Called about paying the outstanding water balance. Was told the account is not in the name of either *********************************** or ****************************. Because I cannot verify the account, they couldnt divulge any information. I asked what to do and was told to set up new service. I submitted all the required documents and then received the email stating we were denied. Were in a catch 22 right now with the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management.Uploaded: More in depth details of situation, the application, the denial letter, the disconnect notice, the closing statement and Limited Warranty Deed for the property of ******************************************************************************************.Initial Complaint

Case Number: CS1918060 Account Number: ********** To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to formally report an unresolved issue that has been ongoing since 2022. There was a water leak on the street near our business premises, which affected our pipeline. This issue was reported at the time and is clearly not the responsibility of our *********** a bridal salon, our water usage is minimal and limited to basic restroom facilities. Despite this, our account reflects an outstanding balance of $7,166.77, which is inaccurate and unjustified given the circumstances. We have filed a recent case number CS1918060, which was supposed to be subject to a 90-day investigation. However, despite this timeline, we have yet to receive any resolution or an updated report on the matter. We urgently request that the account be corrected and that appropriate action be taken to adjust the bill accordingly. Your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated, as this situation has been pending for far too long.Thank you for your immediate consideration.Business Response

I sold my investment property in Atlanta on December 13th, 2023. I am experiencing issues with closing my account with ******************************************* and receiving reimbursement for my overpayments. In January 2024 upon receiving a bill, I called Watershed customer service to close my account # *********. I was told I could close the account online. However, I was unable to close the account online and receive a message That account is unavailable. It appeared that Atlanta Watershed had closed my account # *********. In February 2024, I received another bill. I called Watershed customer service and informed the agent I no longer owned the property. The agent instructed me to submit forms to close the account and request reimbursement. I paid the outstanding balance, as required on the form, to the ensure the account was current. There has been no further communication regarding account # ********* from the ********************** office to date. When I log into the account online, it shows an overpayment of $80.00. In March 2024, I was again billed. I called Watershed customer service a third time and learned that there was a 2nd account, # *********, in my name. I paid the required bill to bring the account up to date and closed the account online. I continue to receive current bills via email from Atlanta Watershed for account # *********. I paid a total of $52.35 into the second account that I closed in March for water service from January thru March of 2024 on property I do not own. Each time I called customer service, with 40+ minute hold time, they indicated the issue was resolved. Despite all efforts to close the accounts, I received yet another Watershed bill in April 2024 for current water usage in my name. I will not pay the April 2024 bill.Initial Complaint

I lived in Atlanta, Ga and owned a house. I sold my house on November 10, 2023. I have a CREDIT on my City of Atlanta, Department of Watershed Management account for $245.07, which I am due. I am also due a refund of my security deposit of $80.The City of Atlanta, Department of Watershed Management is refusing to refund me what I am owed unless I provide them with 5 years of bank statements showing payments to them. This does not make any sense and it seems this company is trying to keep money that is rightfully owed to me.That company has access to all of the invoices they sent me. They can see all of the payments I have made to them. I do not see why I have to prove to them that they owe me money. This is a scam to keep peoples money. This is not fair to customers who try to keep ahead on their payments. They would not be asking me to provide them with 5 years of bank statements if I owed them. They would not have to be proven that they were owed any money.I cannot supply them with 5 years of bank statements.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I have contacted this company multiple times and I have either been told to resubmit the Refund form or submit 5 years of bank statements to prove I am *********** my full refund. The City of Atlanta, Department of Watershed Management has all of the invoices/bills and they should review them. All of my payments were sent electronically DIRECTLY from my bank.
All I want is what I am ***********. I paid my bill on time, never missed a bill, paid what was more than due to have a credit on my account just to make sure my account stayed in perfect standing in case I had to miss a payment or two.
Please refund me my total refund due of $325.07$80.00 security deposit + ****** credit on account.
Sincerely,
*************************Initial Complaint

I call Watershed in the 1st or 2nd week of April 2023 to schedule a disconnection of my water because I was selling my home.I asked for it to be disconnected April 14, 2023 which was my closing date. They seem to have processed that request. My account number with ********************** is ********* (Please note that Watershed has name spelled wrong as ********************** on the account). I have called ************ countless times and waited for hours for someone to pick up. I have drove from ******* to ******* to speak to someone in person at Watershed about my bill.I was assured the issue would be resolved by a lady at Watershed, but I have received another bill through email, and they did not adjust my water bill charges to reflect the period of service only up to April 14, 2023.June 1, 2023, I spoke to a lady in person and even filled out a few forms and they made a copy of my driver's license.I explained that I received a bill for *** that charged me for that month, and I have not been at the service address since April 14, 2023, which is the day I sold my home (**********************************************************).I wanted to ensure that they adjust my bill to fit that time for charging me so I could pay the last bill.I was told that the new owner that currently lived there already set up water service there and that my service was automatically terminated when that happened; however, that is clearly not the case because I am still receiving bills and it is now June 2023. I was also told that I would receive a last bill at my new address by mail (*************************************************************************************) however, I have not received a last bill by mail, instead I got a bill emailed and it added more money to what I didn't pay for *** 2023. I haven't paid this because I need this bill adjusted so I won't pay over the amount. I have made several attempts to contact by phone I'm not sure why the phone just rings.Lastly, I have attached a copy of the most recent bill I received to this email.Initial Complaint

I recently sold my home located at ***********************************, Atlanta, **. *****. During the closing, I was informed that the property had an outstanding water bill of $423.54. I was also informed that this bill was the builder's outstanding bill, but after doing research the bill was in fact incurred during my ownership of the property. After reviewing the bill, it's obvious that the account was overcharged during the month of September for $352.60. I've been in contact with Atlanta Watershed and was informed that due to the age of the account charge there's nothing that can be done. I'm seeking a refund of the money I was made to pay because I was not made aware of the outstanding bill until my closing February 7, 2023. The outstanding bill should've been brought to my attention when the **** was changed into my name, but due to the negligence of Atlanta Watershed it went unknown until the sell of the house in 2023. I've attached the bill showing the obvious overcharge and ask for a refund of $352.60. Since selling my home, I've been in contact with Atlanta Watershed several times trying to settle my final bill and receive my deposit of $80 back. Given the numerous customer service reps I've communicated with and the misinformation I've received from each one, I would never move in area serviced by Atlanta Watershed due to their poor business practice.Initial Complaint

On the 13th of April the amount of $187.00 was due to the watershed. I paid it on the due date which was the 13th of April and the payment processed from my bank 4/14/23. Today is 4/19/23 and the city shut off my water. I called Atlanta 311 and talked to 2 reps. *** first one, a man stated that he did not see any account info as he was not working accounts. *** second time I called a lady told me my account was still "active". ***re was nothing from the city of Atlanta saying they were cutting off water or anything today nor yesterday for my home. *** technician that cut the water off did not leave any disconnection letters or knock nothing. Both reps told me they did not know what the issue was and assigned a case to me. I was told I would need to wait until 4/20/23 for assistance. I have children in my home the youngest 3yrs old. I paid the bill when they asked which was the 13th. *** 13th and 14th were on week days Thursday and Friday respectively. Even if it took time to proces a payment this was from a debit card not an ach so it should have not taken 5 days for the payment to show on their end as the payment took 1 day to process from my bank.Initial Complaint

This is in regards to a recent BBB case#******** filed last September 2022. The Atlanta Watershed department dug a hole in my driveway to repair a water leak that occurred at the house across the street from my house. I filed a complaint with the *** of my neighborhood because they would not respond to communication I had sent to them to ask for assistance in getting the hole repaired by the Atlanta watershed **** since the *** representative called me to request permission for the workers to use my property to repair the water leak. It was determined eventually that I was responsible to contact the water ****. to ask them to repair my lot. I contacted them first last year 10/22 and again on 2/10/23 (case# CS1197588 for restoration services due to water related repairs) because they failed to repair the hole from the first request/case back in October 2022, in fact they closed the case citing they made the repair when they only repaired the home across the street. So I had to create another case 2/10/23 (case#cs1197588) that was supposed to expedited and still they have not made effort to repair the hole. I am trying to sell my house and this is interfering with my plans. This situation is very frustrating. I need help with this, please.Initial Complaint

on 3/30/2022 at 9:36am, I spoke to ****************** who opened a case for a $153.82 credit owed on my deceased father's account no. ********** who told me she reissued the check because I have not received the check on behalf of the estate. The case number provided to me for by Moniques is CSQ614496. To date: May 23, 2022, I have not received this credit in the form of a check or otherwise and would need to add to the inventory of the estate. I would like the company to reissue the check asap.
