Sage Canada is charging me over ******* to renew for 2025. I am a small home-based business and this outrageous cost is not in my budget. I had phoned Sage and spoke to the mediator whom I thought would rectify the cost but in the end it cost me more? I just use the basic bookkeeping and I do not need everything that is offered. If I do not renew I am put in read only and cannot do nothing with the program, I left an email with the person who sends me the invoice and he never reply's back to me. The store sells the same program for 900 which includes payroll. So why the difference. I asked for a breakdown as to what I am paying for. No clear answer. I am the owner/operator and bookkeeper for my small business and do not have time for a lot of things. I do not spend much time on the computer. I just have to pay my few employees, A/P, A/R. That is it!How can Sage justify the high cost compared Sage at Staples?

Absolutely terrible customer service. Trouble getting product key once purchased online thorugh their site. I have called five times now, lodge two complaints with them and a week later I still have 0 answers as to where the heck my program is I paid $700+ for. All for them to tell me my case file representative will be in touch. Called twice now to have my money given back to me, only to be told again, my case file representative will be in touch. Seven days without any information about this new program I have paid for. No emails, no calls back! Luckily I still have an old program I am able to update my company books and record banking. But, how do they expect anybody to use this software if you are going to be without book updates for any length of days for any company. If you are considering using this program, run. Program is great, customer service is less than terrible. Looking for bookkeeping alternate programs.

Been using the product for 3 months, love it had one issue and tried getting ahold of technical support using this number 1-***-***-3888 and keep getting transferred to technical support out of the country; Sage Sales team indicated all technical support comes out of *******, ** don't give anyone your information if they are not from *******, ** have called the number above 6 times and got a different Country every time. So, either A your sales team has no idea who works on technical support, and you have contracted outside, or someone is hacking your automated system, because each time I get connected someone wants to verify our account with banking information.

I am a small business (contractor) with 4 employees. I have been using ***************************** predecessor Peachtree since the late 90s. The cost has gone from about $300.00 every 3 years to subscription only of around $2000.00 per year. While I think this business model is predatory, my true complaint is every year, their update takes 2 to 3 days of s******* up my system to get everything reinstalled properly at the end of the year to get my office back up and running. Their customer support, I'm sure is inundated with calls as they use their customers as guinea pigs to work out the bugs. I lose more than the $2000.00 per year in productivity every year just to get back up and running. I am doing this while on hold after waiting 2 hours for a call back. I got the call back and after explaining my issues, I was told they were going to remote in on my computer. Now I'm on hold again and it only says "over an hour". These people should literally be shot. If there is any way to avoid this software, do yourself a favor and do so!!!!

I am very disappointed with how Sage 50 Accounting software business is treating its customers and I strongly feel that the system is bleeding its customers money. I started with the software back in **** and it was Simply Accounting at that time. Every year since ****, I had to renew my software understandably since I had to use their payroll service for 11 employees. In 2013 I sold my business and there was only one employee on payroll. I did not need the software support anymore so I stop renewing. In 2014, I purchased Sage 50 Accounting software and have been using its accounting format only for my retirement. I have not required Sage support and payroll deduction information. Then in March 2022, I was coerced into purchasing 2022 Sage software by a very persuasive salesman for a couple of thousands dollar for doing exactly the same thing I have been doing since 2014. After thinking about my situation, I cancel the purchase immediately one hour after the talk with Evan * the salesman. I can't afford to pay this expense now that I am retired. My main complaint is that why can't I just continue to use the accounting format which I legally purchased in 2014 even though technology has changed but my personal accounting information has not. Why must I have to pay for yearly renewal fee that is not affordable and not needed. The accounting format is all I need. This would be easier to use then paper spread sheet. That was why I purchase the program in 2014.I am teaching many health professional young adults voluntarily currently and Sage 50 Accounting will not be one software program I would recommend to any of them.
