and I need to speak with the owner of this company.Thank you for your attention to this very important matter!Business response

i talk to a man in the bbb on the phone and he said to file a **mplaint on the roofing **. ************************* was down in ************** saying he was fixing roof for his **. magnify group *** roofing and **nstruction services. i hired him for the roof and the other work the house needed. he fix everything thing,but my front and side doors. he order them from the ********** store in *********** **.{he live in *****}.on jan 26,2023. he said the door would take 2 months to get in.i started calling him in march. we talk a **uple of weeks the he did not answer. for his 2 different emails. a **uple of weeks go buy and say he **ming every sunday with the doors. never happen, then no answer on email. he has his address lists as ******************* ***** and **** ************** *********** **. i call the ************** sheriffs office and had a case number ********** and talk to **************. all the phone number say he doesnot live there. there sould be something the police can do because he was employ buy the roofing ** and saying it was his business.i am out $3500. I had spoken to ******************* back when her roof was being worked on and she ask me about her doors I had informed her that is not in our contract and ******* never informed of about that. We only did her roof and soffit as per her contract which is attached to this response. That money that she gave him for the doors we got nothing from it. Yes, at the time he was working with us when we were doing the roof but after that, we cut tight with him and it was last year. You had called me at the beginning of the year and asked about ******* and I had informed you that he wasn't working with us anymore. ******************* called last week and ask for information about him and I helped and gave her information about him. You stated that he said that he was the owner but in Sunbiz it's my boss's names ************************* and ************************. This has nothing to do with our company. I am rejecting this response because: AT THE **** ******* WAS WORKING FOR THEIR CO. HE WAS DRIVING THEIR TRUCK AND SAID IT WAS HIS CO.DOING ROOF AND CONSTRUCTION WORK. I understand but I had informed you that we didn't have a contract with nothing to do with the doors only re-roof that it was done and completely with our company. I said in the previous response that yes he was working with us I didn't deny it. I did tell you back when you had told me about the doors that we had nothing to do with that matter because we don't have a contract for that matter we were never told about any doors or any other repairs, only that we had to replace your roof and that what we did. I apologized for the matter but ******* was even fired before we finish the roof in your house and I had informed you as well. You kept going thru him. March-28-2022 Amount I paid was ********* The business is supposed to replace roof.The roofing company closed 2 vent on the roof I think one was for one bathroom and the other one is the vent dryer vent . I soon they replace the roof the dryer stop working I call the dryer warranty 2 times and they look at it and they said the dryer was good, They told me to call a company for cleaning the dryer duct. I call the cleaning dryer people and when they look at it the say the roofing company closed that vent. I call the roofing company one of the employee name **** went he never really look to the problem he said he is leaving I asking if he can turn the dryer on and go to the the roof to see and he said he is not coming back until today the company is playing games they said they will come and never show up.. I don't trust them . Until today almost 1 year I'm no avail to dry my clothes and and i paid a company for tell me was the problem and I bought a dryer to see if that was the problem. They play games and the owner of the company never show his face also his employee **** was very disrespectful and ***************** me 2-22-23 he has the same attitude and very disrespectful. I spend a lot of money in this problem on this company fault. No one in the company is trying to resolve this problem and also they are saying they are coming and never show up , they will call me back never do , this company don't care no effort to prioritize to resolve this problems, i call them 2 times a weeks i gave them a lot of chances before make this move. They said they are coming to come to make the hole in the roof and never show up and i ask who is going to connect the tube in the attic no one said nothing and the other hole nothing to said.. i can make a agreement w them to resolve this problem but i don't trust them.Business response

The owner of the property called us around the end of Oct beginning November regarding the matter of the dryer vent being closed. That's the time she had someone notified her regarding the matter. I had inform her that the lead roofer that he works on that roof works with another company as well. I was trying my best to get him out there. When he went he was sure that it was open but it wasn't. We sent our ******* that he only handle new house issue but he was available to check and he found out that it was cover. We try to get a good schedule to go to her house after the fact it was sure that it cover and it was our fault. She was nice enough to get schedule but the lead roofer couldn't get there on time and the other was that he didn't make. We apologize. We had set a date but there was someone going to get the hole ready and put the vent for the dryer and the other vent that it was the bathroom but the job was going to start on Thursday morning February 23th due that client had to work at 11am and we need to get in the house to verify the hole where made in the right places and in the evening the ******* was going to continue the job. The client denied the process to continue and completing the work. I contact her on the Friday February 24, 2023 to see if we can go and get another team of roofers they don't work with ** but they could make the time because they are busy. The client said that to communicated with her on Tuesday February 28th after 3:30pm or Wednesday March 1st, 2023, but no answer from the client to confirm. We want to fixed the issue but we understand she denied our service. Is her decision. If she decided to place someone else to fix the issues with the vents we can pay for the job regarding the vents. They told me on Feb-16-2023 they are coming at 11 am they never show up or call to apologize so i call them in feb-16 and they tell me the roofer have another job to finish he can't make it but they told me this when i call on feb-16 so I agree to re schedule for Feb-18 at 8 am I was at my house no one show up and I have cameras in my house no call for apologize no call back either, **** was very RUDE and also the Owner ************************* left me a Nasty Message.Yunior call me on Feb-22-2023 and told me he will call me back that day they never did and they call me on Feb-***** one of his employer call me and told me he was on his way they never schedule appointment w me basically kind that show up that they already have a busy they and I was unable to be at home and a soon the the owner ************************* see the review I left with the BBB and he call me and left me a Nasty and Aggressive Message. I would need another another company look the roof from the outside and the attic to see what else is wrong so they can fix it and also to pay me for the dryer vent bill because that was no problem and to compensate me for all this problems, time, the headache , the time I was without the dryer, the risk of my house cut in fire etc, verbal abuse from **** 2 time ad from the owner ,,Thanks

I had contact you to ask what kind of convince would you like. I got no answer that you were going to go with another roofer company to verify the roof and that is understandable. We just want to get the problem resolve. We had offer another roofer to get the job done but until this day we haven't heard from the client regarding what she wants to do. Hi what i said was the company have to repair the roof but they need to compensate me for be with out a dryer for almost a year until today , i paid the dryer guy vent cleaning to come to the house also magnify have to paid for that bill, also the 2 times they supposed to go to my house and never show up when i supposed to work and i take off for Overtime from work and magnify said they are going to my house and never show up , also the husband of this company was the one left me a NASTY voicemail ,The time a took off from work they can fix the dryer when the dryer was fine the problem was the roof ,, I ask what kind of compensation they will offer me .. magnify said they only going to take care of it but i don't trust them to show at the house , if the will cause a problem if you guys heard her husband voicemail or if they really going to do go good job after all this problems i don't want future problems w the roof i don't trust this company also this year another customer left a review for this company how bad they are , i went to a lot a can negotiate a compensation w them and fix the problem w a different company because i don't trust them it all , but never i a agreement w them about this problem , nonverbal , no ******* thanks

Based on the complaint. ***** contact me to let me know that she just wants the dryer tech refunded and to get fixed the roof. That was back on April 10th, 2023. I sent her the refund on that same day and she informed me that she was going to let me know on Friday when is the best day to go to her house to fix the roof. I never heard from her I thought she was very busy. I text her today to remind her about the fixing of the roof. I still haven't received a reply. We are willing to fix the matter.
