In January 2025, I visited Johnny Clean for a one-time wash on my wifes vehicle and asked if they offered a military discount. The employee informed me that they did not but offered a free vacuum and interior cleaning instead. I accepted.Then, in March 2025, my wife noticed that we were being charged monthly by Johnny Clean and asked if I had signed up for a membership. I told her I had not, and we immediately contacted Johnny Clean. When we spoke with both the manager and general manager, they claimed they could not issue a refund for the two months of charges because I must have known I was signing up for a membership. This is absolutely untrue.I asked them to review my account, which would clearly show that I had not returned to Johnny Clean since my initial visit in January. Despite this, they insisted they could do nothing except cancel the membershipsomething they claim they have now done.I dont understand why they are unable to refund the unauthorized charges, and I wonder how many other customers are unknowingly being signed up for memberships in this way. I am 100% certain that I was never informed that I was enrolling in a membership. This feels deceptive, and I would appreciate a resolution.Business Response

I was inside my car going through the car wash I get car wash every other week so it wasnt nothing new I heard banging and I was scared for my life as Im going through the wash all I heard is my car hitting something when I drive out I was so scared I parked get out and see my bumper hanging I immediately contacted the employee and they didnt want to help he wouldnt show me the video only the picture of my car inside in my bumper wasnt not brokenBusiness Response

Thank you for forwarding Ms. ******* complaint regarding her recent experience at our facility. We sincerely apologize for any frustration or inconvenience she may have encountered.
As outlined during her interactions with our team, including the Supervisor on Duty, our Operations Manager, the General Manager, and our Vice President of Operations, the vehicle in question had preexisting damage prior to arriving at our wash. Specifically, the bumper was already detached, and additional damage was noted when Ms. ****** returned to discuss the matter further with our General Manager and VP of Operations.
We understand how concerning this situation must have been for Ms. ******* but it is important to clarify that, as stated clearly at our location and in our policies, we do not cover the costs of repairs for vehicles that have preexisting damage. This policy is designed to protect both our customers and our business from liability issues that may arise due to circumstances outside of our control.
We truly regret that Ms. ******* experience was not as expected and that this issue has led to dissatisfaction. We have taken her feedback seriously, and we are committed to ensuring that all of our customers have a positive experience at our location.

We have pictures of proof of prior damage, assessed the vehicle when Ms ****** returned to discuss with the ** and VP and there were more damages, door trim and sunroof issues. We also have a vehicle report of prior ownership and accidents which Ms ****** claimed there was none. I am unable to attached the pictures, the screen times out. Please provide a direct way for me to provide them.
Again, we do apologize for the inconvenience of Ms ******* but there were prior damage to the vehicle and we do not cover such expenses.

On 6/1/24 I went to the facility to get my SUV wash, the attendant offered me a special for a one time payment of $19.99 for three months.7/2/24 I noticed Johnny Clean took $16.04 from my account. I went to the manager and lodged a complaint, he refused to refund my money but agreed to cancel and let me wash for the rest of the month. On or about the first or second week of September 2024(I cant find the recipe on that) I went back with the intention of getting a single wash, the attendant offered me a one month special for the same price as a single wash, I specifically asked him at least two times and he assured me that it was a one time payment for $9.99 the total payment with tax came to $10.69 that came from my bank account on 9/16/24 (they have everything on camera) On 10/14/24 I check my bank account and noticed where Johnny Clean took out another $32 from my account, I went back to the manager who refused to give me back my money and I had him cancelled again.Business Response

Took my car in for a wash and the car wash malfunction, breaking my rear bumper off the vehicle, then was told by an employee that nothing would be done that they would have to do research. He then forced the bumper back on and told me I should be an able to make it home if I do not live far. after completing the research. They said nothing could be done and offered me a free car wash. I have been a customer for the car wash since February ************** I went in for a normal wash and my sideview mirror was damaged by the wash. - In 2022, I took my VW Tiguan through this wash and it ripped off my back wiper and scratched my glass. I reached out multiple times to no avail because it fell within their parameters for what they are responsible for.- Attempted to cancel in early September. As a part of cancellation, they offered a discounted rate of $19.99 for the year (09/09) to stay. There was a confirmation that I locked in my discounted rate and that someone would get back to me. I have still been charged $32 a month since. I went in October to get a wash, and was told my membership was cancelled and had to pay $20 to use the wash for a one time use, then got charged the next month again. I have called multiple times and left frequent voicemails to no response.I am looking for reimbursement for the last 5 months, for the $20 I paid, at least $50 to replace my blade (not even going to try to pursue the scratched window) and for my membership to finally be cancelled. Its a shame that I have to report to BBB to get an answer from the company.Business Response

I asked a representative at Johnny Clean Carwash if I could pay for one month. He said yes. Today, 1/16, I was charged $42.79. I drove to the location and was told to go online to cancel it. I kept explaining it was an unauthorized charge. I wanted a refund. I fly out of town for a couple of months 1/21. He said he would. I do not see my refund. This charge was unauthorized - they stole this money from me and I want my money back!I will be traveling for work and will have limited access to the internet starting 1/21.When I called, the recording said no refunds. They steal money from you claiming that you signed up because you use your name and email. Not once did an employee say we are signing you up. I paid for ONE car washw ith a rental car. I have been a monthly customer, paying for two cars-since they came to ************ *******. A few months ago, they took away the cloth tags to wipe down the inside of our cars. They gave us paper towels instead. Now, all we get is dirty cloths. They took way all of the sprays from us(fragrance, interior cleaner, ***************, etc). Now I look at my checking account and without any advanced notice-they raised the tates at Christmas time! Why no notice? They have my email address! Greed. Thats why. They were hoping no of us would notice the increase. Now, I want to cancel my two separate memberships. I was told that I have to go to some(inaudible site)and cancel online! I suppose I will have to contact my credit Union and try to get them To stop payments. I want to warn the other customers and I want an apology. I am very upset about these tactics. No notifications.
