On June 20, 2024, I was served with papers regarding a court case with Aldridge Pite Haan representing ************** in regard to an unpaid credit card debt. I had received a letter from them previously and had tried to come up with a payment plan, via email and phone calls to the firm. Every time I called or emailed, the responses stated different amounts that I could pay (a settlement), different payment amounts and frequencies. This happened 6 or 7 times. The representative who was emailing with me at one point asked many personal questions that I felt irrelavant to the debt, such as my place of employment, how much I make, how much i pay for rent or mortgage, my age/height/weight/sexual identity. These seem ILLEGAL. This "firm" is a shady, bottom-dwelling debt collector in my opinion. I have enrolled in a debt resolution program with Beyond Finance, and they are still trying to negotiate with Aldridge Pite Haan. They won't speak to me when I call, so my hands are tied at this point.

I am rejecting this response because:

The fact remains that while trying to agree to a payment plan, the representative continued to provide different amounts/total payments despite me telling her what I could or could not afford. After a while she simply quit replying, now assuming because I notified you that I am working with Beyond Finance.

The questions about my height/weight/sexual identity, etc. were not via email. There was a form that the process server filled out (which appeared to be part of the packet of documents from your firm) with those questions. some of the questions I was asked via email may have been to get an idea of what I could afford, but I thought they were a bit intrusive and rude. When I stated what I could afford, that should have been enough. Maybe figure out a more professional way to guage a person's income/ability to pay.

To my knowledge, there has been no resolution with Beyond Finance although they indicate they are "in negotiation". I would like to get this agreed upon prior to the August 5 court date and not have to go to court at all, or at least not more than once. I would like for a payment agreement to be made and then a request to dismiss the case so it doesn't go on my credit report and cause even more damage than already exists. Additionally, having to take time off work to go to court is a hardship.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

This company deals with debt collection. I received a letter of garnishment back in February of this year for the amount of $4,963.49. I had not been contacted about it before. They claim they tried to reach out to me in 2020 about this debt but I have no documentation. I immediately paid this debt by phone with a debit card on 2/26/2024. Payment posted 2/28/2024. They failed to file a letter to the court to stop the garnishment until March or April and only after $3,076.32 had been deducted from my pay. I have received back all but $936.98, which is the amount the court dispersed to them. I have contacted APH numerous times inquiring as to when I could expect to receive this money back. Every call goes different and I always get a different date as to when it was sent to their accounting department to be refunded. I have left voicemails and sent emails, the 2 ways the automated system they have claims to be the fastest way to get a response, and have never gotten a call back. They also give the option to get a call back and no on ever does. Bottom line here is the debt was paid in full in February, and here it is ***** and I still haven't received my funds back. I have run out of options here as to waiting the time they said it takes to process has expired twice, working on the third time .I have called them twice today and have yet to speak to a person, sitting on hold each time for 30 minutes before their system dumps the call. Finally got someone on the phone on the third try and was conveniently hung up on. Currently on hold for a fourth time. I would like to avoid any legal options to get this resolved, but their blatant lack of good business ethics may leave no other option.

This office is a tragedy and needs to be investigated. As was mentioned by other complaints, I have no correspondence with this company prior to a garnishment, eliminating an opportunity to work with creditor. Secondly the debt issuer is a company Ive never even heard of and now Ill have to take time away from my job to address this problem. BBB should do all it can to open an investigation into the unscrupulous business of APH Law. Deplorable.

On Friday March 15, 2024 at 4:30AM I rented a vehicle from **** Rental Car at ******* *************************. Airport. The car was to be returned Tuesday March 19, 2024 at 4:30. The vehicle was rented for a trip and was returned on Wed. March 20 and I was aware we would forfeit our deposit which would essentially cover the extra day. When the car is returned to the airport on 3/20/24 the **** employee, looks at the vehicle for inspection and checks the car off as good to go and that is it. I received an email confirming the total paid for the vehicle was $900.46 on 3/20/24. On April 8, **** charges my credit card for $450 for a cleaning fee and around April 15, 2024 I receive a letter stating there was a "presence of animal hair" and something about excessive soilage, not sure what excessive soilage even means as there was nothing wet in the vehicle. I contact **** requesting a refund and explanation for these bogus charges. At no point in time was there ever an animal in the vehicle nor was there an damage or mess made in the vehicle. That was verified the day the car was returned to **** and checked by an employee. Photos were sent by email from an employee of the supposed "animal hair" and there is no animal hair seen in these photos and there was no animal ever in that vehicle to produce ANY animal hair. The photos were not valid for the time we rented the vehicle. The things in those photos look like dust and dirt maybe, and a car that needs to merrily be vacuumed. How do you blame a customer and charge them almost 30 days later for "animal hair"? No one rented this vehicle after us? The van has sat for almost 30 days like this? I want a refund for these charges. No customer should have to worry about being lied on by a company so they can charge more for a vehicle. This has been escalated with **** and my next steps are **** corporate contacts and taking civil legal action. This is unprofessional and extremely disappointing as a first time **** customer.

APH FILE NUMBERS 21-16656 and 22-36596. I was contacted by my bank when this firm entered a garnishment against my account for $2522.29 + $100 for a fee. The bank emailed me a copy of the documents as I had never heard of the firm or the cases. I immediately called them because the jurisdiction and the address were not mine. It is a case of identity theft. The funds were drafted on 01/16/2024. They mailed me documents to fill out. I filled out the paperwork and filed a police report. All paperwork is attached as well as proof that I did not live at the address or in the jurisdiction that they served the paperwork to and in. This is the same paperwork that I faxed the company on 02/03/2024. I did not get a response even though they now have the correct information. I had to call them to verify they received my fax. It has been 3 weeks and still no action taken not even an email. Some of the proof submitted showed that I have been at the same address with the same email since 2002. The address, email address, and phone number they had on file were not mine. The paperwork supporting the wrongful garnishment is attached. I can provide the paperwork for the 2nd case if needed.

Similar to some of the other complaints mentioned. I never received an original complaint to try and fix this debt prior to this company choosing to file for garnishment. I have also reached out to them via phone and email to try and resolve this issue for less than the 25% they will now be taking out my check that is already scraps. I let them know the first time I received a court notice about garnishments that I was never served with the original complaint in reference to this account yet you guys failed in that case and decided to take it to another county after I let it be known that I was not given the opportunity to start paying off the debt prior to garnishment.

I received a message at work about a garnishment for something years ago. The papers when the case was filed were never served to me. I found out about this via my work just on 1/18. The papers have the wrong address and there is no mention of how I was alerted. I was not provided the opportunity to work with the creditor before this was approved. 25% of my pay will leave me homeless and jobless after the first month.

I am rejecting this response because:

I did hear back from my email.  I replied with what I wanted to do.  I have yet to hear back from that response.

My pay was garnished.  My complaint is that they did not follow due course before the garnishment was filed.  I did not get a notice and I was not served by a processor.  I would like the law firm to explain how they got a garnishment order in DeKalb County when I lived in Cobb county and to show that they followed due process before seeking summary judgement.  They have not followed the legal path or followed ethical business practices.

I was blindsided by a court document stating that I was in the process of having my wages garnished sent in the mail to an old out of state address in *******. I currently live in ********** and have never received any other court documents while living here notifying me that I was ever being sued by Aldridge Pite Haan. I was only notified of this because the family Im renting my old house to contacted me about being served the writ of garnishment about a month ago. Despite multiple attempts being on call with different representatives, the company attempting to negotiate monthly payments that my husband and I would be able to pay, they have outright refused to work with me on this. They demand that I must pay the full amount of $11,168 immediately. Im absolutely ready and willing to pay off the amount in reasonable installments, but they seem to only want to go the garnishment route. I have tried submitting a request through their payment portal for a payment plan twice, but they have never emailed or called me back letting me know if the request had been reviewed, rejected, or accepted. I would also like to resolve this matter as soon as possible, but the company has forced a stalemate in any further discussion of the matter.
