I had PRK done at the Lasik Vision Institute in March 2023 and am VERY UNHAPPY. I completely regret my decision to have my eyesight corrected there and would urge anyone considering this business to walk away. My left eye was immediately swollen after the correction, was never right. I have blurry vision still and was told after so many months that I had to go to my own eye ** for anything further. My last appt there was 6 months after the surgery and they told me they only usually see people up to 4 months after. I never once saw the ** after the procedure. In fact, the doctor doesn't work there anymore, which seems fishy. The man I saw every time after the procedure, whom I assume was an ophthalmologist, told me it must be because my left eye hadn't finished healing and they heal from the outside in so that's why I had some blurriness still in the middle. Here I am a year and a half later still having the same issue. I have been to 2 different ophthalmologists since and its hard for them to figure this out, especially since they didn't do the procedure on me. I have trouble **iving, reading and at functioning at work. This has thrown me into quite a depression and I don't know what else to do to get help with my eye. My hope is that someone will read this and it will deter them from making the same mistake I did. Please see a highly recommended ** to do your procedure, not this horrible LASIK chain.Initial Complaint

After lasik surgery from this company, I was in severe pain for almost a week. I could barely open my eyes. When I called to ask for advice, I reached a call center. When I finally was able to contact the actual Institute, I made an appointment and came in. They told me my eyesight was indeed slightly better. And they renewed my prescription for eyedrop that reduce the pain. I continue to be in pain for another three weeks, and when I called them to ask for refill, they would not do it. It has been almost a year, and I still need to use eyedrops 10x a day, and I need my glasses to read anything at all. But the glasses are actually not even the proper prescription at this point. I see worse than I saw before I had the surgery done, and nobody has helped me from the institute.Initial Complaint

I had lasik surgery on 02-05-2024. After waiting 3 months like I was told that if after 3 months if I would have any problems this is the timeframe I would see that. After the three month ***** I kept wondering why I still couldnt see far away up close. I did not make an appointment back with them because I was afraid that Id lose my **********************. I did contact them multiple times ask for a refund for the surgery, no one called me. Ive only gotten emails and I have been dealing with this since May. This is unprofessional. I do have an eye doctors appointment this Monday again. , no one called me. Ive only gotten emails and I have been dealing with this since May. This is unprofessional. I do have an eye doctors appointment this Monday again I am in glasses. And I have to have follow up eye appointments to help with my vision. Im very disappointed with the surgery. Im very disappointed in how this has been conducted to communicate with me. The customer. Im also disappointed in. They didnt take me serious when I tell them about my vision if something wasnt wrong with my vision, I definitely would not keep fighting this issue, please all Im asking is a refund for my surgery. I understand that people have great success unfortunately I did not and I dont feel like I should be paying for something that Im having to go back-and-forth to the eye doctor to get corrected.Initial Complaint

I had Lasik procedure with lifetime assurance plan. I required adjustment, but the company now says their California operations declared bankruptcy and they will not honor the contract, yet the company under the same name still touts and charges for its lifetime assurance plan. This seems wrong and what are the assurances for new clients that they won't dishonor the lifetime coverage. Should they not be required to hold insurance against bankruptcy if they are offering a long term contract? I would recommend no one takes out a "lifetime" assurance policy as it does not seem to be worth the paper it is written on.Initial Complaint

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Lasik Plus regarding the conduct of Dr. ** ********************* and *********************************. Lasik Surgery was performed on 9/8/203. During a postoperative consultation on November 17, **************** admitted that my eyes were overcorrected. The over-correction was a concern; I was told before the procedure the WaveLight EX500 was a precise machine. Its my understanding that overcorrections like mine are often attributed to inaccurate preoperative measurements or errors in laser calibration, raising serious concerns about the procedure's accuracy and the equipment's calibration. During my visit on January 3, 2024, I was expecting to discuss the next steps to get me back to clear vision and possibly discuss enhancement surgery. Instead, ********************** informed me Lasik Plus had achieved its "end goal" with my treatment, without providing a clear explanation of the issues I was currently undergoing with my vision. This statement was made without offering a follow-up with the surgeon or discussing options under the Lasik Plus Premium Advantage Plan, leaving me without a plan for addressing ongoing vision challenges. I believe the procedure was not carried out with the utmost professionalism and care and Lasik Plus left me feeling abandoned. I request your guidance and assistance in seeking a resolution, which should, at a minimum, include the release from my payment contract with Lasik Plus.Initial Complaint

On 1/18/2006 I purchased a Lasik procedure on both eyes. I Purchased a Lifetime Accuity Plan as part of the procedure. (See EX1) The Lifetime Accuity Plan states that the target vision outcome is 20/40 uncorrected. On 1/12/24 I provided Lasik with a completed retreatment form so they could advise me about retreatment. On 1/20/24 Lasik sent me a generic boilerplate denial stating: "At this particular time the benefits of an enhancement/retreatment likely would not outweigh the potential risks of additional laser vision correction surgery, such that an enhancement procedure or treatment may not be medically appropriate." (See EX2)1/21/24: I replied with request for clarification of denial because the retreatment form shows my vision is less than the target vision outcome in the Lifetime Accuity Plan. (See EX3)1/24/24: I sent them another email but they did not reply.1/25/24: I sent them another email but they did not reply.1/26/24: I called lasik left voice mail.1/29/24: I emailed a final request to Lasik for a reply but still have not received any reply.Initial Complaint

I had Lasik eye surgery about 4-5 years ago which came with a "lifetime warranty" provided I had an eye exam every year. I have complied with this and have had annual eye exams. At my last eye exam I was told my nearsighted vision was degrading (this is what I had the Lasik to correct) so I filled out a form they required had my eye doctor certify the information and My Eye Dr faxed the information to LVI back in November for review. I was told the review could take 60 days. I have called 3 times to get an evaluation set up with LVI to get my vision corrected and they have failed to return my calls. I was told someone would call me back to set up an evaluation and have yet to hear from anyone. I believe my claim was sent to them on November 7th. I am requesting an evaluation to determine if I can have the corrective Monovision surgery that I should be eligible for under warranty.Initial Complaint

With all the positive reviews out there, I hope people see this one, and really disappointed in their service. I am writing this review after 6-7 months. My eyes are still blurry, and texts appear blurry too. I purchased the "best package," and they said they would cover any adjustments. However, they have not done so! Since my eyes are still blurry, I have seen their doctor twice. They gave me drops for dry eyes which is another $100+ cost, but they did nothing. All they offered me is wait out....To get a correction, you have to spend money out of your own pocket to get an exam with your eye doctor. Afterward, they will "decide" if they will proceed with the correction. They just got back to me, saying there would be a risk. I am pretty sure they don't want to provide the correction. I might have to go back to glasses after all these. ??Initial Complaint

In in 2019, I had gone to the Lasik vision institute in ************** **************. I have paid an out-of-pocket expense of a little over $3000 for corrective eye surgery in both eyes. I was assured that there was a lifetime insurance policy where I would be able to come back if there were any changes to my vision. Now in 2023, I am a ******** resident and called the Lasik vision institute to schedule an appointment to get my eyes reevaluated because my site is deteriorating. I was told that they will not honor my lifetime insurance policy because the Mount Pleasant site had closed. I do not understand how the Lasik vision institute is free of any obligation to correct the vision of a patient that they have on file because an office closed. Regardless of who was fighting the office, it was the Lasik vision institute that I entered into an agreement with, and it is now the Lasik vision institute that is denying to correct my vision.
