    I am writing to complain about Hi-Tone of ********, a gym in ********, *******. I have faced multiple issues that left me frustrated and concerned about their practices. Despite my attempts to address the matter directly, I haven't obtained the necessary information. I was a former member of Anytime Fitness under a one-year contract. The gym transitioned to Hi-Tone of ******** and continued to charge me membership fees accordingly until January 2023 when my last auto-draft payment stopped leading me to assume my membership was canceled. On May 12, 2023, a **********-based collection agency called, demanding payment for an unknown gym without providing sufficient information or verifying legitimacy. I refused to pay without confirmation. Trying to contact the ******** gym on May 13 was futile, and on May 15, the collection agency couldn't provide my membership agreement, suggesting I contact the gym directly. When I contacted the ************, ** location, they directed me back to the ******** location, which had phone line technical difficulties and requested text communication. These events raise concerns about ******* of ********' professionalism and transparency. The lack of communication during the transition and the inability to obtain my membership agreement question the collection agency's claims. I kindly request the Better Business Bureau's thorough investigation to determine if Hi-Tone of ******** followed proper protocols during the transition, verify the collection agency's authenticity and claim, and assist me in obtaining my membership agreement. The Better Business Bureau's involvement can bring clarity and fair treatment. I have faced obstacles and unanswered questions in my attempts to resolve the matter with the gym. Your prompt investigation and action to protect consumers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention. I anticipate a swift resolution and am available for further information.

    I emailed the Fayetteville location twice in October 2023 at the email address listed on the company's website to cancel my membership, because I had moved an hour away. No one replied. I called multiple times, and received no answer. I finally got someone at the Fayetteville location on the phone 3 months later and was advised that I need to cancel through the billing company, Peak. After providing Peak with the notices I sent to Hitone, Peak claimed I was in a contract and would not be eligible for cancellation until March ****. However, I never signed a contract with ****** and had been in a month to month agreement since the gym was Workout Anytime. I asked twice for Peak to send me the purported contract, and it never did, because there was no contract. However, **** refused to honor my October 2023 cancellated date, despite me providing a chain of communication with attempted communications to the Fayetteville location.I looked on Hitone's website, clicked the "terms and conditions" link, which directs you to the home page--not the terms and conditions. I even searched my email for the terms and conditions or any notice for the method to cancel. There was nothing. There was no way to know the proper procedure for cancelling. Had the Fayetteville location responded to the two emails I sent or answered the phone, I would have had notice of the proper method by which I should cancel. Under these circumstances, my notice to the Fayetteville location was reasonable, yet Peak still will not honor the requested date.
