On October 20th 2021, I received a call from on ***** that I have been approved for a $10000.00 loan and I should talked to the loan officer one *******. After a long conversation he asked me for my accounts information that they will make a deposit into my account to make sure the account was current and in good standing. I thought that was fair so I did as he ask me to do. After the deposit I call ******* and he told me that I should return the deposit back to him, but instead of paying through an account or any of the **** services he ask me to get an Apple gift card as a form of payment for him. After I send him the gift card information he said that my credit score was still too low for me to qualify for the loan so he will have to make another deposit in my account again, when I ask him why he said so that it will boost my credit score. I was hesitant but oblige. He went ahead and deposited $280 into my account when I called ******* to make the payment he told me to get another Apple gift card and this time for $500, but fortunately for me the cashier refused to sell me the $500 Apple gift card. But before I could do anything they went into my account and withdrew $500 causing me over the limit charge and returned payment fee with my bank.

      Terfa,

We are so sorry to hear this.  This appears to be the work of bad actors using our name to contact innocent consumers with the promise of a loan in exchange of a deposit in the form of gift cards.  We are not affiliated in anyway with these bad actors and are actively working to shut them down.  If you have the email address or phone number they corresponded with, please send that to tellus@lendingpoint. In the meantime, we suggest contacting your local police and submitting an internet crimes report to the *** at https:www.ic3.gov. Thank you for informing us so we can continue our efforts.

LendingPoint conducted an unauthorized credit inquiry and sent an email to the listed email address for this complaint. I never authorized them to do this, and I want their inquiry and all associated information in all formats (digital or otherwise) removed from my credit report and a full deletion from all their servers and backup servers and associated storage systems.

      ****************,

Thank you for letting us know.  We received your application through our partner Credit Karma with your personal information (including your social security number).  The good news is our system caught some suspicious activity and the application was not allowed to be completed.  LendingPoint did not conduct a hard inquiry on your credit report, and the soft inquiry does not impact your credit score.   We recommend contacting Credit Karma and the credit bureaus to determine if any other suspicious activity has taken place with your information.  Please do let us know if we can be of further assistance.

On October 5, 2021 I called Lending Point and spoke with a customer service agent and let them know I would be sending a check to pay my loan off. The representitive gave me the address to where to send the check. I sent it, Lending Point received it around Oct. 24, 2021. Today, Nov. 12, I checked my credit report and found where my loan was not paid off. They have charged me an additional $51.62 in interest. I called this evening and explained that I was not even aware that was charged to my account and had I not checked my credit report I would have never known, as I received NO notification from them at all regarding this extra interest. I was told they would only notify me if the payment was late. I asked that it be waived and was denied by a manager. I was told that because I looked at my account on the website I got the wrong amount, they charge insterest daily. While looking at the site I found the following: "As a paperless company, we do not send statements by mail. Our customer portal makes it easy to manage your account, check your progress, and contact us." Obviously this is not the case as the reps don't tell you what your pay off is and the site does not have a "pay off amount" anywhere on it. They left it up to me to find the payoff amount and I paid more than the amount on the website and still got hit with an extra $51.62 charge. I feel this is unfair and a sneaky way to do business. I would like the "extra" interest fee waived. if it were principle I would understand, but it is not.. It's interest after the fact.

      **************,

We are sorry to hear of your frustrations.  We wanted to let you know that our loans are customer-friendly simple interest loans (similar to auto loans and mortgage loans), where interest accrues on a daily basis.  We reviewed your account, and you can rest assured that the payoff amount was correct.  Payments sent in the mail may not be for the correct amount, as mail delivery is unpredictable and can take several days to arrive.  Please do let us know how we can be of further assistance.

My issue occurred between 10-20-2021 through 11-11-2021. I was on Credit Karma and was referred to Lending Point for a personal loan, the interest rates were fair and the amount financed was suitable for my needs so I applied. I was already prequalified and thought this would be a simple way of obtaining the finances I need. When I first applied to LendingPoint everything was going smooth until after the first week went by and nothing changed on my account status after I had applied. I called lending point who referred me to their loan specialist. The specialist took care of the missing information that was missing to update my account status. After a week went by after signing the contract I never received my funds, after I called again they informed me my bank did not meet the underwriting parameters and that they could not deposit my loan. Lending point states I had a negative balance on my bank record, which I laughed because my bank does not let me go negative and I have overdraft protection. However after some review with my bank turns out their was 1 time my account showed a negative balance during a holiday weekend when their system was not reflecting account balances after deposits were made. This prevented me from receiving my funds through lending point as a result. Be aware this company's Underwriting system is a nightmare. I spent over 3 weeks on a prequalified loan that was set in motion and was held up due to their system. This encounter was like borderline fraud considering I have the screenshot showing the loan APPROVED and the signed contract in hand but no funds received. This was a waste of time, not how I would have like to have conducted business, don't let an automated system run your company through the mud and upset your consumers like it has for me.

*Credit Rating Issue* I have had a loan for almost a yr. I made a lump some which allotted me a few months without paying. I recently disputed this and the rating was updated I get an alert TODAY stating I have two missed payments and account is delinquent. Payments are due on the 10th of each month. I have switched my account to auto draft so how my payments are late is beyond me. I have the confirmations! This company and their employees are a joke. They do not respond to emails after telling you they will get back to you (these are managers Ive dealt with) I am attaching my emailed proof of payment. My score has dropped over 80 pts. Ridiculous. Fix my payments in your system!

Thank you for letting us know.  After our investigation, it appears that another individual may have utilized some of your personal information (including social security number) to attempt to secure a loan.  Fortunately, our system stopped the application from being completed. I received an email from this company with a credit disclosure that contained my credit score for a loan product I did not apply for. I was alarmed to receive this email while on vacation. I had to look online to find out who this company was, I had never heard of them. I was shocked to find other complaints similar to mine.I would like my information removed/flagged in their database. I am not looking for any loan products and did not approve or request my credit be ran. I would also request that any inquiry be removed from my credit report.Thank you!

This company claims that I applied for a loan (I did not consent to this, I merely browsed loan offers on Experian and did not submit any forms) and submitted a hard inquiry to my credit report. That inquiry affects my score. They didn't even send me any information verifying that I had supposedly applied for a loan with them, simply their "decision" about whether or not to extend me credit. I never even consented to allow them to view my information. To prove this, they addressed their email to me using a previous address I had almost ten years ago. I never applied for credit with them. Now somehow I have a damaging hard inquiry on my credit report. I want to warn others not to browse offers from LendingPoint while looking at their credit score on Experian.

*Credit Rating Issue* I have had a loan for almost a yr. I made a lump some which allotted me a few months without paying. In May 2021 I logged in and balance showed $43.09 which was paid. In June I didn't make the payment, it was due June 10th and I made the payment July 10th. Payments are due on the 10th of each month. They marked the payment as 30 days late which is inaccurate. I have previously disputed it in August and it was removed for error. Recently, I received an alert that I have two missed payments. I have contacted this company and they argue about the days, stating it is over 30 days and they will not commit credit fraud by changing it. All I ask is that they update the June payment to reflect accurately. I have disputed this so many times! I provided a good will letter for my july pymt as my acct was compromised and when notified 8/14 my 8/10 payment didnt clear i called promptly and paid via card. Ive paid lump sums and never 30 days late even had my terms changed.
