In June 2023 the owner of 1st National Roofing, LLC in **********, **, *****************, walked out on the job after learning that the roof did not pass county inspection. I asked him to come back and finish the job and notified him there are still active leaks. He refuses to finish the job and he has offered to pay me an amount that does not cover the expenses. 1st National replaced my roof and gutters initially in November 2019 with a 5 year warranty. The roof and gutters have been leaking since they were installed. The company initially tried to convince me the problem was my windows, and I made many repairs at my expense. Then I was able to prove the leak was coming from the roof and they started making repairs, but often the workers would damage my house more instead of fixing the problem. The roof kept leaking and causing damage to many areas of my house because there were so many leaks. On a recorded video, the owner finally acknowledged this and he replaced the whole roof in March 2023. The county inspector informed him of the requirements for the roof to pass but the crew kept doing their job the wrong way and the owner did not stop them because he "doesn't like controversy." The new roof was just as bad or worse than the original. The gap for the ridge vent was cut incorrectly and it was too long. There were areas of roof that had no underlayment or other protection and just a single layer of shingles. And it kept leaking. So then they closed up the ridge vent and added box vents. But they did not correct the flashing or drip edge or torn shingles. The roof still leaks, and water can be seen dripping onto the top plate of the master bedroom using a scope camera during rain. My house is in ruins, the bedroom smells like a swamp, there are 2 major areas of mold in the attic, drywall is damaged, a lot of siding is missing, insulation needs to be replaced, windows are disassembled, and grass is destroyed. The company owes me for a roof and repair of damages.

The team at 1st National is dedicated to providing exceptional service and making each customer 100% satisfied with the outcome. In rare cases we discover preexisting issues or other challenges during the installation. Our team works to remedy any and all unknown factors to make sure the finished product exceeds expectations. In this case after multiple attempts to find solutions to an ongoing problem, 1st National Roofing has offered a full refund of the purchase price plus an allowance for additional expenses incurred by the homeowner.

I am rejecting this response because:

The amount offered by 1st National Roofing does not cover the cost of a new roof and the damages caused by their faulty work.  The owner, *****************, has assessed the damages and he authorized me in writing to have the repairs done, but now he is refusing to pay for the repairs that have been done and he is refusing to cover the repairs that still need to be done.  The roof still has an active leak cause by faulty installation.  Flashing is missing in the areas that are leaking and one area identified as actively leaking is an area that 1st National knocked a hole into when they installed the roof.  I lived at this house for 10 years before the roof was replaced and we never had any issues with leaking.  The leaking started after 1st National installed their roof.  They are still trying to trick me into believing there is a problem with my house, but I have had the property inspected and the problem is with their roof.  The inspection report is attached.  Also, the county inspector advised 1st National Roofing of faulty techniques that needed to be corrected, however the owner refused to make the corrections and the roof has now failed inspection.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************
