I had Economy Pools which is now part of Fiji Pools, to install an automatic timer for my pool. My other one was very old and l had to turn it on and off. The worker said he could replace it with no problem. After taking my old one out he said he could just put new guts in and a new door much easier but it would take an electrician to fix that one now. I said l didnt care as long as it was water proof and the timer worked. The next day when l went outside the door had blown off. After several calls he came back out. He worked on it again and the insides are loose inside the old timer box and there is no way to connect the new door to the back of the old box. There is also a split in the top of the old box. I said this isnt going to be water proof. He said l could put tape on it. I put tape on it but it looks awful and he charged $276.55. He took the back of the new box with him. After several complaints by phone and text they stopped responding. He crediting my account $75 but l still have the problem. I am still out $200 and will still have to pay for another timer and someone to do the job properly because of the potential electrical hazard I have been left with. This was very bad work!!!

We have been using economy pools for our pool maintenance company for a few months. A month ago our maintenance guy told us our pool pump broke and we will need a new one. Economy pools installed a new pool pump. Since getting the new pump our pool has had all types of problems and after two weeks the pump is no longer working. The company is very hard to get ahold of someone to come out to repair or get answers. Everyone someone does they says they dont have the tool or someone else needs to come. Most of the time they do not answer and are not fixing pool pump for us even though we paid $3000 just a few weeks ago for it.

      Tell Hello,
We have reviewed the account and I see that we have spoke with you on 4/12/2024 and got **** out to look at the newly installed equipment that wasnt working. We spoke with you on 4/18/2024 and sent **** out again to inspect and fix the equipment. On 4/26/2024 you called in to cancel the services. Then today 4/29/2024 you called in regarding the equipment and **** went out asap to check the system and get it working again.See video of the equipment working. Every time you have called with an issue on the equipment we have sent someone out as quickly as possible to rectify the issues.

      Complaint: 21638651

I am rejecting this response because:

I called the office 4/12 due to having issues with new pool pump and equipment after installation on 4/11, there has been dirt coming out of pool jets and salt cell system is flashing error messages. I was told by office staff a technician would contact me. **** contacted me on 4/12 and told me he would be out on 4/13. 4/12 ****** came out for our weekly service that we pay for and cleaned the pool for it to be dirty by later that evening. 4/13 **** called and said he thinks he knows the problem and would schedule to have a technician to come look at it the next week (even though he was suppose to come out that day). By 4/18 pool equipment is still flashing error messages and no one has been to check on equipment so I called the office and left a message. Office called later that day letting me know they would contact a technician. **** called later that day and we discussed what was going on and no technician had been to my house. He said he would be out the following day 4/19. 4/18 ****** came out and cleaned pool to just have it dirty again before night time.  **** came out 4/19 saying he did not have the tool to open the DE container that is one of the issues (even though he has known for a week that is on of the issues), he did a few things with the pump and left. 4/24 I called and left **** a message telling him we are still having the same issues that he came out for the week prior. I did not hear anything so I called the office 4/25 and left a message. Office called me back and contacted ****. **** called 4/25 saying he would be out to my house. 4/25 **** came out added DE powder, reset some things with the wound and salt system but still did not bring the tool to look in the DE container that has been one the main issues. Twice now he has been to my house knowing an issue and not attempted to solve it. After discussing with him he said ****** would be out today to clean the pool and he will ask him to look inside the DE filter container and let him know. ****** came cleaned the pool. 2 hours later the powder and dirt is already starting to be back in the pool and the error lights are flashing again on the salt system. I called **** to let him know. He said he would look into it and talked to ******.  and come to my house 4/26. 4/26 in the morning I went outside and noticed my pool pump and salt cell system was not working. Would not even come on. Video is attached. I called **** and left a message. I called the office and talked to them. Canceled my weekly cleaning service of pool as they have been cleaning my pool for 3 weeks now and paying for it to just be dirty a few hours later and problem still not fixed. **** never came to house on 4/26 or called/ left message to update.  All weekend pool pump would not come on. 4/29 I called the office, office states they would have to talk to ****. We discussed the pool pump was installed 3 weeks ago and no issues have been resolved since installation and is not acceptable that it has not been revolved and that the pump is no longer working. **** called me an house later saying he would be out. An hour before **** came out the pool pump came on but was showing error messages. Once **** came we discussed what was going on. He didnt know why the pump wouldnt work. He reset everything on pump got it all working and set approtioately. He yet again did not have the tool to look at the DE filter system- as this has been a problem for 3 weeks now. I asked him if he talked to ****** as discussed to see what the filter system looking like inside- all he did was read notes and didnt have an answer( this has been a week and he stated he would follow through). I discussed my frustration with him that we have been having him out and paying for out pool to be clean as well as a new pump and pool is contstantly dirty and they have not solved the issue. **** then proceeds to tell me for the first time that it probably needs to be cleaned out and is $150. This was never mentioned before today that there would be an additional cost as he has known the problem and concerns the whole time. He didnt have an answer and since pool equipment was working and he could do no more he left. It is unacceptable to pay for a weekly service for your pool to be cleaned just be dirt an hour later and the company knows the problem but has not solved, be told to pay more money when it has not been mentioned on any calls or visits until 3 weeks later. The one would installed the pump should have make sure everything was set up and working correctly or someone should have come out and inspected immediately after a pump was installed to make sure everything was working.

I have more attachments to back up complaint with call logs and videos of equipment not working but was unable to upload due to size/ length of video.Happy to send over another way.

      Sincerely,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand your frustration and want to ensure that we address the issue promptly and fairly.
Upon reviewing the situation, it seems there was a misunderstanding regarding the functionality of the equipment after the replacement. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
In light of the circumstances, we would like to offer two potential solutions:
We will provide a complimentary cleaning of the filter to ensure it is operating correctly. This service will be provided at no cost to you, and we will drop the request for a refund.
Alternatively, if you prefer to proceed with the refund, we will arrange for the equipment to be retrieved. We will handle the return process efficiently and professionally.
Additionally, we would like to remind you that if there are ongoing issues with the pump, there may be a warranty through the manufacturer that we can explore to resolve the issue.
Please review these options and let us know how you would like to proceed. Our goal is to ensure your satisfaction and resolve this matter to your utmost satisfaction.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

I installed a new filter pump and salt cell with a three-year warranty, it took a couple of months for Economic Pool to diagnose salt cell stopped working, and I called them many times to find the model NO and figured out that I had to call the manufacturer to replace a new salt cell. After the manufacturer delivered the new salt cell, I constantly called the office to schedule a time to install the new salt cell. Because of the three-year warranty of equipment, I was stuck with this horrible company. I decided to move to another company, the new company found the crack in the union for salt cell. When I contacted Economic Pool, first they told me they needed to search if they had a union in the warehouse, later when I called, they told me since I stopped the service, they couldn't replace the cracked union, and refused to admit they damaged the union.

I have a bi-weekly pool cleaning service with this company. In August 2023, the pool tech that came out to service the pool did something that caused the pool floor to have metal on it.In calling the pool company, they told me it was dirt and that I needed to clean it. After I went out and brushed down the pool, it ended up not being dirt. I reached out to the the pool tech directly, and he let me know what he did, that he did it, and that he was working on fixing it. I called the pool company office back, told them what the tech said and what I did, and that they need to repair it ASAP.It has now been going on 5 months, and there is no repair done. The metal is still on the bottom of the pool. Both the tech and the pool company office are ignoring my requests and not returning my calls, e-mails, or texts. My desired resolution is to have the repairs done and the metal removed from my pool ASAP, plus a credit as it has been going on 5 months.Thanks.

The pool surface is getting stains from minerals, algae, or other substances that have accumulate on the pool surface due to signs of deterioration. Resurfacing can eliminate these stains and provide a fresh, clean appearance. Resurfacing is a more significant task that *** be needed every 8 to 15 years, depending on factors such as the type of surface.

We offered to resurface and fix situation and but was told was not in customers budget. We offered a months credit to offset some of the cost for the treatments.

Most of the stains are gone at the moment.

Purchased a replacement DE filter 1/2023 for $350 which is cracked and old likely never replaced. They just took my money and never changed it out I even have security footage from that time showing it was never replaced. They are trying to say that because I no longer use their services they are not responsible for it!

I have been using Economy Pools for years without many concerns. Within the past two months, the salt system which was part of the reason for changing to Economy, went bad. I was told I would need to replace the system at a cost of over $2,000.00 or go back to chlorine and pay more monthly. I little bitter about that but asked to be switched back to chlorine. Two weeks later, I observed black staining around the drain at the bottom of the pool. I contacted Economy, and they said they would have a manager reach out to me. A week passes, no phone call. The tech shows back up at the scheduled time, tests the water, does absolutely no cleaning, and dumps more salt into the pool. Now the black stain becomes darker and more prominent. Mind you, it is now a chlorine pool, right? I contacted Economy and told them whatever the tech is putting in my pool is only causing the stain to get worse. Tech comes back out two days later and tells me the pool shows a perfect level of salt, so he is going to continue putting salt in it. I asked him why am I being charged additionally for chlorine service. Tech said he would talk to the manager and he would contact me. Guess what? No one ever calls me! I contacted two other pool companies and they came to my home to tell me the staining was iron due to a chemical mixture issue and backwashed through my drain. I reached out to Economy again and left two messages with no response. At this point, Ive had it. I got on my credit cards website to cancel their auto payment only to find they charged my account extra money for a service that was not done. Like cleaning a filter. Finally, someone answered after repeatedly calling and was told, oops, our bad, we'll refund the money. The pool was refinished three years ($7,000) ago and now is ruined due to Economy Pools and the only response I get is, ?????! Yes, nothing! Not a care in the world that their inexperienced tech has ruined my pool surface.

We apologize for the inconvenience. I see in the notes that the manager is going out to property on 8/29/2023 to solve the issue. We also looked into the billing and the service in which customer receives. Looks like customer signed up for a promotional ********************** we ran 2 years ago. If customer used our ********************** we would install salt cell for zero charge. Now the local company we used to buy the salt cells has now closed their doors. Once they went out of business we no longer have the parts or means to fix the salt cells.  Our solution was to for customer to buy their own salt cell or we would switch them back to chlorine at weekly. Our process for chlorine is $150 a month and we didn't charge them that. We kept the price they had.

Our manager will go out there and fix the condition of the pool and the ********* will stay weekly chlorine.

I bought my house in late May of 2022 in *******, Florida. After purchasing my *********** later a guy showed up at my house with a flyer from economy pool, claiming his company had serviced the pool for the previous owners. I looked at the flyer and talked to the man for a little a bit. He told me the services his company provided, and that he would personally be taking care of the pool for me, and he set up a plan with me right then and there. I was excited about the plan because I had never had a pool before. The man never showed up to clean my pool and I had to call them.. When the 2nd guy didn't show up, Economy Pools apologized and sent another third person out; by then, my pool started to turn green. It went on for months. Finally a guy named **** fixed my green pool problem. All he did was clean the pool. Which means I had paid for services for months without receiving any pool services. However, it was too late. By time the company had got around to cleaning my pool, the jets in the small pool section stopped working because of how dirty the pool was getting. After telling them I was canceling my services, the company actually did a great job for a few months, cleaning my pool and I ended up staying with them because of ****. However, once ***** stopped servicing my pool ( I guess he was promoted ), another guy came out and the same things started happening. They stopped cleaning my pool; then when my equipment went faulty, they charged me **** dollars to fix it. Within a month, my pool started LEAKING. They had blown the hose out. They did not provide a leak detection test and said it was not there fault. However, I have documentation from a second company showing pictures of the equipment leaking. Not only did this damage my pool area, it cost me money for both my electric (500 dollars a month, the year prior it was 280) and water. I want them to pay to fix it and refund me. They even showed up and tried to charge me months after I canceled on them.

We apologize for not responding. We thought we handled this.

Unfortunately at this time we have denied the request for any refund. The customer had new equipment installed a year ago and now he is blaming us for it leaking. Tech checked on it and nothing was leaking. Customer had another company come and now its leaking. Customer is believes it is us for it and want us to fix it. Customer does not want to continue until we fix his leak. Customer has canceled and we have gone separate ways. We will not be refunding.

I am rejecting this response because:

The company did not install the equipment a year ago. It has not been a year. I reported this problem after the instillation. They sent a tech guy who did not do a leak detection test. He viewed the test. I told him I had two test done. Both said it was leaking but they could t determine where. In both leak detection test, the leak was not coming from the seal. I requested another visit to check it and it was declined. The person they sent is and was not qualified to do a leak detection  test. They told me that themselves. The leak happened after they installed the equipment I reported it. I will file a law suit with picture and evidences if we cant resolve this.

We pay Economy Pools to clean our pool on a weekly basis. Economy Pools refused to clean our pool randomly saying there was something wrong with our suction and made us reach out to a specialist and pay for them to come out just to tell us that the only thing wrong was that the filter was dirty... something Economy Pools is supposed to clean every week. Instead of even checking the filter (because clearly they don't clean it) they made us jump through hoops to get a specialist out here and pay for them to say our filter is dirty. Our pool is disgusting because they have not cleaned it in 3 weeks, they come today to finally clean it and the guy looks at it and leaves and says now it's too dirty so we have to pay them $150 to deep clean it. Something that wouldn't have to be done had they not skipped servicing our pools for 3 weeks in a row. No compensation at all for them refusing to clean it for WEEKS, just telling ** well have to pay $150 more for them to actually do their job for once. Then saying they cant come out to do that for over a week, making the total time our pool is unusable well over 3 weeks. The manager there actually tried to shift the blame onto ** multiple times for them not doing their job at all. It is disgusting how they treat their customers and how they refuse to do their job. We will not be giving them any more of our money and now have to pay another company $150 to clean up the mess that they made.

This account has some issues that the customer is going to have to address in the future for any company to be able to handle the pool. The lawn surrounding the pool nothing but sand. There is no grass or covering on the ground to stop debris from entering a pool. So anytime it rains or someone gets in pool they track sand or dirt into the pool.

We hate to lose customer but there is nothing we can do.

Economy Pools of Florida Inc has come out on a bi-weekly basis for 3 cleanings and has not vacuumed, has not brushed, does not leave a card with what was done and has spent less then 30 mins on overall service each time. After the 2nd visit with no real cleaning being done I called in and spoke with ****** and she assured me that the person who would be coming out the following day would be providing full service and that she noted the account. The following day a person from Economy pool shows up and does no vacuuming, no brushing, no chemical check and less than 30 min of overall service on my pool. I call in and speak with ****** who generally will always answer the phone and after being on hold for over 15 min she answers and acts as if I never called the day before. I question her the fact that she read something that said to leave a card next visit and all of the sudden she remembers speaking with me. After sending pictures of a dirty pool she says that the manger would be reaching me soon and that the best she can do is get someone out on Monday to do the job, this being a Friday after explaining the issues I was having the day before. I wait, no manger calls but the same pool cleaner shows up, looks at the pool and then goes back to his truck to leave! Realizing he did not intend on doing any cleaning I walk up to his vehicle and ask him to please come to the pool so I can show him the issues and once we reach the pool I point out the obvious large amount of dirt and debris on the floor of the pool and he goes on to say that he was never informed that he should vacuum every bi-weekly visit, his vacuum does not work and that the pool looks clean to him so clean that he would like to show me with his brush. He brings a brush pushes it along the bottom step as you walk into the pool and a cloud of dirt follows it as he pushes, the pool obviously cloudy with dirt all over the bottom of it and he looks up at me and says "I see what you mean now". Waste of time.

I am not sure how to respond to this. Customer called in and complained and we then sent a tech blackout to do the job. There then was a conversation with the manager and the customer and we sent someone back out. The problem was solved. We apologize for the inconvenience.
