On 10/31/2023 ****************** Complex, LLC entered into a contract with Robert Jones Roofing and General Contractors to install new roofs for 3 buildings on our commercial property. The roof installations were completed at the beginning of this year, and we have consistently had reports of roof leaks in one of the buildings. This leak has caused us to replace light fixtures twice to date. Robert Jones has failed to correct these issues. He has failed to provide the warranty documentation for the roofs, and he has not provided notification of release of lien upon final payment.Business response

The leaks at the property known as ****************** Complex LLC mentioned in the complaint are on a section of the roof that we at Robert Jones Roofing were not hired to work on. A different contractor was hired to complete the flat and metal roof at this property, and Robert Jones Roofing was hired to work on the shingle portion of the roof. Robert Jones went to the property with a legal representative of ****************** Complex LLC. While they were in the leaking unit, the tenant confirmed that the leak has been occurring in their unit since before any work by Robert Jones Roofing commenced and that the leak was not coming from the shingle section of the roof that Robert Jones Roofing was hired to work on. Even though the leak was coming from a section of the roof that Robert Jones Roofing did not do, Robert Jones still changed out the damaged ceiling tiles as a curtesy. The owner of ****************** Complex LLC knows that these statements are true because while Robert Jones and the property owner's lawyer were on site a different roofing contractor, believed to be the hired contractor that completed the metal and flat portion of the building, was on the roof making repairs.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: In conclusion to property sight visits with legal counsel it was stated that Robert ******************** continually blamed other contractors (a/c & electrical) for issues pertaining to the roofs that he has repaired. This property was left with missing soffit and facia which Mr. ******************** states was not his responsibility but was not missing prior to the roof replacement. Mr. ******************** has said that he would supply the proper warranty information to our office and to date we do not have this documentation.
Sincerely,
***************************Customer response

This is very disappointing. The vendor has not shown any good faith gesture in rectifying these issues. To date we have not received the warranty documentation for the roofing systems that he installed. We have had to pay for repairs because of his in inadequate workmanship.Initial Complaint

On 5/22/2022 **************, LLC entered into a contract with Robert Jones Roofing and General Contractors to install a new roof on our commercial property. The roof installation was completed but we have consistently had reports of roof leaks which have damaged newly renovated units at this property causing costly repairs. Robert Jones has failed to make the necessary repairs for these leaks. Our onsite contractor was told that parts needed to be ordered to make the repairs. Robert Jones has not returned to make these repairs and we have had continuous roof leaks to date. Robert Jones has failed to correct these issues and has not provided the warranty documentation for the roof. He also has not provided notification of release of lien upon final payment.Business response

Robert Jones responded to complaints of a leak in person with a legal representative of ************** LLC. The leak is coming from a plumbing pipe on the inside of the building. Robert Jones did tell the legal representative he would be back to make necessary repairs, but he has not been contacted by anyone affiliated with ************** LLC telling him when he could get back into the building. As far as the "costly damages" referenced in the original complaint, the plumbing pipe needing repaired is in a separate room with no flooring. There was one ceiling tile noted as damaged, but no other damages were seen by Robert Jones or ************** LLCs legal representative.Customer response

Complaint: 21325335
I am rejecting this response because: Our legal representative provided a report showing that Mr. ******************** accepted responsibility for the roof drain issue and the reported flooring and ceiling tile damages to a newly renovated space. He has made no attempt to make repairs and has continually blamed a/c contractors and electricians for the roofing issues that we have experienced. He claims that he will make repairs if he is paid. He has been paid in full for the roof installation and has yet to provide warranty information for the roofing system at this property. Any repairs that are required should be warranted and of no charge. Mr. ******************** should also be held responsible to pay for all damages that we have incurred due to his negligence in making the needed repairs.
Sincerely,
***************************Customer response

It is greatly disappointing that there will be more victims for Mr. ******************** to provide inadequate services to. He has yet to provide the warranty documentation for the roofing systems that he has installed and not sufficiently repaired the inadequate installation which has cost us financially to make repairs due to leaks.Initial Complaint

On 4/14/21 ********** ********** entered into a contract with Robert Jones Roofing and General Contractors to install a new roof on a portion of our commercial property. The roof was installed and we have had continuous roof leaks causing costly interior damages to individual units at this property to date. Robert Jones has failed to correct these issues. He has failed to provide warranty documentation for the roof and also has not provided notification of the release of lien on the property upon final payment. Please send all correspondence to ****************************************************************************.Business response

In response to the complaint made about the property known as ********** *********, the ongoing leaks mentioned are not due to any discrepancies in workmanship or materials used by Robert Jones Roofing. There were mechanical contractors hired and on the roof after completion (no permits were pulled for referenced mechanical work). ********************************* *** asked Robert Jones to come back after the mechanical contractors were on the newly completed roof to seal around the mechanical chase, which we did. The leaks referenced in the original complaint are coming from water blowing into the electrical/mechanical chase. Evidence of water coming in through mechanical chase as well as signs where the ** system was drug across the roof causing damage has been shown to ******************************************** representation.Customer response

Complaint: 21320940
I am rejecting this response because: Robert Jones was hired to repair the damages he has stated in his response. Roof leaks were still present in one of the suites after repairs were made.
Sincerely,

Unfortunately, the water is still coming into the mechanical chase and cannot be resolved by Robert Jones Roofing. It is not a direct result of any work performed by Robert Jones Roofing therefore the mechanical contractor that worked on the ** should be called out for any leaks occurring from the mechanical chase.Customer response

Robert Jones was hired by the general contractor and ********** ********** to repair the roof for all mechanical chases and HVAC systems that were installed on the roof of this building after the roofing system was installed. Attached is a text message sent to our office claiming that the repairs to the mechanical chase were completed. Currently we still have leaks in many of the units at this property. Robert Jones has been consistent in passing the blame for the leaks in other directions except that he provided faulty workmanship and still has not provided warranty documentation.Customer response

A response has been sent and we are not satisfied with actions of Robert Jones in providing the warranted repairs for the roofing system that he provided. He still has not provided warranty information and should not be allowed to continue provide inadequate workmanship to other customers.Customer response

This complaint has not been resolved. The contractor has not provided the repairs nor the warranty for the roofing system that he installed. This contractor should not be able to continue providing roofing services to more victims.
