nCourt works as a payment processor for Brewster County Justice of the Peace JP2 and hasn't passed on my payment to the local government. I paid a month ago and am still not eligible to renew my license because of their payment being in limbo. I'm essentially being held hostage with no recourse and have a line of people who say they can't do anything. Meanwhile my entire life is crippled with no reasonable of economical form of transportation. It's extremely unacceptable.

I received a ticket 10/05/23 and have periodically checked the online portal. Twice within the first week and once each week for a month. Each time seeing a message to wait up to 14 from the date of the citation. I had called someone? (She mumbled her name) Via the number on the site and she had given me vague hope of what I could owe and that it could be up soon(This was after waiting 14 days). All of that to say, someone on ncourts end does in fact have the information about the charge, and yet it doesnt appear on my end to pay OR to tell me that it must be answered in person. Even if I cant pay through the ncourt portal, the fact that I cant be given an answer from the portal or a person is poor practice. Id honestly rather not request a day from work so Ive held off waiting for an update. I dont care if I pay in person or online but my options are obfuscated due to poor practice or processing and Id like to know which. Im not concerned with how much, I just want to know the status, if it is being held up by the county, or if Ive been forgotten about. The reason for the ticket will be addressed well before the date I need to appear.

On April 10,2023 I went into ******** Tn courts to pay my sons ticket being that it was the last day to pay it. I was headed out of town so I needed to get it taken care of quickly. I used a card to pay the ticket. The girl at the desk stated that the payment did not go through on her end . I told her it went through on my end . She still continued to tell me no. I swiped my card again another time and my card did nothing. She stated nothing in her end also. So due to ******** being so ruthless with warrants and the girl taking the payment saying it still didnt show up . I tried to check my account. **************** was not good so that was unsuccessful. The girl behind the desk said there was an ATM machine in the building and I could use it and pay cash. I did. Got a receipt and went on about my business. Called ******** courts stated they would issue a refund with NCourts kept telling me allow **** days . It is now April 29th,2023 and I have yet to get a refund . Ncourt sends me to ******** Tn courts , ******** Court sends me to Ncourt . Ncourt has made an unauthorized charge on my credit card in the amount of $54.99. I have called several time only to be disconnected after waiting on hold for over an hour. I have sent emails to their technical support department who have responded saying unfortunately, we are unable to assist you with your issue, as we are only a government payment processor. They continue to tell me that I need to contact the court about this matter. *** contacted the court and they tell me that ncourt is responsible for making the charge and that I need to contact ncourt. This payment is associated with a speeding ticking payment made by *********************** that was processed to the ********** ********
Municipal Court. The payment was submitted on 04/20/2023 with the amount $50.00 and nCourts processing fee of $4.99. Per our
records, it appears that cardholder did not interact with a representative when making the payment from the merchant but entered
the payment online instead. Before a payment can be submitted through our online systems, the payer must agree to our terms
agreement and provide information associated with the card being used. nCourt has provided services in full, and the initial payment
      should stand.
Payer was electronically notified of this transaction via the email address they provided (*********************) which
confirms that the court also has a copy of this payment. It appears that cardholder had knowledge of this payment.

On March 20, 2023 at 2:34pm I paid for my speeding ticket in full. I made an electronic payment in the amount of $236.47. I did NOT make another payment for anything nor did I authorize any charges to be made at any time after I paid my ticket in full. I have attached my receipt for that payment. I also have an email response from someone from ******* that states my case has been paid in full and closed. That individual also attached a copy of the screen docket for my records and information to that email. I have also attached a copy of that screen docket that was sent to me from *******. I do not have any other tickets and there should never have been another charge after March 20, 2023 when I paid my ticket in full. As I stated previously I did not authorize any charges after that date. It appears they saved my payment information and reused it to make this charge of $54.99 that I did not authorize.

      Complaint: 19976506

I am rejecting this response because: The attachments will show my receipt I received from ncourt on March 20, 2023 when I paid my speeding ticket in full for $236.47. I have no other tickets to pay for so there is no reason why ncourt would charge me $54.99. I never authorized that payment, it was made one month after I paid my ticket. I believe ncourt kept my credit card information and charged it in the amount of $54.99 without my consent. I also have a copy of the screen docket I received in an email from ncourt that shows my case has been paid in full and is now closed. In addition I have an email from ncourt that states my case has been paid in full and is closed. There should have never been any charges after I paid the $236.47 on March 20, 2023. I feel ncourt has inappropriately used my card information and have stolen $54.99 from me. When I reached out to ncourt via email their response was of no help and I have been unable to reach anyone via telephone thus far.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

I was issued a citation by an officer on 02/05/23. I contacted my lawyer to handle my case and was informed by them that my case was resolved and I needed to pay a fine to Snohomish county. My citation number was 3A0191334. I was asked to make the payment here: ************************************************************************************************************************** Their payment processor was nCourt. After a grueling 20 minute call with the agent who I repeated myself to clearly and articulately multiple times, for the court, case number, and my information. All of which I was easily able to look up here: ************************************************************************************* they still charged me my amount as well as their processing fee and made the payment to the wrong court. Despite me answering the nCourt agent's request for the court's name, phone number, address, and zip code. All of which I provided right off of the ** Courts search with my case number.I need them to refund my payment IMMEDIATELY and stop ripping off taxpayers.

      Business response

After conducting a search for *********************************, we show there was a payment on 3/30/2023 that was transferred to ********************** the same day. ********************** rejected the payment which caused an automatic refunded on 4/4/2023.  Our processor reflects the same information (please see attached documentation for back up).

      Complaint: 19877186

I am rejecting this response because:

Yes, I was eventually refunded PART of my payment. You can see clearly in the document that nCourt provided that I paid $238.35 which was my $227 payment, as well as nCourt's $11.35 payment processing fee. nCourt is responsible for erroneously and carelessly sending my payment to the wrong court.

The court confirmed that they are not able to refund me the $11.35 since that was the amount nCourt charges and not the court. At this time nCourt has effectively stolen $11.35 from me which I have not yet been refunded in any capacity. This is something I'm willing and able to go to small claims court for if necessary.

It's not about the dollar value, it's about the predatory practices in stealing money from individuals. Which is effectively what nCourt has done here.

      Sincerely,

      *********************************

It is not our normal practice to return the convenience fee associated with the payments, since this is a service that we provide; however, due to the circumstances, I will ***** this refund request of 11.35.
Please allow **** business days for this to process as a credit on your payment card.

I paid a speeding ticket fine of $141.00 and when I submitted the payment, it didnt work and an error occurred. I was charged for $242 for my two tickets it was paid everything is fine until I was charged twice! So now after calling they can only fine one payment in their system and sent it to accounting to look for the other one ! I was charged twice so a total of $484 when I was only supposed to be paying $242!

This payment is associated with a premium citation payment made by ********************* to the Hanover Town Court. The payment was submitted on 3/6/2023 with the two amounts of $100.00 and $125.00 with an nCourts processing fee of $17.73. Per our records, it appears that cardholder did not interact with a representative from the merchant but entered the payment online instead.  We see that there were several attempts to pay on 3/5/2023; however, there was a Vantiv Processor error which shows the payment did not go through (see below).  If ************** could provide a bank statement reflecting the double charge, we will be happy to investigate further.
