1 starAbsolutely horrible company to deal with. They state their process is easy and youre paid weekly through YOUR plan that you pay for through an employer but then take forever to pay you despite your physician sending in all documentation repeatedly. My ** has written me out for three months for a qualifying diagnosis and they ask for documentation every two weeks and refuse to pay weekly as stated. They currently owe me three weeks pay. My physician is frustrated with this process as well. How is anyone supposed to get themselves better and heal when theres constant financial stress from a plan that is supposed to be there when you need it.Review fromJames M

1 starLincoln Financial group is one of the worst companies I've had to deal with. I thought the other reviews were a little over-the-top, but I learned that they are actually accurate. I was trying to port my dad's life insurance over to an individual policy since he was laid off ( I'm also his power-of-attorney). Over the course of 31-days, I spoke with Lincoln financial about 10 times on the phone and exchanged several emails. Some customer service **** were able to get me a quote, some **** insisted that the power-of-attorney was not relevant, some had me sending the legal document to email addresses that were to the individual CSR and not a group in the Lincoln Financial email block, etc. At best, the CSR's are not consistently trained; at worst, they are likely complicit in loose handling of personal information that's begging for identity theft. When I finally got a quote, the one CSR send the documentation to my email, allegedly, and it never arrived. The following day, I had to start all over again, and the *** was insisting I had to fill out yet another form that none of the other ***'s have mentioned. For the sake of your sanity and the protection of personal information and identity, do not use Lincoln Financial Group for any of the relevant product needs.Review fromAdriane T

1 star*** is definable a company that will not do what is right for you. I was led to believe they were on my side and doing everything they could do for me to get my long-term disability. The wording of their letters is completely deceiving and confusing. Long story short, I was granted long-term disability as part of my employee benefits through ***** which *** ultimately denied even though I was awarded SSDI. it took two years to get the **** approved. They did backpay me three years prior and I received ******** immediately. *** led me to believe they were working for me even hiring ***** And ***** attorneys to help me secure SSDI and through subsequent correspondence indicated that once I was rewarded the **** that they would make up the difference to equal what my long-term disability was I have that in writing. Due to them, denying my long-term disability and letting me know my right to appeal within 180 days. I misunderstood that to mean that they had already appealed it using ***** And ***** and that once I was given SSDI then it would retro act the **** I understand now that I shouldve appealed, but I thought *** were working for me not against me to get out of paying my **** Of course it was two years (the time it took to be awarded SSDI) before I understood that I was required to appeal LFGs denial. Of course it was way past the 180 days appeal deadline with LFG. I hold *** responsible for the fact that I now am 100% disabled and not even able to meet my monthly needs financially. Shame on them for deceiving people who are sick, in need and in pain and expecting to understand what it took lawyers to put together. They and their employees are knowledgeable of how this all works. We as the insured trust them to do what is right for us, and I cannot believe that they dont get held accountable for their deceitful behavior. The whole system is ********** sad.Review fromDante M

1 starI was put out on temporary disability through my employer. I filed my claim with Lincoln and was told that it would be approved in a week. It took almost 6 weeks for them to process my claim. It was then processed and sent out direct deposit. When it did not arrive on time I called my claims representative ************************* to let her know I hadn't received it. I called her every day for over a week until I had to reach out to my company and have them call to finally receive a response from her. She then told me on a Friday that she would call me back at 12:00 p.m. to let me know what to do going forward. It is now going on Tuesday and I still have no answers. I have been told by her numerous times that she would call me back at 12:00 p.m. in which she never does. She then sends me an email tonight at 9:45 p.m. saying that there still hasn't been a resolution and that they should be in touch soon. This is now the fourth deposit that was sent out that I have not received and the account number that she claims the money was put into was referenced by the bank and said that they have not received any deposits at all in my name or from that company and it definitely did not go into the account that she claims. (Which is not my account) I had entered my account number and routing number two times so that they had the right information and it is also carried over from my work account that was also direct deposit. I do not understand how a substantial amount of money like this goes missing and no one has any answer as to where it is or what happened after all this time? Needless to say I was put out due to a heart condition and this is not helping my situation at all. I do not recommend using this company in any wayReview fromRebecca G

1 starLincoln is a terrible company that needs to be shut down. I have short term and long term disability insurance with them from my employer. When I initially went on maternity leave it was not am issue the short term was approved until 12/24. My baby DIED and I have been sufferring terrible PTSD and depression. They refuse to let me submit a new claim, they say that they will reopen the old claim but it has been 45 days and still nothing. They denied the leave because I didnt have FMLA but this isnt Maternity leave anymore. Letters and claims have disappeared from my portal. You camt reach a representative and it takea weeks to get a reply but its just stuck in this never ending loop. At this point my phone is about to be shut off, my electric is past due, and I have no way to pay rent this month. I should not be having to deal with this because I have already been threw so much and I was paying out of my check for this service that they refuse to provide. I cant even appeal anything because they wont let me submit a claim. Everytime I talk to someone its some other peoblem thats delaying it etc. Etc. Someone there knows how to fix it. I have all my documents submitted my medical review was approved there is no reason why they can deny my claim so they just choose not to process it or let me submit a new one. I have not maxed out my short term but I can submit a new short term claim or long term claim. This is the worst inaurance company to ever have to deal with. They dont even provide any information on there site about an appeal process or what you can do. You have to figure it out yourself. If you cant then they get away with this behavior. Its terrible. They are making money by refusing to provide the services that you have paid for!Review fromMeghan M

1 starLincoln Financial is a horrible nightmare if you need to file a claim for a critical illness claim. If you do not stay in contact with them constantly, they do not do their job. They will take your money and find a way never to pay out the insurance that you pay for. You can never speak with your claims adjuster or supervisor. They will lie to you and hang up when you call them on their issues.Review fromCharlene P

1 star****** the compensation for the upper echelon of this company. Pretty much all you need to know.I can't get an answer on when I might receive my 67% of my wages. I HAVE CANCER. But my claim is "still under review". They have all the info they need from my employer and my doctor. They want me to grovel...as the ceo counts his 7 figure compensation.Review fromChris V

1 starI have been out of work because of a back injury since July 1st, today is August 16th and I have not recvd any money from my STD insurance. No money has been deposited into my checking acct from Lincoln Financial. I go back to work next week and have not recvd a dime after being out of work for almost 2 monthsReview fromKayleen E.

1 starHORRIBLE company. They do not care if you are paid or not. I was on maternity leave for *************************************************************************** going back to work. I notified LFG of this right after my 6 week check up knowing I would need an extension. It had been over a month and have not gotten an email or phone call back from my claim manger. Ive had to call in every other day and explain the situation over and over to different people and I get a different response every time. I am now working with one of their managers who still has not done anything to help me with my claim. I will now go without pay while Im home with my 4 year old, 2 month old, my husband being deployed and myself still trying to heal from complication. This company had been a total mess and does not care about the well being or income of others to survive.
