I contacted PCU because bill had gone from 40.00 dollars to 96.00 dollars and my water usage in one month using 8,000 Gallons to 19,000 gallons and we have no leak and never had a bill ever this high. We don't have a pool or hot tub and it's just the 2 of us. We have been having trouble ever since they went to a new computer system. They say a leak but we have checked and we have no leaks. They suggest an audit to see if anything is wrong. It will be 7 to 10 days before this will be done. They are taking advantage of all of the customers.

We do apologize for the customer's concern. Polk ******************** Utilities offered and audit to be conducted at no charge to the customer to help them in determining what created the higher consumption at their location. Polk County has no visibility into the customer's specific contributors of consumption that occur past the county's meter. An audit is a tool that can help the customer determine when a high consumption pattern occurred and if they potentially have an issue that is in need of repair. In many cases PCU working with customer they find they need to address irrigation schedules that create consumption increases or possibly repairs to the irrigation system to stop leaks. This is only an example of a common root cause. For this customer the audit shows something occur in at the customer's location in latter October and early November 2023 that contributed to their higher billing consumption. Whatever the contributing problem was, the customer seems to have addressed it based on the audit results. There has been no contact from the customer with PCU as to if a repair was conducted. If a repair was conducted the customer may be eligible for an adjustment. We encourage the customer to let PCU know if this is the case or if they have questions. PCU seeks to help our customer's as much as we can and to provide information tools that can help the customer identify things at their locations that PCU is unable to.

Polk Count Water Auth is a scam Where in any other county can you live and get a 333.00 water bill in a month and not be living in the house house is for my vacation/retirement. First thing they do is go after your irrigation controller saying when there is a storm it resets your box Bull I had a sprinkler guy go to my house to check for leaks and the controller all was well Of course more money spent besides the extremely high water bills every month I live in New York and don't pay no where near that
