I am filing this complaint regarding Florida Power Management due to their inadequate response to a warranty claim and lack of communication. The issue pertains to a leak in my roof, which I discovered after the company installed solar panels. Both the solar panels and the roof in the installation area are covered under a 25-year warranty provided by Florida Power Management.Upon identifying the issue, I promptly contacted the company. A representative visited my property and informed me that an inspector would be scheduled to assess the roof damage inside and outside. However, it has now been over a month since this visit, and I have not received any further communication or updates regarding the inspection or resolution of the problem.Despite my repeated attempts to contact the company, it has been extremely difficult to get in touch with their representatives. I have also provided photographs of the damaged roof to assist with the claim, but these appear to have been ignored, as no progress has been made. The companys lack of responsiveness and failure to address the warranty claim in a timely and professional manner is unacceptable. This delay is causing significant frustration and concern, as the roof damage could potentially worsen over time.I am seeking the BBBs assistance to ensure that Florida Power Management addresses this issue promptly by:Scheduling the promised inspection of my roof without further delay.Providing a clear timeline for repairing the damage covered under their warranty.I believe this matter deserves urgent attention and a resolution in line with the companys stated warranty obligations.

Xander from Florida Power Management told me that my payments for the solar panels would be $215 a month but they are actually $396 a month. Which is more than i was paying for my electric before the solar panels were installed. I want them to return the money to the bank and come pick up their solar panels. They also never told me about the umbrella insurance coverage. I found out when the policy was up for *******. The agent explained to me that the installer pays for the insurance coverage for the 1st year. I'm thinking that's so they don't have to tell you about it

      Hi ****,

Just spoke with you on the phone, but I am going to post this just for clarification.

Unfortunately we cannot cancel the loan you have with ********. As an installer we have nothing to do with that, but ************************* is a 1099 sales person that runs a door to door sales team and sells for multiple different companies depending on who will give him the best install price at the time so he can make as much money as possible. We have also had a very bad experience with ****** who now works for Suntria Solar in *******. We as an installer are very leery of door to door sales people so when jobs are submitted to us we record a welcome call were we ask the following, 1 Please verify you name and address 2. Did you sign and understand you install agreement 3. Did you sign and understand your financing agreement. 4. Did the sales rep make any unwritten promises. I would also assume the banks do a similar welcome call in order to complete the loan as must require it.

Here is some helpful info on the situation:

In 2023 your system produced ****** kWh of power. At current Duke rates that equates to $4,266,15 worth of power a year. That would be $355.51 a month worth of power that **** would charge. Obviously ***** rates will continue to increase so they will only continue to bill more for ****** kWh worth of power.

Also, you are eligible to claim 30% tax credit on the solar system, but that does require you do it when you do your taxes. I would recommend starting the process on 2023's taxes. You still are eligible to release that tax benefit.

Contract signed on December 17, 2021. Contract stated 78%coverage of electric bill but was verbally explained to us we would have 97% coverage of electric bill. We also try to get ahold of the business 6 to 7 times. 1 or twice in May due to solar not being turned on yet. Then again in July when we received high bill $200+ just got electric not including our solar bill. July into August solar panels were off for 18 days and we contacted business to see why they were off and to get reimbursed for down time. August and September again due to high bills.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/25) */ Contact Name and Title: Matt (CEO) Contact Phone: 4075542047 Contact Email: [email protected] Mr***** your solar system is on and working great and you have not reached out to us for almost 2 months, at which time your concern was noted and we made sure the solar system monitoring was resolved. Your contract did NOT say any percentage coverage of an electric bill. The solar contract estimates that the production of the solar will be 14,235 KWh annually. The Solar System has been on for 5 months and has produced 6,000KWh. Therefore the system will generate MORE than the estimate in the contract. Both contract and proof of production are attached for reference This is a common misunderstanding related to how Net-Metering works with solar. Your solar system was turned on during the highest consumption months of the year, you had no months to bank any KWh rollover credits. We would be happy to provide you with an explanation on how net metering works if you would call the office. It is rather strange to slander a company online who you haven't bothered to reach out to and who is happy to try to assist you, and carries a 25 year workmanship warranty as a long-term partner. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/10/25) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Very funny that my wife has called this business over 6 times. I don't have all the dates with me but I know 1 was July 18th and my wife spoke with a Nicole B. Several times and was told she was going to have an engineer call to make arrangements to fix our solar panels on our roof. Never got a call back or anyone get in touch with us. CEO gets involved and someone calls the very next day. Where was the customer service and the concern to get back at over the several months we have tried to get with your company. Mr. CEO don't forget who makes it possible for you to run a successful business. Just in case, it's your customers that pay for your product. You speak of slander, I don't think so we have come to your business about our concerns plenty but this business only actually got back the day after I wrote to BBB and everything I wrote is actual and true. Yeah I would care about your ratings too if I were in your shoes. I would certainly not recommend your solar company to anyone. One of my biggest concerns was that your company being as professional as you say put my panels crooked on my roof. Congratulations my house is the only house I have ever seen with solar panels that were not lined up in a straight line. Solar panels hang off the side of the roof. 1 side is 5" off and the opposite side is 1" off. Yeah I know it's not a big deal to you Mr. CEO but me, your customer it makes a big difference to. Your business is not a fast food restaurant that made a mistake on my fries. This is a system that I will end up paying over $60000 for when paid off and I'm only a customer not a CEO but I do believe that customer service should come with the product even after you make the sale. Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2022/11/08) */ There is nothing to fix, the solar system is working perfectly and as intended. The system as installed extremely well and pictures are attached that show that. We welcome a call to help you understand the idea of a % coverage of electric bill. Net metering can often be confusing to customers.

I had my solar panels installed because the salesperson said there would be $20000 solar tax credit after 18 months, this sum was instead $2000 and they hiked up the price from $150 to $200. They also also never paid back any referrals although several people I know and recommended to them proceeded to install panels with them. Paired with this was when the panels were installed one of the installers broke my ceiling and a supervisor called Scott said they would reach out to have it fixed but never did. Also they never finished the NEM solar inspection with the city and I received a final notice from them to have the inspection done.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/24) */ *******, You have never called into our office related to any of the concerns listed beyond the small drywall repair that was already done. Your solar system is on working great for the last 18 months. It has produced even batter then the contract estimated it would produce. Your contract showed 15,500 KWh esteemed annual production and the system has produced 16,600 Kwh in the last year. Attached screenshot We have very detailed policy of making sure jobs we take are vetted for ethical sales practices. You signed a customer testimonial (attached) that details everything related to federal income tax credits. You also did a welcome call with a 3rd party finance company related to your solar financing. We have nothing to do with your monthly payment.

I signed the contract for solar on may 28th every contact I've had with the company they lied. First a site inspection was completed on June 2nd I heard nothing from the company for 2 week until I contacted them. I was told another technician would need to come out for more information. On june 24th a tech came out and he said the previous tech no longer worked there and never turned in the inspection. To date I have not had the company contact me. I reached out on July 1st to the rep that sold me the system and was told I would be installed in 3-4 days. Again no contact from the company until I reached out on July 22nd spoke to Tina and was told the site inspection just came back from engineering on July 20th and she or someone from engineering would call me back within the hour. I have not been contacted by anyone to date. I called today and went to voicemail and left a message to call me with the install dated. No call back as of the time I am filling this complaint.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/01) */ We have not even done installation work on this customers home. Our contract shows an approximate installation date of 08/28/2022. Our company unfortunately had to send a different site surveyor out after the first surveyor quit and did not upload the pictures taken. That is the reality of the current employment environment since covid. That delayed our work by a few weeks but kept us on track to be well before the estimated installation date. We were also attempting to do the best by the customer waiting on confirmation on where the solar panels should go. Customer wanted them placed on flat roof but didn't understand the risks, so we recommended the pitched portion. Throughout the interactions with this customer he was borderline verbally abusive to our office staff. Leaving a BBB complaint after not getting a call back within one hour is asinine. Called this customer to question why he would leave a bad complaint when we hadn't even done the actual work for which we give a 25 year warranty. Tried to reason with customer but he insisted we do the work and he would take the review down. We will not do business with this customer who would shoot himself in the foot and intentionally attempt to damage the reputation of company that he should understand would be a long term partner is servicing a solar system. We are canceling this contract and will be happy to refer him to other solar contractors in his area.

The solar panels were installed on my house at the end of November, and active by February - I did not receive any type of actual setup information from FPM, and mostly had to figure it out on my own, including downloading and using the App. Even then, since the system went live in February, the offsets actually didn't start until March. Since I started with the solar a panel has not been operational, and according to FPM they always monitor the panels to see if they are function correctly. Which means they have known about this issue for over 6 months and still have done nothing about it! I've called FPM on multiple occasions, and at least 1 or twice a month. In one months, I called their direct line every day at multiple times in one week, and never spoke to a live person. I was directed around an needless loop that asks me to leave a message, and then no one follows up, ever. This has been going on for 4 months now, and the issue has STILL not been resolved. I'm getting ready to move towards litigating this because they are NOT maintaining the system. Why can't I talk to a person? Why isn't this issue fixed? I'm still paying for a panel that never worked!
