I received a letter from Gunster, *********************************************** ** ("Gunster") on 3/8/24 saying that they had personal information of mine that had been breached from their systems. I have not had any interaction with this law firm that I know of, so I wanted to know why they had/have my information to begin with. I looked up the firm and found a local number. They answered saying that they had no information and that I should call a service center number. I called the number and the person on the phone verified that they were a 3rd party. They asked my name, did not believe me when I told them, then wanted additional personal information beyond my name. I refused to share more information with a group that has no business with this data. Right now, this seems quite elaborate, but the the firm should be able to share the reason they have any information about me, such as its source, the reason they have it and how they plan to use it. There does not seem to be any way for me to understand this and I would like this information.

In Dec of 2023 I received a letter from Gunster telling me that they had lost control of my personal information. Specifically, they referenced my social security number. I contacted them at the number they provided in the letter immediately. I left a detailed message including the nature of my request, my membership number as given in their letter, and my contact information. My purpose was to find out why they had my personal information, as I was never knowingly a client of Gunster. I was not contacted back. Beginning Jan 9th, I initiated a series of calls to Gunster, speaking with the office secretary and the office manager. I explained my request and was assured that one of their attorneys would contact me. No one has. Today marked my 9th call to the firm and nearly one month of requesting the information mentioned above. I simply want Gunster law firm to explain to me why they had my personal information to begin with.
