On 10/31/2023 I picked up my vehicle which is a 2009 Chevrolet Trail Blazer in which according to RO Number 5124 item #** which was to remove the factory tail lights and replace them with LED tail lights which they charged me $168.00 and told me at the time I picked up my vehicle that they were on order and they would contact me in a couple of weeks when the lights came in and I could bring the vehicle back and they would install them. They have yet to install the lights and last time I was there about six weeks ago, it came down to ********************* would just reimburse me for the tail lights that he didn't install and couldn't find after he had spent around 30 minutes looking all over his facility for them. With the ink pen in his hand and the checks on the counter in front of him he bent down to write the check and in an instant raised up and closed the check book and told me that writing checks was his wife's job and I would have to come back when she was their in which my reply was that she could just mail me the check, in which he was adamantly against doing. Later that day his wife left a voice mail on my phone where she stated that I would have to personally come down and pick up the check and before I came I had to call 30 minutes in advance to let them know I was on my way. So the question is not whether or not they owe me the $168.00 but instead is it unreasonable for me after making several trips to their worksite for them to think it an unreasonable request on my part to expect them to mail me the check, when they could have alleviated this whole situation by just being honest in the first place.

In response to this claim we would like to make sure all the details were given and in this case it was not by ************. Due to the customer being impatient about the lights and the time it took to receive them from where they were ordered, we offered to refund him.  We cannot control shipping and warehouse logistics if a part is ordered correctly and received wrong. There is a protocol for refunds that needed to be documented and full processed before writing the check. **** did tell the customer that his wife needed to be here. ************ did not agree with that. We cannot mail checks as the individual needs to be present to receive the check and sign for the refund. The check has been here and ready for pick up since January 3rd, 2024. We are not far from the customer as he just refused to pick up.  It is very reasonable to give proper notice of communication for pick up so that he does not waste his time. ************ made several trips on his own without proper notification by choice.  We look forward to hearing from him at his convenience of course and will be ready to clear any discrepancies.

I am rejecting this response because: If ****'s intentions were to refund me the $168.00 why couldn't he have just written the check. No matter how close they feel that I am to their facility it is a whole lot cheaper for them to put a stamp on an envelope and send it to my address than it is for me to drive across town. I have no intentions of ever going back to that shop I feel that they are irrational individuals, and if they would like to stand before a judge in small claims court  and try and justify their none since than we can do that too.
