We took our 2018 GMC Yukon in for a service check because we were having a problem with it. We paid the $150 diagnostic and was told that there was a problem with the brakes and a broken motor mount which would cost approximately $1500 to repair. They also said we needed a new transmission which would be approximately $6500. We agreed to have the $1500 in repairs done and we would address the transmission later. They said ok. However, the next day, they called and said they found an additional part bad and that would cost an additional $500. We agreed even though we wondered why this additional damaged part didnt turn up before if they did a thorough diagnostic. We picked up our truck the next day and drove it home. We consulted with another mechanic who told us the first thing to do was check the transmission fluid. We did that and discovered that there was NO transmission fluid in our truck. We called back up to Southtowne and asked if anyone had checked the transmission fluid. We were told that it HAD been checked but they left it as it was. If this is the case, then Southtowne knowingly let us drive our truck with no transmission fluid. I can only guess that the reason for doing this is so that we would indeed need a new transmission after all. Nevertheless, we spent $12 on transmission fluid, put it in our truck, and its been running fine since then. We did not need to spend $6500 replacing our transmission. This fact made me skeptical of the entire service call. Did they REALLY find an additional part that needed replacement costing us an additional $500. Did our motor mount REALLY need replacing? Since we cant trust Southtowne to be honest, we will not be getting our vehicles serviced there any longer. I brought my 2019 truck in to be fixed because it kept cutt*** off. I replaced the battery prior to br****** it in. They told me water got in from the back window seal and that I had water on my floor boards. Granted it was rain*** that day but when I gave it to them there was no water in the truck. All windows were up. So water traveled from the back of the truck to the front? Really Southtowne? They informed me that there was water on the floor boards so they removed the carpet to dry it and gave it back to me. When they got my truck it was completely dry, but while in THEIR possession all this water got in it! They charged me $2,200 for carpet dry***. But they did not fix what was initially wrong with it. Gave it back to me, no sooner than I left the lot the engine light comes on. Because of that I could not pass the emissions test, could not get my tag and had to go somewhere else to have the initially problem fixed. Southtowne Newnan takes advantage of people, I see from the comments that they dont discriminate, they're an equal opportunity defraud of all! They should do oil changes only and be the best at do*** that. But they realize there is no real money in that. The big bucks come from defraud *** and charg*** their customers! Shame on you Southtowne! Remember God don't like ugly! Jehovah is always watch***! Just be honest with your customers if you can't fix their vehicles. Transmission replacement after several attempts and then mechanical problems since reported several times the transmission isnt repaired. ******************* said they would not service my vehicle any longer no longer needed or wanted my business. Took the vehicle to a different dealership and had to pay over $5500.00 to get another transmission because the dealership ruined the ************ and would not correct the problem. Left the transmission cap unscrewed and did something to the transmission plug which caused the transmission to be ruined because all fluid was lost due to the negligence of this dealership. They refused to make the repairs. I will seek advice from my attorney.Review from Brian N

This dealership is committing fraud with their bait and switch tactics. I drove two hours on Friday 4/21/23 one way because they had the exact ****** **** AT4 I wanted in stock. After a test drive I wanted to talk numbers. I am eligible for the ** Supplier Discount through work, however they said they would not honor that discount. Then the window sticker and THEIR website both say the price is $73,530. They WILL NOT honor that price either! They say they have to add $5000 to the **** because that truck is so "popular". They then have the audacity to say they were doing me a favor because they normally add $10,000 to the advertised price and they cut that in half! I would recommend that no one do business with SOUTHTOWNE CHEVROLET BUICK **C. Save yourself time and money by going elsewhere. I bought the same truck the next day at a different dealership that both honored my ** Supplier Discount AND gave me more for my trades than SOUTHTOWNE offered.Dishonest and Deceptive is an extremely accurate way to describe this dealership. 1 star and that's just for having to give one. I made a purchase just before the Easter holiday for a Cadillac, and I was rushed through the process, provided half truths of information. The information was misleading that all the dealers were adding market value increase adjustments at the point of sale for online certified pricing and sticker pricing. This was new news to me! Upon further investigation, I found that they are picking and choosing who they apply this charge to (unethical). In addition, I was told that I could only use the *** family friends plan for certain vehicles, but when inquired to the manager was informed by him (*****) that they are refusing to accept the family and friends program at this time for all sales (hence, found out other customers used it). Don't use this company highly unethical and they use tactics to rush sales ( my paperwork wasn't even all correct). My purchase was just before to the holiday and I had trouble getting anyone within the 5 day window so I'm stuck with the car, but when I did reach them they refused to care to help or rectify the misleading sale that costs me to lose a rebate, and added an upcharge that would have benefited from shopping elsewhere. I have maintenance service as part of my purchase...aka no charge. But sometimes when they are supposed to change my oil and top up all my fluids they don't top off the fluids. One day after service I found that my oil and engine coolant were low! This is unacceptable. They are not giving me any "free" maintenance. I paid for this when I bought the car.Also I needed some additional service called ***************** and ***************** but instead of doing this service they gave my wife Ethanol Treatment, Engine Air Filter replacement, and Cabin Air filter replacement. We had this done ***** miles ago. Looking into the Owner's Manual to determine how frequent these treatments are supposed to be done I learned that the Engine Air filter is supposed to be changed ever ***** miles, and the Cabin Air filter is supposed to be replaced every ***** miles. We lost $140.00 for services that we were not close to needing.Once again, it is my opinion that if you are a senior or a woman be very careful with Southtowne Chevrolet, Buick, GMC's maintenance.Review from Cadidra I.

This dealership is a rip-off. They stayed one price on my truck. Advised will deliver with paperwork. Once I got the paperwork the price was s$9000 more. I did not have the vehicle for more than two days went back and the contract said they can except the vehicle back if dealership agrees. I spoke to two managers and the financing representative. They all stated I cannot return the vehicle that I only had for 2 to 3 days. They are deceitful do not trust them. I do not want anyone else to get ripped offReview from Nirvin M.

Today is the second time that we have used this dealership for a basic oil change on a Chevrolet Sonic and they charged me $81.21. The description line states that the oil and filter is included in the charge for $42.04 but yet there are other lines that have additional charges for oil filter and oil that add up to $81.21. This place is ripping people off and it has to stop.Review from Andrew K

This dealership is adding $10K market adjustments to large SUVs and some trucks in direct conflict with GM's directive from their President. The dealership claims the market adjustment is to cushion the loss of sales during the pandemic because they cannot meet budget if they don't use this market adjustment. This is a direct result of poor management and I made it very clear that this is my feeling. I tried several times to negotiate a price for a vehicle that was fair and I was shot down because criticizing management is absolutely not allowed at this dealership. If you don't let them fool you, accept it, and then keep quiet, you will be yelled at, cursed at, and hung up on. I've reported this dealership's unfair sales practices to GM- which has been requested by the President of North American operations.
