We used Amtec Services to repair our washing machine through ********************. After the initial repair our washer leaked, leaking into our garage. The water from the washer damaged our garage door opener. I called the office to advise of the leak and for them to dispatch someone back to our location. Several days later, the repairman came, took pictures of the damage, and repaired the machine. He called his manager and he informed us the manager would call us at a later date. We called their office and were told the manager would call the next day after reviewing the report and once the order was closed. The manager never called. I called their dispatch again asking for the manager. I was advised they would send a note to the manager and they would call me. This did not happen again. The tech had to come back to our home again and we asked him to call the manager directly so we could speak with him. He refused and said he is only here to repair the machine. We have attempted to gain resolution since the beginning of November. We were looking to have our garage door opener repaired due to the leak resulting from the initial repair.

On Oct.17, 2024 ******************** assigned my washer report to AMTECH ************* Immediately upon being contacted by the company I was uncomfortable with them. I immediately contacted ******************** & asked for my report to be reassigned I was told they could not. AMTECH sent a tech to my home three times b/w Oct.& Nov. to fix things that I had identified as NOT being the issue. Finally on Nov.19,2024 the tech came to replace the belt and stated the washer was fixed and I could use it. When he left I started the washer with no items inside on the smallest setting to test it. I left returned and about 2.5hrs later the top floor of my home was completely flooded which led to damage to my garage and basement. I called AMTECH they sent the same tech back to my home to try to fix the issue and take photos. My home now has more than $10,000 worth of damages. AMTECH will NOT respond and not have the manger reach out to me. I have photos and video of their tech attempting to get the water up and take photos. When I reported this to them they hung up on me. American Home Shield is not been of any assistance to get me in contact with the companys manger. Their only response is its a second party issue. AMTECH is trying to avoid the issue and now claims they need to complete another repair on the washer, but will not provide a date for the part even though their technician said it as fixed when he left my home. **** I have been informed is the owner/General Manager is NEVER available when calling the companys only number. Alexi is the ONLY operator who answers and she is purposefully not providing contact information. AMTECH and their technician is responsible for the damage and they avoiding contacting me. I called them every day twice a day since Nov. 19th to speak with **** and he has not been available. This morning, Nov.25th I was informed that he is away for the holiday and will not return to the office until next Monday. I also have videos.

Amtec was assigned to repair my washer through ***. the technician broke the machine beyond the original issue. It is now not starting cycles, shutting off when we press start, and going off in the middle of the night. When trying to contact their team they place on exceedingly long holds, offer dates several weeks out and are very rude. They communicate with the warranty company different information than they communicate with us and I am looking for resolution. I can provide video of the machine now attempting to start itself at 1:30 am when no one is touching it.

Our records indicate that this is a current and open work order. We are in fact scheduled to come out and diagnose the new issue you are indicating on 11/26/2024 10am to 2pm.

      Thank you.

      Customer Answer

We have communicated with the business several times that this date does not work as we will be out of town. When articulating this over the phone they put us on hold in excess of 30minutes and have yet to provide an alternative time. Further more the extension of several weeks when they had articulated this repair as complete during their last visit to our home on November 14 is unacceptable.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/04/2024

The appointment was rescheduled to the customer's convenience, on a date chosen by the customer. On December 3rd, 2024, the technician arrived, performed diagnostics, and determined what parts were needed. A report was sent to the home warranty for approval. At this moment, the work order is in progress, with parts on order.

I have a home warranty under ********************. We filed two claims at the same time for our washer and dishwasher. The technician came out on 10/29 to assess the appliances. At that time it was identified that parts would need to be ordered for each item, and the technician indicated they would be in by the end of the week 11/1. On 11/5 we received a call that the parts were in and the first available appointment would be 11/8, and we were again assured that both appliances would be fixed. On 11/7 at 2pm, AMTEC called and confirmed the anointment for 11/8 with myself and my husband separately, at 5 pm, they called and cancelled the appointment for 11/8. The only option for a follow up appointment would be now to wait until 11/13, due to a "full schedule." I requested to speak with a manager, **** *******, and multiple times they are "unavailable" and a message is sent for them to call back. We are stonewalled and get no answers. I have requested a new technician, and they insist the original tech completes the work. Per the *** contract we have, it states that they use licensed and employed technicians, AMTEC uses sub contractors which is in breech of contract with ***. This is further supported by their refusal to send another employed technician. The customer service agent was rude, unprofessional, dishonest, and refused to help. When contacting ***, they will not transfer services to a different company who will complete the work in a timely manner, they have also processed our payment and we have not received any services', and at this point do not have an end date. We contract with ******************** and they are utilizing a company that does not meet their standards. Furthermore, when searching for the AMTEC Georgia Business License, I am unable to locate the information for one. I would like my appliances fixed as I have paid for services that have not been rendered, and neither AHS or AMTEC is responding to the customer.

Hello, thank you for your communication on this matter.

The technician that was scheduled to install your parts and repair your appliance experienced a medical emergency and could not make it out to your home to administer said repairs.

We offered to reschedule but you refused to do so. Shortly after we received cancellation notices for both of your appliances from your home warranty. Currently we have no authorization to conduct repairs or service at your home and have returned the parts to the distributor.

      Thank you.

      Complaint: 22529836

I am rejecting this response because

      1. I requested the business owner call to discuss the situation multiple times, I never received a call.  **** ******* is listed as the business owner but when I searched for his license I was unable to find it.  When I requested to speak to him, it never happened.  When I requested to speak to the manager, it never happened, and when I said I would come to the office to get the part, I was told that there was no one actually at the address it was just a place, everyone was remote. When I requested the name of the technician who came to diagnose the issue, the company refused to provide it. I was only able to speak with the dispatcher but no one who could or would assist me

      2. AMTEC has a contract with ******************** to provide licensed technicians, when I requested the technicians license information, that was unavailable.  When I requested another tech to complete the job, I was denied and only the tech who originally came could come and finish the job, indicating the high probability that this individual was a sub contractor.  When I asked if they were employed or a subcontractor, the dispatcher indicated she could not provide that information, further supporting that they are in breech of the contract.

      3. When rescheduling, while they canceled I was given the next available appointment after I had already been waiting over 5 days - which would have been an additional 4 days.  The office was not willing to move any other appointment to accommodate the customers that they had affected rather putting us at the end of the line instead of shifting everything back.

      4. When I spoke with American Home Shield- they were unable to assist me as they were waiting on the report from the company, which was never completed.  American Home Shield is also at fault for being in breach of contract that states they only use licensed individuals to complete the work as *** does not utilize this level of service.

************ is shady at best. As you can read from many of their complaints and reviews this company continues to "provide" sub par service, if they provide any, but continue to collect money on services rendered and incomplete.  ************ needs to be investigated for their business legitimacy and practices.

      Sincerely,

      ******* *******

      Thank you for your response.

To address your concerns about our licenses and ability to function as a business in our affiliated state, we are completely in compliance and above board with all affiliated organizations and municipalities.

Once again, the technician had a medical emergency and was unable to provide service on the date of your appointment. We offered to reschedule, which you refused. Later, we received notification that the member requested no service.

I am rejecting this response because:when requesting escalation to speak with a manager or supervisor I was never contacted or allowed to speak with someone. I requested a new technician to complete the work in a reasonable time and was pushed to the end of the line. I requested the licensure for the technician per the *** contract, which should be available and that was also not found in the Georgia database. I did cancel my work as this company lied multiple times to me, when I requested to speak with a manager would not let me speak with anyone other than the dispatcher, and continued to push out the appointments, regardless of the order they were received in, which included payment and incomplete work and misdiagnosis.

Calling out sick is not a medical emergency, I was told he had a cold/flu.

      Sincerely,

I have American Home Sheild, and my appliances are covered under their warranty. I realized my washer was leaking water, the washer and dryer still worked but it was leaking into the crawl space below my apartment. I placed a request on 7/22/24 for someone to come repair the washer, AHS contacted AMTEC and they came the following Tuesday. They then said they needed to order parts to come to fix it, the parts came 8/15 and he came again on 8/16 to fix the washer. He was unable to fix, and said that he was going to recommend that they replace the washer. At this point, the washer is taken apart and no longer works at all. For the next two weeks, I called AHS and AMTEC multiple times to get an update. *** said that AMTEC had not submitted their report so they could not process for replacement. I tried to call AMTEC but the "manager" was always out so they could not help me. Finally, after two weeks AHS escalated the issue and AMTEC said they needed to order more parts which will be here on 9/9. They have not called to schedule an appointment with me. This will be their third visit and almost a month and a half later the issue is still not fixed. Most reviews online say that they have broken their appliances worse and failed to fix the issue. I would like for them to submit to AHS that the washer is broken and they are unable to repair it. Or just tell AHS they are unable to repair it so AHS can send someone else out. This is taking forever and it is messing with my work schedule because I have to keep calling out to go home for these appointments. He seems unable to fix the washer and wasting my time. Also AHS shows me tracking for the parts so I know they lied about how long it would take for the parts to come in. I also have records of each time I called and how long the call was if you need those details as well.

AMTEC is the appliance repair company used and dispatched by American Home Shield warranty. An AMTEC technician came to our home, TWICE, attempting to repair our refrigerator. After these two visits, he didn't know how to resolve the problem; so, he diagnosed and wrote up a bogus problem, saying that the issue was the result of us having installed bulb that was above the recommended wattage. He went on to say that the unit needs to be replaced. However, he was wrong, because our refrigerator -- a Frigidaire Gallery -- recommended up to a 40w bulb, when the bulb in the unit has only a 5w rating. So, when I called AMTEC to complain and asked that they change the diagnosis, they refused, despite the fact that THEIR technician was not skilled in the service needed to resolve our issue with the refrigerator.Because of this bogus diagnosis, our home warranty company refuses to cover its replacement.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/20/2024

Greetings, thank you for bringing this to our attention. The light bulb that you previously had installed in your refrigerator was out of factory spec and caused permanent damage to the refrigerator liner.

If you would like we can provide a second opinion on the matter.

      Thank you.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/21/2024

      Complaint: 22134788

I am rejecting this response because:

Frigidaire replacement bulbs are 40watt (See Amazon bulb ), when the one used as a replacement is on 5watt (see attached), therefore, not nearly of the wattage/heat needed to cause the sort of liner damage discovered by the technician.  A bulb of a larger wattage likely would've been too large to fit into the assembley.

I, also, attached two other pictures showing how the unit's dual-bulb configuration is carrying only one bulb, not the two that was included into the design.  It has had only one bulb and, therefore, incapable of generating the heat needed to damage the liner.  So, the effect(s) of the lighting would've been on half that of a fully complemented set of bulbs.

Besides, as noted earlier, these lights come on and heat up for ONLY SECONDS, because the unit's door is never left standing open.  As in the majority of households, the refrigerator door is opened, BRIEFLY, and sparingly.

So, we believe that our unit suffered a structural integrity failure of some type, having nothing to do with the size of appliance bulb used.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

      Business Response

      Date: 08/29/2024

We are not refuting the fact that the refrigerator now contains the proper 5 watt LED which is indeed bellow 40 *****. We are stating that there was a bulb in the refrigerator above the recommended 40 ***** at some point which in turn caused the damage to ceiling of your fresh food compartment. The liner of the refrigerator can crack in some instances but that is not coupled with obvious melting, bubbling and discoloration of the plastic which is clearly evident on your appliance. We once again encourage you to request a second opinion which we can provide.

      Thank you.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/30/2024

      Complaint: 22134788

I am rejecting this response because we've been here since September 2014, just after the fridge was bought and installed for us.

And we've NEVER changed nor replaced the bulbs; the empty bulb socket was always there -- no bulb -- we discovered only after removing the cover trying to find out from where the water was coming.  So, since there was sufficient illumination, we weren't compelled to buy the additional bulb.

Moreover, I've attached a photo of the fridge's liner, next to the door frame, which shows how the liner is cracking just like what is seen above the bulb compartment.  Clearly, both are evidence of product integrity...or lack thereof.  What you have argued is inconsistent with this finding and ignores what amounts to being "reasonable doubt" for your claim(s).

None of the liner cracking has ANYTHING to do with the use of an improper bulb.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

AMTEC SERVICES ******* asked for assistance with a supervisor but of course nobody is ever in their office. A Technician has came out to our home 4 times since June 12, 2024. We have not yet got a clear diagnosis from this company to while are washing machine shows a 4E code on certain cycles and want wash at all. The Technician told AHS the warranty company that it was an excess issue because they didn't want to take the stacker washer and dryer down and wanted to charge me a 100 extra to remove dryer from washer. We took it down ourselves and now the Technician is saying its a restriction. As you can see in the photos you can get to any part of the washing machine all the way to the plug. Now the technician is saying we clogged a pipe, however water is still coming through the washing machine hot and cold. Its certain cycles the pre wash isnt working and water will not come in and you will get a 4E code. Technician told his company and AHS we need a plumber now to fix the problem but no one can tell me what the problem is. I recommend you never use this company ever because you will be truly disappointed. They dont know what theyre doing.

      Business Response

      Date: 07/01/2024

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. To clarify a 4E error code indicates that water does not fill in the allotted time. We recommended to your home warranty they send out a qualified professional to inspect the assorator (restrictor) divice on the shut off valve for the water supply line that provides water to your washer. These devices often contribute to a restricted water flow into washers.

As a service provider we provided options that could facilitate removal of the dryer from the top of the washer to gain access to the effected appliance. These services require payment for labor to our techs that could remove the dryer. All these options were not mandatory.

We do sincerely apologize but we cannot provide you with your requested $100 dollar refund as we did not charge you anything. If you feel as though your are entitled to a refund, please contact your home warranty.

If you have any questions about your coverage or contract with your home warranty please cotact them as we do not have access to that information.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 07/07/2024

Follow up response. The warranty company approved of a second opinion from a different appliance company. The service man came out this week and fix the wash. It was stated that the washing had a sensor problem and that is why the water wasnt flowing correctly on certain cycles. Everything this company has stated was totally wrong. They scheduled 4 appointments and told me one thing and reported something different to my warranty company. This went on since May 27, 2024 over 4 weeks I went without my washer working properly. No excuse because the service man didnt know what he was doing. No plumber was every need like they suggested. Just making up diagnosis. Thanks for your help!

While their techs are personable I have had my two refrigerators worked on 3 different times. Each time the appliances will work for up to 6 months and then I would experience the same issues all over again. When I called them to ask how many times they have serviced the appliances they refused to provide the information and redirected me to my home insurance company. Their administrative assistant began to get agitated when I pressed her for the information and continued to refuse to provide how many times their records show they serviced my appliances and what was replaced.

I have had a continuing issue with my refrigerator. It is not cooling and the fridge continues to trip the circuit breaker. I have had this issue multiple times within the past few months, but Amtec Services claims the problem is electrical. I know this is not the case because a replacement fridge was placed in my home so that my guest had a working fridge and there was not one issue with the circuit breaker. On November 30th, the repair technician was very rude to my house guest that was there at the time of the service appointment. The technician took all of the food out of the refrigerator and let it spoil including my guest breast milk without fixing anything and claiming the refrigerator needed to thaw out. As mentioned, Amtec Services has been multiple times and they continue to send technicians that do not speak english and cant properly communicate the issues I am having. They are on retainer from American HomeShield as a part of the home warranty I pay for monthly. This is the only reason they have ever been called to return to my home so many times and not resolving the issue. Since they continue to "repair" and put in work orders for the issue with my refrigerator, I can not get the refund for the new refrigerator that I had to buy in order to have a working refrigerator in my home even though the fridge is clearly malfunctioning and would be covered under my warranty otherwise.

Hello and thank you for bringing this to our attention. A technician was dispatched to address a noncooling issue for the refrigerator. Upon diagnosis a part was found to be faulty. The part was immediately ordered. When our dispatcher called to schedule an appointment for installation of the broken part we were informed that the home owner already purchased a new refrigerator and repairs were no longer necessary.

We informed the home warranty immediately of the matter and shipped the part back to the supplier. The home warranty informed us that they will be providing an option for the refrigerator.  We recommend contacting the home warranty for more information.

This company was hired to work obi American Home Shield. They determined that my dishwasher was not covered from a failed part due to my negligence. The dishwasher is under the counter and i have had no issue until the part broke. They ate in collusion to not pay my claim with American Home Shield

As a contractor engaged by the Home Warranty, our role is to assess specific breakages and determine the causes. However, we do not have the authority to make the final decision regarding coverage application or denial. It is important to note that we can only report what we observe based on the condition and circumstances presented to us.

Due to the damages falling outside the scope of normal wear and tear, the Home Warranty has denied coverage for the repairs. We recommend contacting your Home Warranty to discuss their decision.

Please see attachments for supporting evidence of not normal wear.

The decision was incorrect. The vendor refused to allow me to speak to the contractor no told me how i broke a piece that was mounted under the granite counters.  The contractor made the decision that caused the claim to be denied.  They refused to reinspect. Total failure on their part.  They told me to *** them as they have been in business for 25 years and have done this before.

We understand that you feel the decision your home warranty made is incorrect. Your home warranty has a procedure in place to accommodate such an occurrence. You can request a second opinion to assess the damages to your dishwasher.

As the repair company we report only what we see. We do not make the final determination concerning coverage.

Once again please contact your home warranty with any concerns regarding coverage.
