Shumate Is Great!! This past Monday our daughters HVAC went out and we had a very dificult time finding a contractor to do a service call due to the high heat we have been experiencing. On Tuesday we called the contractor that replaced both of our HVAC systems and they are one of the larger contractors in the Atlanta area.. They were suppose to call us back and never did. After calling several other HVAC contractors including Shumate, Shumate was the only one that could come out the same day. They said they were swamped but would work us in as they had another service call in our area. The Shumate service person (******************) came out that afternoon and he was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. After discussing the options with ***** we decided to have the entire HVAC system replaced as it was over 21 years old. We had ***** schedule to have a sales rep. come out the next day about getting a new HVAC system. In the mean time we called several other contractors to get a rough estimate of what a new system would cost. The Shumate sales rep. **************** came out on Wednesday he was also very informative and a pleasure to do business with and he came up with a very good price to replaced the entire HVAC plus our daughter's hot water tank as it was also due to be replaced.The Shumate installers came out on time at 8AM Friday and had the new HVAC system and a new hot water tank installed by noon Friday. I can't say enough how pleased we are with the entire process with Shumate. All their employees evolved have been with Shumate long term which tells us they treat their employees well and they in turn do the same for their customers. My with and I will be switching to Shumate when our labor warranty runs out with our current contractor.

Shumate Plumbing came to our home for 2 very simple repairs. One repair was to replace an outside water faucet. The second repair was to replace 2 valve stems on the faucets in our master bath. The plumber was very professional and inspected the faucets. He took apart the valves in our master bath and then went outside to his truck to prepare the estimate. The estimate was $704.00 plus the service charge. We felt the charges were extremely excessive but the plumber had already taken apart the valves and we felt we had no choice but to have the repairs completed. The plumber did wave the service fee as we felt the charges were extremely high. Based on the receipt for services, the plumber was in our house for 1 hour and 34 minutes. For this 1 hour and 34 minutes he charged us $704.00. This is an example of taking advantage of the consumer and price gouging. We will never use or recommend this company again.
