In Sept 2023, my ins. company referred Rytech to complete some water mitigation services at my home. Rytech came out and serviced my home in a timely manner, however my bathtub was damaged in the process. I am not sure what the technician dropped in the tub, but it left a hole. Rytech also did not place any drop cloths on my new flooring or staircase which resulted in additional damage. The technicians traveled up and down my stairs with flooring, drywall, vanity, several pieces of heavy equipment etc. I advised my ins. company of the damaged tub and I was advised to contact Rytech. I have reached out to Rytech concerning the damage, however they stated that they are not liable because they have pictures of before, during, and after their work. They also stated that I am contacting them 2 months after the completed job. I advised Rytech that my ins. adjuster left the company so I had to wait until I was assigned a new adjuster in Oct. My home is located in GA and I reside in CA so I did not learn about the damage until late Oct/Nov when the contractor came to my home. Before the contractor began work on my home, I had pictures taken of my entire home so I would know the condition of my home.My tub was not damaged prior to Rytech working at my home. I have emailed *************************** and *********************** to provide a copy of the pictures reviewed to make their determination, however I did not receive anything. If my tub was damaged prior to Rytech coming to my home, they would have notified me of the damage as the technician was thorough. The technicians placed the toilet and other items in my tub so they would have seen the hole if it was there prior. I have tried to resolve the issue but ***** stopped responding. I feel the damage was accidental, however I am requesting that Rytech cover the damages to make me whole. I am also requesting Rytechs liability insurance and bond information, but I have not received a response. Tub $750 haul $150 Floor $700 repolish steps

After hurricane ***, In Sept. 2023, I contacted my insurance company, which gave Rytech as their preferred vendor for water mitigation. Initially, a Rytech team came out and performed some water mitigation services, however, after another rain storm, there was more water damage, and a second Rytech team arrived. They removed drywall and flooring and window sill around my custom blinds. After the second team departed, it was noted that the blind was damaged. When I went back into the room and rolled down the blinds, which had been all the way cinched at the top, I noticed one panel was broken. I contacted Rytech who put me into contact with the *********** office. I spoke with ******************, told him what had happened, submitted a final invoice for $100, and he emailed me that after reviewing the situation, he would be refunding me the $100 fee to repair the blinds. That was in March 2023. Since then, I have sent multiple emails, requesting follow up on payment, but have received no response. I also contacted Rytech claims asking for their assistance in resolving this matter, and have heard no response from them either. I am happy to attach the email stating that ****************** would send out payment, as well as my multiple emails requesting follow up, the invoice for repairs and pictures. I ask for payment in the amount of $100 for the repair of the blinds.

They deserve a 0 star! I really hope no family ever has to go through what this company put our family through. On Feb 25th we had the unexpected a water leak in our ceiling. We immedietly turned the water off contacted our ins. company on the next step. Rytech came out 10 hrs later. We had already cleaned everything up due to us having a special needs child. ******* came out marked our walls with tape & put 2 dehumidifiers up & said hey would be back in 2 days to do fans for 24 hours then tear everything out. They never showed up so we called & texted both ********* supervisor *******, no response for 7 days, our ins. couldn't even get them to return calls. When ******* finally showed up he informed me we slipped through the ************ bc of them we could have mold. This was terrifying bc all I said from the beginning was to please do it right as we have a child who requires oxygen for lung issues. Another man came in our home did not knock or ring out door **** did not have a rytech shirt on. Very unprofessional & scary to see a random man standing in my living room when I came out the bathroom. He also let my dog out. They helped look for an hour then left bc of the storms. Myself & animal control looked for 3 1/2 hours before she was found. They charged us unneccesary charges for things they did not do & charged us for the machines being left which was not our fault. I reached out to Supervisors named *********** over our experience who would not return any of my calls. We then got a bill from ****** who we went back & forth with on being charged for things they didn't do. She sent a settlment ************** paid it! 3 days after paying we started receiving threatening emails/text messages about being sued. I tried to reach out to ****** 6 times phone/text no response. This place is a nightmare.************** assure us it's paid in full but this has been a traumatic experience when all we asked for was to please do it right bc of our special needs child BEWARE

I have been having standing water under my house for a few months. We have a sump pump under the house, but it could not keep the water out. Terminex came to inspect my house for termites and were unable to get under my house due to exces water. It was smelling under my house. ********************************************* came to change the pipes under my house but it was too much standing water. So ************************* got in touch with Rytec to drain the water out. ***** came and spoke with my husband on 12/5/2022, He gave them consent to start the work. The 2 young men never gave him a price. They worked on using a water hose to drain the water for 2 days. They left and never came back. They never talked to me about the situation. **** from ********************************* plumbing call ***** and they told him that there was nothing else that they could do for the house. We had to call another company. Servpro. They came and worked on it for 1 week to get it under control. they treated the ground and removed the moisture protector which Orkin install 5 years ago. They cleaned up everything under the house. Now the smell is gone, and I have crawl space. Now I am receiving a bill for Rytec for $2149.54. I called ***** and talked to a lady and ask her why they were billing me, when they never removed the water from the crawl space. She told me that she would talk to the company and let me know something. She never called back but sent me another bill. I don't see why I need to pay them, when they could not complete the job, never called me and let me know nothing. and I had to get another company. Please advise me, I need your help. Thank you.

On September 12, ***************************** with Rytech told me he would send someone to do the portion of the work that my insurance approved: demo of the base of one kitchen cabinet, so that the plumber could see under it and make an assessment.I am willing to pay for that work. A handyman would charge $50 to do that. However, on September 15, two guys from Rytech showed up, and then two more, and finally two more so a crew of six took over my house. When I told them I did not want them to do any more work beyond just tearing out the bottom of one cabinet, they told me they were talking to my insurance adjuster, and the claim had been approved. They told me they had to start mitigating right away, and not to worry, because they already had permission from my insurance. I told them it was OK to do what insurance had already approved, but as far as I knew, insurance only approved tearing out the bottom of one cabinet. I told them not to do any more work without giving me an estimate first. They hung out at my house, charging their phones in my outlets, telling me I had a dead and rotten animal in my crawlspace (actually a piece of carpet), talking to their other customers. I found out later that day, that Rytech lied to me about having permission from my insurance to start mitigation. My insurance did not cover mitigation. It only approved tearing out the bottom of one cabinet. The next morning when I realized Rytech had conned me, September 16, I fired Rytech and got them to remove their mitigation equipment from my home.I am not willing to pay for the $1,536.90 of unwanted work that they did under false pretenses saying that they knew better than I did what my insurance would pay for. (Padded invoice of $1586.90 attached - $50 I am willing to pay for work covered by insurance that is part of my deductible = $1,536.90 of work I asked 6 strangers in my home not to do but they outnumbered me and frightened me.)

This complaint is for Rytech of the Midlands, not our office.

I will send the complaint to the owners of that location, however, the complaint needs to be filed against the correct company.

I responded to this complaint three times, I believe, explaining each time that this complaint was not filed with the correct office.

Each office is responsible for their own BBB account.  This account was used for our corporate office which is no longer performs services.

We do not believe it's fair to us to have a negative rating based on a complaint for services that we did not perform.

The owners of the franchise that performed services are happy to discuss revising the invoice but the complainant has to contact them.

Please remove the negative rating from our account.

I am rejecting this response because:

Your office sent me a *******************.

I am asking for a billing change.

I did contact the other office multiple times. They have ignored my calls and emails, just like they ignored me when they were at my house and I was saying "don't do any work the insurance didn't approve" and they did whatever they felt like and overcharged me for it.

If you don't like having a negative rating because of someone else, then don't send bills on behalf of someone else. Or if you do, then make the requested billing change.

      Sincerely,

Billed by Rytech Services for services which they did NOT provide. We contacted Rytech after Hurricane *** (August 2021). A guy showed up and stated that they could start demolition the next day. We asked for an estimate and he said we will work it out with the insurance company. We said No, provide us with an estimate for the work. He refused so we told him we would not be using their services. He also refused to provide any idea of if their was water damage or not. No measurements were taken, no moisture meter was used. He did not even look at the damage. We did NOT sign a contract. This is a scam. They are trying to **** homeowners insurance for work that they did not do. The **** is for $ 525 and it states for Water ********** Services, and since our insurance company refused to pay for services that were not provided they are now billing us. We request that Rytech dismisses this fraudulent invoice.

During the hurricane we had billing agreements with clients that send us work. This included mobilization fees for operations to travel out of state to help assist, in addition they also pay for Service Calls. Apparently the Carrier will not pay for these items in the event one of their customers calls in directly. Rytech was not aware of this and was seeking payment for the service it did perform, which was a full inspection of the property. Part of the invoice was a mobilization fee and the other amount was a service call and/or initial inspection. While this Carrier did not agree to mobilization charges, it did agree to paying for Service Calls. These costs are typically considered expenses, and not billed to the customer. Unfortunately ********************** did **** the customer and this should not have occurred. Our location travelled from ********** to assist with the storm. While the Franchise did not use probes they did take moisture and psychrometric readings. Since all affected materials needed to be removed due to the contaminant levels from the hurricane, using a probe to determine moisture levels was irrelevant. As an emergency responding in a storm, unless asked for specifically, we do not provide estimates. Rytech does not participate in scams of any kind, and we take a lot of pride in our services, especially after a storm.  We did speak to the customer directly and informed them that we would refund the monies paid to date and apologized for any confusion.
