For some reason, it's very difficult to get to someone who can address the issue. It's crazy that you go to a local hospital and you have to deal with 5 or 6 providers when the hospital should be responsible for all care provided. The hospital should be required to deal with the billing for everyone. Looks like our County Commissioners need to revisit how hospitals operate in the county.Sincerely,

I am reaching out regarding a significant issue with my medical records in ********************** and the billing process for radiology services I received in August. At the time, I underwent radiology procedures for my neck and abdomen. Unfortunately, there was an error in how my name was recorded in your system, which led to my insurance claim being initially rejected.Unaware of the error, I paid the full bill of $910 out of pocket. It was only later that I realized the mistake. I then took the necessary steps to correct the information and submitted the claim again to my insurance provider. After reviewing the updated claim, my insurance confirmed that the procedures were covered under my plan.Despite this confirmation, I have yet to receive a refund for the $910 I paid. On 7/10/23 I had a procedure done. I was required to pay my 10% out of pocket. Later my insurance company verified I was covered at 100% and sent in the total amount due. Northside Radiology has confirmed that I am due a refund but will not issue it to me. I have called (and has my health advocate working with me) numerous timesto inquire on the status of my refund. We have called 1 to 2 times a month. It has been 12 months, and we are told they are still reviewing the account and wait 2 more weeks. Yesterday I spent 2 hours on the phone and spoke with 3 different team members who have all promised that this will be resolved. I was also told I would receive a call back and that has not happened. The amount of time spent to get this small amount of money back is absurd, but at this time it is a matter of principle. I am not giving up; I just don't know what to do next.Business Response

While I am still awaiting my refund, it is important to note that I personally corresponded with this business as did a Health Advocate who was helping me resolve this issue. I have no other option except to continue to wait for my refund which has been in process for well over 6 months now. While I did receive a response from the business, I still have doubts that this will truly be resolved based on the historical number of attempts that have been made.
I've added details of how many attempts were made by the Health Advocate, and this is in addition to the number of times I personally called.

On June 10th 2024 I had an MRI. The total before filing my insurance was *******. The amount my insurance said I was responsible for was ******. *** kept billing me for ******* even though my insurance saidI was only responsible for ******. I told *** I would be happy to pay that amount. *** said they did not have a contract with my ****************** I contacted my insurance company and they informed that *** was under contract. I tried on numerous occasions to call *** and all I got was we will not accept the lower amount that the insurance had contracted with *** for my MRI. Northside Radiology Associates refused to apply a check sent from my attorney from a car accident on Aug 23, 2023. They received and cashed the check Jan 2024, there is a overage of payment and they refused to credit the account. They have caused distress between the attorney and I there is some shandy business of why they refuse to return the over payment of $772.18.Business Response

At the suggestion of my family care physician, I inquired about an elective Calcium Cardiac Scan.I called Northside Radiology Associates to ask about the cost. I was instructed by the ***resentative that the procedure was NOT covered by insurance and that full payment of $100 was necessary upfront.Bc the price was reasonable, I decided to proceed. I paid and had the scan on November 3, 2023. On August 22, 2024almost TEN months after I underwent the scanI received a bill from Northside Radiology Associates for over FIVE TIMES what I had been quoted for the scans price.I called customer service to tell them I had paid for the procedure in full upfront. The *** said an investigation would be conducted. A month later I received the same bill. The procedure was entirely elective and of no clinical utility to me. Literally the only reason I decided to get the scan was because of the price I was quoted. Insurance information was not asked for at any point prior to, or even after, the procedure. In fact, it was understoodand emphasizedthat the scan was not covered by insurance, rendering insurance coverage ******* NO point was there the mention of even the possibility of an *additional charge* above and beyond what I paid upfront. It is unconscionable to me that an institution as putatively ***utable as Northside Radiology Associates would be involved in such a practice. I do not have the money to pay this capricious bill for an amount that I never consented to. Moreover, I am irritated beyond belief that this is how Northside Radiology Associates chooses to conduct business. I never plan to use this institution again for ANY procedure whatsoever. And, unless I am told expediently there was some kind of error, I will be highly motivated to broadcast my discontent with Northside Radiology Associates in every single way that I can, so that others dont get SCAMMED.Please assist me in correcting this situation ASAP.Business Response

I had the unpleasant experience of being contacted by a collection company regarding my account **********. On 4/5/204, I received a bill showing my responsibility after insurance payment was $43.09. I issued the attached check to Northside on 4/29/24 and mailed it with the payment statement to Northside Radiology Associates P O Box ****** *********************. On 5/15/24 I received another bill showing payment due of $43.09. I contacted Northside with the check number and date it was cashed i.e. 5/3/24.The customer service rep said the bill must have passed in the mail. She assured me that I did not need to take any further action. I failed to get her name or ask for a ticket number. That was my mistake on my part. Then the call came from the collection company. I spoke with *************** on 7/17/24 who created a ticket number CR502543 and advised she would contact Northside to research the payment. I also immediately contacted Rhema at Northside who said she has no records of my call in May and that it would take 45 days to research. She advised they will not contact me back with the results that I have to call them. I am very upset that Northside personnel did not competently do their job of applying my payment to my account, I am also disappointed that they have no record of my call in May and immediately hired a collection company without any further efforts on their part. I would like an immediate reply from both Northside and the collection company that my account has been paid in full and I am in good standing. I would like confirmation that my credit will not be affected by Northsides incompetence.Business Response

I received a bill from Northside Radiology (4/16/2024) stating: 01/30/24 "ultrasound, breast, unilateral, real time image documentation, including axialla when performed. Location of services: Northside Hospital ******************** ($101.78)02/01/24 "ultrasound, breast, unilateral, real time image documentation, including axialla when performed. Location of services: Northside Hospital ******************** ($101.78)02/29/24 "BCBS of GA your insurance has notified us that this amount is your deductible please submit payment. This was with an adjustment made of $325.22 **this line item is duplicated on the bill**I called and spoke to ******* because I did not receive an ultrasound on 1/30/2024. Since they claim I received an ultrasound with the ********************* I should have two things (1) results, in the form of images and (2) a letter stating the results of those images. ******* had me contact the records department and the ********************* Neither department have records. The records department told me that when I speak to the ******************** and Radiology department specifically ask for my images on a CD and to state that I will come to the Hospital to pick up those records. The ******************** stated that they cannot send me sonogram images because I did not have a ultrasound done in there facility on 1/30/2024. I called the Radiology department again, after receiving the bill once again. I asked them for copies of my images. I asked for the bill to be split so I can pay what I owe. When I received the 2/1/2024 bill only, bill paid. I called again and asked for the same records and to date I have yet to receive either. Then, I receive in the mail a collections letter for the same images (1/30/2024) that they do not have records of and cannot provide my results for. When they can provide me the information I asked for then I will be more than happy to pay the bill. I will not pay for something I did not receive.Business Response

I haven't heard any more from Northside Radiology. The lady at BBB provided an email with an update in July stating that they are "looking into it." However, they sent this erroneous bill to a collections agency who keeps harassing me over this.

My wife was submitted to an ultrasound at one of their offices location (Endocrine Specialists of *******), with her doctor, who is covered under our insurance plan. After this fact, and unbeknownst to us, they sent the ultrasound files to a third party (Northside Radiology Associates) to be interpreted by another doctor. Then we received a bill from Northside Radiology, saying that their doctor is out of network in our insurance, and so the charge was not covered!!! I called the insurance, Endocrine Associates and Northside Radiology, and the offices said that was "standard procedure" to have someone else analyze results. Well, but I was not consulted, or informed, that my wife's results would be sent elsewhere, and that was going to be out of network. If Northside Hospital is a healthcare provider, I would only assume that all their workers are also part of the same insurance provider's network.. but it seems that this is not true. What are we to do, ask all the time if the provider who is in the same hospital, the same building, is also a part of the insurers' network??? this is just ridiculous. How can they do that??? It is like taking your car to a shop, receiving an estimate for $100, and then when you go pick the car up, they say it is actually another $500 because they had to send the car elsewhere, as they "do not interpret the results in this shop"... without your consent!!!!!Business Response

Well, you see where the problem lies... you would THINK you are at Northside Hospital SYSTEM, but they break it down in numerous entities to make it harder for us to see what a scam they are running.
Would you reassign this complaint to Northside Radiology then? Of course, their answer will be that they have nothing to do with it, since Endocrine Specialists of *******, part of Northside Hospital, sent them the patient MRI for interpretation, and that is what they did...
I am telling you... there should be an investigation into these practices.

On July 18th ***** ,I (******) had a mammography at the imagining center / ***************************** , Ga . as a routine yearly checkup . Then in a week I received a bill from Northside Radiology Associates in the amount of $210 . I had never heard of Northside Radiology so I did not pay it . In Two weeks I received another one , Then another two weeks this one which I paid thinking , my Cigna health was not going to pay it . Then in about three weeks , I received a notice that I had been billed in error , and they was going to refund my $210 . So , for the past seven months , I have called , emailed , and decided that this was a sorry business practice . I have called their customer service and that is a waste of times as for the past five calls got several different reasons why the check is not in the mail . ************ refers you over to ************ when you give them the patient's account number .
