This association uses predatory tactics to make you sign up for a membership. I signed up for a recurring paid monthly membership that I haven't used because the events do not suit my needs, the events are too far away, or they send notices at the last minute. There are no jobs posted on their job boards (ever). What's the point in paying for something that provides nothing for you? I tried to cancel the monthly renewal (after 9 months of paying for nothing) and they are requiring that I pay for an additional 3 months before they will cancel my subscription. This is a predatory scam to force members to commit to a full-year subscription for something that could be useless to them. I want my subscription canceled (without payment), or will contact my CC company for resolution.

Date of Transaction: July 29, 2022 Amount I was charged: $45 Reason of the charge: Membership renewal (Aug 1, 2022 - Jul 31, 2023)Written message to request cancellation: Jul 29, 2022 (before new membership started)Dispute:I purchased a one-year membership till Jul 31, 2022 on the business website, and was charged for annual renewal automatically on July 29, 2022, which was not my intention. The business was not ethical on membership renewal for below reasons:1) The terms for auto renewal was not obvious in the agreement in the first time purchase of the membership, and there is no visible button on its member account webpage for user to cancel membership renewal and auto payment.2) **************** did not send clear renewal and payment reminder to user before it automatically charged for renewal. It had a misleading email subtitle as "Your membership will expire soon", instead of "Membership renewal reminder" ish. And there was no direction for cancel membership in the email, only direction to set up autopay and renew, which was super misleading.3) Before the new membership started, I already wrote to the organization ask for cancellation, as I could not find the cancellation button on its page.Response from business:The business refused to cancel new membership and refund the money.
