    We are in possession of documents validating the debt.  By federal law (USC ****g), the former resident may request these by contacting us directly through US Mail.  There is no requirement that a collection agency seek an agreement with a consumer in order to collect.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    As said before, I was not notified about this debt if so I would have reached out sooner because now this is affecting my ability to put a roof over my two year olds head because I am alone. Please contact the original creditor and ask them have they ever seen me, heard my voice, anything. If they cannot show proof of this, this needs to be removed. Unethical is an understatement to apartments renting to people without even seeing them in person or hearing their voice.  I will not be held responsible for anyone elses doings and from the looks of it, this was around covid.

I have tried reaching out via phone calls and through the contact section on their website, but all my attempts have gone unanswered. I am writing in regards to a collection account that has recently appeared on my credit report. The account in question is with your agency, Rent Recovery Solutions, and pertains to my former residence at the ********************** apartment complex.I am concerned that this collection activity has occurred without any prior communication with me. I have not received any correspondence from Rent Recovery Solutions or ********************** regarding this matter over the past six years.I lived at ********************** apartment from December 2017 to May 2018. During my tenancy, I fulfilled all my financial obligations, including timely payment of rent and utilities. My lease contract officially ended in May 2018, and I informed the leasing office of my departure. upon my departure, my former roommate, ****, continued the lease with a new roommate, Gelareh.After discovering the collection account on my credit report, I contacted Rent Recovery Solutions at ************. During our conversation, The Debt Collector informed me that the collection is for rent and utility bills of December 2018. I would like to emphasize that I was not a resident of the apartment at that time; this is not my debt, and I dispute the validity of this debt.

    First and foremost, I would like to reiterate that I dispute the validity of this debt. As I previously stated, my tenancy at ********************** ended in May 2018, and I fulfilled all financial obligations, including rent and utilities, during my residency. It is concerning that Rent Recovery Solutions is attempting to collect on alleged rent and utility bills from December 2018, a period well after my official departure from the property.
    In your response, you mentioned that final utility bills typically arrive 30 to 60 days after the end of the billing cycle. However, I must emphasize that my residency officially ended in May 2018, and any utility bills pertaining to December 2018 would not be applicable to me. Additionally, despite my request for a record of itemized assessments and validation of the debt, as well as providing detailed information including the original creditor's name, address, and contact information in a certified mail sent on December 20, 2023, I have not received a response from Rent Recovery Solutions.
    Given these circumstances, I demand that this account be promptly removed from my credit report. Continuing to report this erroneous debt is damaging to my credit score and reputation. I urge Rent Recovery Solutions to take immediate action to address this matter and provide resolution.
    I expect a timely response and resolution to this issue. Failure to do so may result in further escalation of this matter, including legal action to protect my rights and financial well-being.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I, ******************************, want to reiterate my firm dispute of this debt. During my residency at the mentioned property from December 2017 to May 2018, I fulfilled all rent and utility obligations promptly. Additionally, until the appearance of this debt collection on my credit report in December 2023, I had not received any communication from either ************************* or Rent Recovery Solutions regarding outstanding charges.
    In response to my inquiries, including a certified letter sent via US Mail on December 29, 2023, Rent Recovery Solutions sent a letter dated January 17, 2024, offering a "discount" on the alleged debt. However, this letter fails to provide clarity regarding the origin or validity of the charges. Therefore, I demand a detailed breakdown of the debt, including the specific dates and nature of the charges.
    I urge Rent Recovery Solutions to provide comprehensive documentation supporting the validity of this debt as per federal law. Furthermore, I request clarification on the nature and origin of the $380.88 being demanded.
    Failure to provide satisfactory documentation and remove this disputed debt from my credit report will leave me with no choice but to pursue legal action against Rent Recovery Solutions to protect my rights and financial well-being.

    I Simply don't understand why your establishment Simply couldn't just make a PHONE CALL to your "Client" in the 1st place. You request for me to send certified mail of proof of what I'm telling you, let it reflect on my credit until you receive my mail a week later, JUST to make the same phone call you could have made months ago when I called and told you this debt was paid? 

     

    You are playing games with my lively hood. Please have this removed from my credit within the next 24 hours or I will hand this over to my lawyers.
