My husband **** ****** and I purchased our daughter a car in December 2024 from Motorvation *********, and were given a 45 day temporary license plate. After 45 days Motorvation still did not have the permanent license plate. We had to bring the car 6 hours back here to DMV to get a 2nd temporary plate. We are 2 days away from the 2nd temporary plate expiring and they STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PERMANENT PLATE! I have called Motorvation twice a week since 2/1/25 and Youmira, the title clerk, each week told me it would be in next week. I have asked to speak to a manager and was always told a manager is unavailable. I called DMV and was told they haven't even submitted the paperwork for the permanent plate! ******* will not issue a 3rd temporary plate. How is my 19 year old daughter supposed to get back and forth to school with an expired temporary tag 6 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME??? The entire staff at ****************************** has been unaccommodating, discourteous and dismissive. They have not provided any assistance, just excuses and telling me to wait until next week. WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 3 MONTHS! I found out 2 weeks ago that Motorvation ********* is now CLOSED. They have calls routed to another location in midtown. *** and ******* answer the phones at that location and when I explain my dilemma, they are rude and dismissive and tell me there are many others calling in with the same problem and I need to wait for someone to call me. NO ONE HAS EVER CONTACTED ME. Now my daughter has to drive her car to get back and forth to college with an expired tag and runs the risk of being pulled over by police and ticketed and the registration will eventually be suspended.

I purchased a vehicle from the Atlanta Best Used Cars in ********, **. I paid $15,249 cash for the vehicle. I bought the vehicle on Saturday and took it to my mechanic on Tuesday (two) business days later. I had taken the vehicle to a mechanic the dealership recommended but that is a story for another complaint. My mechanic did an inspection on the vehicle. My mechanic found numerous issues and advised me there was no way anyone did an inspection and did not see these issues. The total for the repairs is over $23,000. From a junkyard differential that had fluid and metal shavings inside to oil leaks, my mechanic advised the vehicle could not have been inspected. I called the dealership immediately. I was hung up on several times. When I did speak with someone I was told the service manager was sick and was the only one who I could speak with about the vehicle. I continued calling all week. Today, 3.3.2025 I did speak with someone who told me I had waited too long to return the vehicle. I have my phone call history to show when and how many times I called. Also, the service manager is supposedly still sick and no one has returned my calls. I have the records of the work that needs to be done on the vehicle. The contract from the dealership noted a vehicle inspection was done by the dealership which my mechanic said could not have happened with all the issues he found. I have tried to be reasonable but I need to make this complaint when no one will address the issue from the dealership. I have looked up online reviews of the dealership. This appears to be a pattern and practice for this business. We have requested a ****** report and and a copy of the dealerships inspection report. We have not received either report. The dealership knowingly sold us an unsafe vehicle. My request of the dealership is they return the purchase amount immediately. Thank you. ******* *******

We're sorry to hear about your concerns regarding your vehicle. However, before purchasing, you had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle, which you did. You also requested and received a copy of the Carfax report, acknowledging it in the paperwork. Unfortunately, the vehicle was sold on an "as-is" basis.

I bought a 2018 Nissan Rogue from this business a little over 2 years ago. I was told it had been in a minor accident, nothing major since the title wasnt branded. I recently found out it was in a major accident ( all airbags were deployed and car had to be towed) and is only worth $5000 at most. I still owe almost $17000 on it. It was $24000 when I got it. Because of the previous wreck theres an issue when it rains water gets into the relay box and the car wont start til it dries out. Tried getting it fixed but they cant tell where the water is coming in from. So Im stuck paying for a worthless car that sometimes wont start.

Having driven the vehicle for over two years, accumulated approximately 45,000 miles, and been involved in an accident a few months ago, requesting a refund at this point is somewhat unreasonable.

I am rejecting this response because: when I bought this car for almost 26000 it was already worthless. I just recently found out. I was lied to when I bought the car so I believe I’m owed at least half of what I paid for it. If you were honest people you would have told me it was involved in a major accident where it was not able to be driven and all air bags were deployed.

You voluntarily agreed to purchase the vehicle at the stated price, as the decision was entirely yours. The value of the vehicle is based on market conditions, not individual opinions. Since it has been over two years since the purchase, we have attached the original bill of sale for your reference, showing that the actual purchase price was $22,144 after taxes and fees, not $26,000 as you indicated.

Additionally, we have included for the Bureau’s review the "As-Is" agreement, which clearly shows that you were offered the opportunity to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic of your choice at the time of purchase, but you declined. The contract addendum also confirms that you reviewed and received, with your signature, the CarFax report, which disclosed the vehicle's prior accident history.

It is important to note that you were also involved in an accident after the purchase, which you did not mention in your complaint. Furthermore, as part of our disclosure, we informed you of the vehicle’s prior damage as it was communicated to us, and we, in turn, relayed that information to you.

I am rejecting this response because: I went by what I was told. I live 3 hours away and was never told I could take it to get checked by my own mechanic. As a matter of fact I had to wait 2 weeks after I paid for it to make sure the check from my bank went thru because you weren’t sure they would approve the sale if the car because you knew it had been in a bad wreck. While what you did isn’t illegal it is frowned upon and bad business. Even if I’m stuck with a piece of crap car( that I have called and complained about once I figured the problem was caused by the accident prior to my getting it and was laughed at when I asked if you would at least help me fix it). My accident I was in a couple months ago was minor and car was still drivable so try again with your excuses.

    Sincerely,

    Elizabeth Comesanas

I went to company on August 17 2024 with the intentions on purchasing a car. I met with salesman *********************** . The car that I had chose was a car ***** told me the bank said they don't trust me to get. So ***** showed me a car that was online and wasn't at the lot at the time. The car was a ****** Altima the vin # is *****************. ***** suggested that I put ****** down which was half of the down payment for the car. ***** said that he suggest putting this money down so no one can buy the car even though the car wasn't on the lot. I went to the car lot with a friend my parents was out of town. I put the money down on the car and ***** has me to signed a paper that said if I didn't purchase the car within 3 days I would lose my money. On August 19 2024 my mother ***************************** took me back to the car lot to test drive the ****** Altima. When we test drove the car there was several warning lights on the dash. The tire pressure light was on and the master warning light was on. We couldn't drive the car far to really test it because the car was completely empty. When we came back to park the car the shifter handle completely came off and the car wouldn't go in park. My mom went in to notify them that we needed help. We advised ***** of all the issues with the car and I decided within the 3 days that I didn't want the car because it has too many issues. I asked for my money and this company refuse to refund me. I don't think this is fair and this isn't the first time this company has treated their customers like this. This is bad business practice. I would like my 500 dollars back from this company. I've asked ***** for my money back several times and he refused to address giving me my money back. Thank you

The salesman ***** sold me some fake insurance on 2/29/24. I just found out the insurance was fake 7/9/24 through the insurance commissioner office. The lady who answered phone at the dealership say they don't sale insurance. I reached out to the *** because the salesman gave all my info to this insurance company. Somebody from Atlanta Best Used cars were suppose to contact me on yesterday 7/11/24. I haven't heard from anyone. I reached out to the news to do an interview so that others may come forth. I do know the lady who bought a car before me got the same insurance. The salesman left her information up in his computer. My son took a picture of it but deleted it. We're contacting ****** and Apple to see if we can retrieve that picture. If anyone purchased a car from Atlanta Best Used cars on 2/29/24 and ***** was your salesman call the local *** and report this fraud. I purchased a car from this dealership on 11/21/2023. When they sold me the car they stated that there was a mandatory Lojack fee which is $600. Later, I found out that it is not mandatory so I contacted the company to cancel the membership, since it had not been 30 days yet. Per their policy they are subject to provide a refund for the membership as long as you cancel within 365 days. I cancelled the membership with ****** directly and they said the dealership would be the one to issue the refund. I've called and email many times and they refuse to answer this matter. They are They are lying to customers saying it is a mandatory fee, when it is not. Among many other lies they sell. All I want is a refund for the Lojack.

We regret to inform you that, according to the terms of the agreement you signed concerning the Lojack fee, the service itself can indeed be canceled at any time. However, it is important to note that the fees associated with this service are non-refundable. Even though you have the flexibility to discontinue the ************** whenever you choose, the payment made for the fees remains non-reimbursable as per the stipulations outlined in the contract. Thank you.

Hello and good morning, thanks for helping. I went to buy a car at Best Auto Atlanta, and I bought a 2017 ***** Pilot LX, I knew it didn't have a warranty, but it's not fair that they sell you a totally bad car, which I have to take away from the car or fix it, that has A few defects are ok, but it has too many problems, I paid ****** for something that doesn't work well, and it's hard to earn them, I called and sent a message to the person who sold me the car, and no response, I bought it on April 19, 2024. thanks for your help

    Business Response

    Date: 06/25/2024

We are sorry to hear that Mr. **** is experiencing problems with the vehicle. At Atlanta Best, we strive to ensure all vehicles are inspected and in good working condition before being sold, even without a warranty. The vehicle was in good working order when sold to Mr. ***** as evidenced by his acceptance of delivery and the two-month delay before raising any concerns. Additionally, some of the damages shown in the submitted photos cannot be confirmed as pre-purchase issues and may have occurred after the purchase.

The 2017 ***** Pilot LX was sold "as-is," which was clearly communicated to Mr. **** at the time of purchase. Since the vehicle was nearing ******* miles, we recommended that he purchase a service warranty for the vehicle, but he declined. This means the vehicle was sold without a warranty, and any issues arising post-purchase are the responsibility of the buyer. Moreover, we offered Mr. **** the option to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic of his choice before purchasing, which he also declined. Unfortunately, in this case, the dealership is not responsible for any repairs.

I purchase a 2020 ***** HRV from Atlanta Best Cars on 4/20/24. I had 2 major issues with this dealership. While testing the car the ** was not working fully blowing out cold air. The salesman spoke with the finance manager and agree to repair the **. I wrote on the quote contract the ** needs repair before purchasing the vehicle at the dealership and agree to pick it up on the following day due to the lateness of the evening. I picked the vehicle up the following day as the agreed and the ** was blowing for 2 days then went back out. I have taken the vehicle back to the dealership 3 additional times each time stays for 5 or more hours only for the ** not to work properly in the heat. On the 4th time at the dealership, they stated they need to keep the vehicle for 2 days to find and repair the issue. I advise that I was currently living in the car and did not have the means to be without my vehicle/ home for 2 days. The offer to do rental car reimbursement as the only means but I do not have the funds to pay for a rental car up front. They did not give the optional for a loaner car. Issue 2, I came in preapproval from ************ I request not to have my car ran again only to have the company ran my credit through 4 additional banks without my approval causing damage to credit score.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 06/13/2024

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, I was contacted by a technician from Atlanta Best Auto. The technician whom I had spoken with in the past about the vehicles AC stated he had a part to repair my car. I stated to the technician that I was unaware they order a part due to the last time I was there they were unable to locate the issue and needed they needed to keep the vehicle for 2 days to find the issue. The technician claim they found an issue on the last the last which I was not notified of when I left after 6 hours of waiting on the vehicle's diagnostics. I left with the understanding that they need more time to pinpoint the issue.  The technician then asked when I could drop the vehicle off to have the issue repaired. I asked how long it will take to be repair? The technician stated 2 days again and explained his reasoning for needing the vehicle that long. I informed the technician that I could not be without a vehicle for 2 days as I have no other means for transportation as I live nearly 40 miles away from the dealership. The technician stated that he will speak with the manager and reach back out to me with a solution to my concerns.

The technician did do his due diligence in reaching back out to me after speaking to the manger. He stated the manager again is unwilling to pay for a rental car or willing to give a loaner car without saying so. I was given the option of after dropping the vehicle off on Friday at 9AM my off day I can be uber home and they will uber be back to the dealership on Saturday to pick up the vehicle. This options they are giving leaves with me without a vehicle for a day and half. He stated if I could bring as soon as they open it should not be 2 full days, I requested this in writing the notice of time at the time of dropping off vehicle the uber payments confirmation and time vehicle will be with the dealership as I do not have the financial means to pay for Ubers and have a job to do to. I am not happy with this solution but in the next 2 days in Atlanta temps will be over 92 degrees and plus which is affecting my health issues. On Friday due to their refusal of supplying a rental or loan car I will attempt to drop the vehicle off, but I would prefer to have them pay for an outside repair shop to diagnostics this vehicle and make repairs as this has been the 5th time they attempt to repair the same issue.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/14/2024

Thank you for sharing your concerns and feedback. We understand your frustration with the current situation. However, we must adhere to our company policy regarding repairs and cannot accommodate your request for using an outside repair shop. We can only offer in-house services for vehicle repairs.
While we cannot provide a rental or loaner car, we are offering Uber rides to and from the dealership at no cost to you. We will do our best to expedite the repair process and minimize any inconvenience.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

This car dealership is forcing customers to purchase a $2500 maintenance package when financing a car from them and stating it as something the lender requires when it is not. They are scamming new and vulnerable car buyers into an almost $3000 upcharge that is not required and should be illegal to say it is coming from the lending company and not them

I am rejecting this response because: Yes I am not the customer who purchased the car that day but was there for 7 hours with my girlfriend who did purchase a car from this company(Atlanta Best Used Cars), I watched everything they did from start to finish and tried to get them to take this faulty $2500 maintenance contract because I knew this was not something we need and was just an extra fee they can tag on without most people fighting back for them to take it off. This was not from the sales team as we had a great experience with them and their price was spot on, my trouble is with the financing office who forced her into accepting this $2500 maintenance contract that they said could not be removed as it is a requirement from the lender ***** financial). After talking to **** they said this was not the case and this charge was not required for them to finance the car and that was an extra fee the dealership was tagging on because they could. It does not matter if I was the customer who purchased the car or not and i did not mistake their business for some other dealership, they are forcing customers to add $2500 of extra fees that should they want to decline the service they can. They told us there was zero way to take off the maintenance contract and that should be reported because no dealership can force you to have a maintenance contract, this should be something each customer should be able to choose whether or not they want it. Instead they lie that the lending bank requires it and it cant be removed. If you need the name of the actually customer who bought the car i can provide it but the main problem still stands that they are FORCING people to pay an extra almost 3k for an something that is optional and no required but they will instead lie and say the customer must have it

    Sincerely,

I am 18 years old and I purchased a vehicle at this company from a guy named ****** There was another salesperson that referred her to All city insurance. I paid the money 250 dollars for to a cash app. And received insurance documents. I had an accident less than a week later. Ive contacted the insurance company only to find out that they do not exist. The dealership is now claiming they have nothing to do with the insurance company that they referred me to. I was definitely taken advantage of by my age and I had a check from navy federal meaning this issue is not their concern. Now I have a damaged car as well as the person I hit. Please help. We sincerely regret the unfortunate situation you've encountered with what you believed to be an insurance policy purchased alongside your vehicle. However, it appears there may be a misunderstanding regarding the nature of our business. We are a dealership specializing in vehicle sales and do not engage in the provision or promotion of insurance services. Any agreements or contracts related to insurance would be solely between you and the insurance agent or provider you contacted. While we empathize with your frustration, we kindly ask you to direct your concerns to the appropriate party responsible for the insurance transaction.

We understand the seriousness of your situation and the importance of addressing any potential fraud promptly. If you believe you have been defrauded, we strongly encourage you to contact law enforcement authorities immediately. It's crucial to take swift action to safeguard your interests and pursue any necessary legal recourse. We are committed to assisting you within the scope of our business operations and remain available to provide any further assistance or clarification regarding your vehicle purchase.
