    Pattern of Complaint:

According to information in BBB files, Olympic Auto Sales, Inc. has a pattern of complaint alleging Repair, Contract, and Sales Issues.

Specifically, consumers complain they purchase vehicles from Olympic Auto Sales, Inc. giving down payments only to have the vehicle breakdown within days of purchase. Some consumers state Olympic Auto Sales, Inc. sends someone out to have their vehicle repossessed before the initial payment is even due and in some cases they do not get their vehicle back. While other consumers complain regarding their financial agreement through a third party finance company, Euro Financial Services, LLC, owned by the same owner as Olympic Auto Sales, Inc.

On May 6, 2024, BBB sent correspondence to Olympic Auto Sales, Inc. to request their voluntary cooperation in eliminating the pattern of complaint.

On May 17, 2024, BBB met with Olympic Auto Sales, Inc. to request their assistance in eliminating the pattern of complaint. Olympic Auto Sales, Inc. supplied BBB with the following as a means to eliminate the pattern of complaint:

First Step we provide 3 Year warranties with all vehicles sold so if a vehicle breaks down it is covered by the warranty company unless there was negligence from the customer in servicing the vehicle
Second step customer get automatic text and email reminders that their payments are due from our Related Finance Company Euro so they can make their payments on time or schedule a promise to pay date
Giving customers an amortization schedule outlining all their payment dates and amounts on it so they know exactly when they are due to make payments

This aspect of the Business Profile will be updated once additional information becomes available.

Certainly:"On January 24, 2024, I visited Olympic Auto Sales with the intention of purchasing a 2017 Xc90 ***** T8 Momentum, as advertised on their website. However, upon arrival, I discovered that the vehicle was not available. Instead, I agreed to purchase a 2016 Xc90 hybrid with higher mileage (117 miles at the time of purchase), as it was presented as an alternative option.During the initial days of ownership, I encountered significant issues with the vehicle. Firstly, the infotainment system malfunctioned, necessitating a replacement costing $1,437.98. Shortly thereafter, the engine experienced complications, resulting in an additional repair expense of $3,983.82.Regrettably, these challenges persisted, as the hybrid battery failed completely just two weeks later, with a repair estimate of $7,281.00.The reliability issues have severely impacted my ability to maintain employment, leading to the loss of one job due to lack of transportation. In an attempt to address these concerns, I reached out to **** at Olympic Auto Sales to explore potential solutions, but unfortunately, I have yet to receive a satisfactory response.Given the circumstances and the substantial financial and professional setbacks I have incurred, I am seeking a full refund of the purchase price. I am open to discussing alternative resolutions, but I urge prompt attention to this matter to ensure a fair and equitable outcome."

      Hello *******:

After reviewing your account here are the facts of the matter.  You purchased a 2016 Vovlvo XC90 from Olympic Auto Sales but you financed it with another company called ************** Services, LLC. At the time of purchase a 3 year thrid party warranty was provided with the deal. On February 15 we were made aware that the vehicle had issues with the hybrid battery and alternator. AOn february 8 you called in the third party warranty and requested a cancellation , by doing so they refunded your account principal by $2300.

Your irressponsible actions by cancellign the warranty has put you in a bad situation. We also received word from your finance company ************** Services LLC that you are behind on your payments on the account and the vehicle is now up for repossession.

We are willing to help you out even after your irresponsible behavior by cancelling the warranty but first you need to sort out your defaulted account with ************** Services. Once you take care of what you owe on your account and they agree to keep financing you then we can step in and refer you to a mechanic shop named EAS that specializes with ***** hybrid cars and can fix it at a discounted price they have a payment plan so you wont have to come out of pocket in a vast amount all at once.

It is unfortunate the hybrid battery malfunctioned while you had the vehicle but all that could have been avoided if you kept your warranty active and made your payments on time with ************** Services. We wopuld have stepped in and helped , and are still offering to help but once you get your situation and account active and current.

      Best Regards

      Hello *******:

Unfotunatley as per the contract you signed the downpayment you put on the vehicle and payment is non refundable. Please be aware that your actions have caused harm and loss to the business aswell. Secondly the vehicle was in good condition when you purchased it , we even offered you the chance to check it with a mechanic before purchase because we stand behind the quality of the car when sold. Now with a hybrid battery it is impossible to predict the future, no mechanic in the world can know if a batter is about to malfunction, but we have procedures to protect you with that , this is why you had a 3 year warranty with the vehicle that you purposly turned around and cancelled it.

Your actions have consequences and now that things went bad you are blamming us when we provided every avenue to protect you. With all that we are still willing to help you because we are that type of company, but you have to get your account current and in good standing with ************** Services, if you do not then we cannot help you in any way.

It is up to you to take the responsible steps moving forward so we will be happy to assist once that happens

I bought a ******** GL the week of December 08, 2023. I had 2 pick up payments of **** each. With that being said my grandma died a few days later which we had a funeral a week later but still managed to pay the first pick up pay meant that was due. Upon coming back from the funeral we reached out and asked for an extension due to life changes. So my car was repoed due to the last payment which **** accounting manager told me it was repoed due to the miss payment that was for the tag and registration. I have never heard in history your car being repoed due to nonpayment for tags and title so now I am out **** and no car. This company is horrible and needs to be closed down. I want my money back.

      Hello ******:
Here are the facts of the case, you purchased the 2015 MB GL450 on 12/6/2023 from Olympic Auto Sales but you financed it with ************** Services, LLC. Please do not hold us accountabile for the repossession since we are different companies.

We sent a request to see what happened with your account and this is the response as follows:

Per your contract you owed a payment on 12/29/2023 .

You called in to ask for an extension because of your unfortunate personal circumstances and ************** Services was happy to ***** you the extention to 1/5/2024 as you requested.

You failed to make that promise payment on that date, ************** Services, called you , texted you and emailed you about your payment multiple times with no answer from you. On 1/10/2024 , 5 days later of no communication ,your vehicle was  repossessed. The finance company lost all trust in you as a customer because of the broken promise you made and is no longer willing to finance you. They gave you 10 days to find another finance comany or to pay off the loan owed.

No refund will be issued as stated in the terms of the contract. Please be aware that the finance company incured a loss on your account after selling the collateral and there is still a deficiency on your account of $6279.

We are sad it had to come to this but the finance company did work with you in your troubled times and yet you defaulted on your payment, that is a breach of contract and you were well aware of the consequences.

We wish you the best of luck but there is nothing we can do as Olympic Auto Sales, please only rate us on the quality of the vehicles we sell and not the financng part since that is a choice you make on behalf of your finances.

      Hello Ebony:

During the time that the vehicle was being fixed no payments were collected from you, the company worked with you and went above and beyond, on top of that the warranty covered ************, now that your vehicle was fixed you were making your payments on time, seems that when you lost your job recently you could not make your payments and that's when the car was repossessed, the vehicle came back in good working condition, please do not blame losing your job on the vehicle since that was not the case, the vehicle is in good working condition. We understand this is a hard time but the financial bank had to take action at your defaulted account. You always have the option to go finance with another bank and get the vehicle back.

This used car dealer defrauded me out of $1200 with unfair and deceptive practices. They added non-governmental fees onto the purchase price of a used car vehicle after written agreement was made. They demanded payment for fuel and insurance tax fees for shipping, although I am not required to pay such fees. The dealership then refused to refund my money or ship the vehicle as they promised. I am in *** and the dealer is in Georgia. I was forced into using CashApp to make the deposit and shipping payments which does not have buyer protection. The dealer was extremely rude, insulting and condescending when speaking to me. They are now ignoring me and my requests for resolution to the issue. I have all our communication in writing and my proof of my payments if I need to provide them.

You also mentioned that you used a cash app as a form for a deposit. Our dealership does not accept any deposits and we certainly do not accept any cash app transactions.
It may seem that someone has scammed you into thinking you were purchasing a vehicle from us, can you please send us all the documents you have to investigate further.

I recently went to Olympic auto to purchase a vehicle for my business. The dealer made a clerical error in the paperwork resulting in them being underpaid. Rather than them going back and refunding the loan for the correct amount, and getting a new approved loan they refused, and forced me to pay costs out of pocket in excess of $1000. This could have been corrected had due diligence been done on their end on so many different levels and occasions. Im disgusted with this dealership and owner would not recommend.

      Dear ******* :

After looking into your case we see that you provided us with a document showing you are 100% disabled veteran so that you become exempt from paying the vehicle sales tax of $1326.27. After submitting your paperwork to the county to register your vehicle the *********************** got back to ** stating that you already used your exemption on one active vehicle that you currently own and are illegible to get a tax exempt on the 2015 ******** C300 you purchased and you owe the county the amount in $1326.27.

All this transpired with your knowledge and you were aware of all the events. The fact that you are pointing a finger that our finance department undersold the vehicle and that it was a clerical error is completely false and we do not take your accusation lightly. You agreed and had to pay the $1326.27 to the county to avoid any fraudulent misconception in trying to avoid paying taxes which is a civil offense.

      Please govern yourself accordingly.

I purchased a 2008 *** in October 2020. The cash price was $6,999 and to finance the car would add an additional $3,000 bringing the total to $9,000. After the tax, tag, title and finance charges, it brought the total to approximately $14,000 for a 2008. We were told at the time of signing by the salesman they do same as cash payoff in 90 days. I paid $3,000 down, which to me left me owing around $4,500 for the car. When I went to pay the $4,500 in 90 days I was told there is no such thing as a same as cash 90 days payoff and continue paying biweekly. We were doubling our payments to pay the car off soon because of the bad deal we were given. I was in an accident in June 2022. While waiting on the insurance company to pay the car off. Olympic auto sales placed a negative remark on my credit report. When I called to speak with someone about it, I was transferred three times until I got a customer service rep. *** agreed to correct the negative report, but as today it hasnt been corrected. This is bad business and they are giving out bad business deals. This hurt my score tremendously, I would like a refund of my deposit in the amp of $3,000.

      Hello *************************:

After reviewing your account we have come to this conclusion. Your account does show paid off on our end as of 10/17/2022 by the insurance company when they sent out the check balance. Please note that it takes the Credit Companies ***** days to update their records (do not penalize us for their lag time). As well it is your responsibility to pay your car note on time even if you got into a total loss, contract payments are still due so they do not show as late payments. You will not receive any refund since you totaled your vehicle and paid off the account in full.

As a gesture of good faith and to show you that we do look out for our customers and we want them to build their credit and have better future opportunities we will speak to the insurance company and try and roll back the payment as sent on your due date of 6/17/22 instead of 10/17/22 , that way your account will show paid off in full without a late payment.

Again our company has thousands of good customers like you that appreciate our efforts to help build their credit when they make payments on time and pay in full, that way they can come back and get better interest rates and better deals with our company or any other company for that matter. We hope you will take in consideration our efforts and hope you remove any unfair bad reviews of our company.

On 8/24 I purchased a 2015 ******** **** CLA 250 VIN # *****************. I was provided with a pricing breakdown (attached) for the vehicle by Sales Manager **** (last name unknown). This pricing breakdown was the basis for the decision to purchase as documented in the text communications between **** and myself. When the vehicle was delivered on 8/30 it was identified that the options/packages listed on the pricing breakdown provided by **** were not a part of the vehicle. A simple VIN search revealed this. Therefore I seek to have the dollar amount of the missing options that formed the basis of the purchase refunded to me. The total refund amount sought is $2,025.00.

The management has reviewed the deal and has confirmed that the options on the vehicle stated in the book out are missing.  The book out for the vehicle was priced at $24,225, the options listed are at $2,025 , therefore the correct book out is at $22,200. The vehicle was sold at $22,795. We are willing to discount the vehicle further and refund ***************************** the difference of $595 to reflect the book out mentioned and keep our customer happy.

***************************** Purchased and financed a 2015 *** X3 from Olympic Auto Sales on 02/25/2022. The vehicle had ****** miles when sold and was in great condition and fully serviced before sale. The vehicle also cam with a 3 year warranty to protect the customer from any mishaps. On 6/21/2022 customer called and said she took her vehicle to a *** mechanic shop and they said she needed an engine and would cost her around $13,000. We decided to step in and help, so we had the vehicle taken to another mechanic shop that confirmed that the engine has seized. They also confirmed that vehicle was not serviced since the purchase. Customer did not take care of her vehicle. They were able to give her a discount because we have a good relationship with the mechanic shop and wanted to help her out, they quoted $9500. We also called in her warranty company to help out and they agreed to cover portion of the engine , also with our help. Customer needs to understand that it is her vehicle and her responsibility to maintain her vehicle and keep up with her payments on the account . She still owes a large portion of the finance portion and has a vehicle that is broken because she did not take care of her vehicle or her account. We are still willing to help the customer out with getting the mechanics to fix her vehicle and the warranty company to cover part of the damages so she can get back into her vehicle and drive. Our company stands behind its products and quality of vehicles , we have been in business for over 13 years and our vehicles are all warrantied because of the quality we sell all but a few customers ever have problems with our used vehicles. Sometimes mishaps happen but we cannot be penalized for the incompetence of very few customers who are unwilling to take care of their vehicles. Again we are here to help get her vehicle fixed if the customer takes initiative .
