I hired W-Woodworks to complete work on my property. W-Woodworks bid for the job at $27,000. The work started the week of 11/22/2021. The job should have taken approximately 3 weeks to complete. I have paid a total of $17,666. I complained to the owner about the quality of work numerous times throughout the course of 13 weeks that I had contact with the company. On 02/21/2022, I found out that the work required a permit. I contacted the local permit office and was informed that W-Woodworks was responsible for securing a permit. The owner, Jordan C******** informed me that the permit was not part of the contract and that I would have to secure it and schedule an inspection. When I tried to obtain a permit, I was told by the local permit office that W-Woodworks license did not allow for a job over $24,999 and the permit would deny. They advised me to move forward with the permit in my name so that I could schedule an inspection. The inspection was 03/10/2022 and the work failed inspection. The inspector encouraged me to file a complaint with the BBB. He told me that the structure would not only fail inspection but the quality of work was well below par. I was also told by the local permit office that because W-Woodworks failed to permit the job and bid above their license, that I might have a breach of contract case against W-Woodworks. At this time, I don't plan to file a lawsuit. However, W-Woodworks has threaten me with legal action. At this point, I have to hire another contractor to finish the job so that it will pass inspection. I don't trust W-Woodworks to finish the job. Also, there have been several incidents of angry outburst from Jordan C********. One incident was witnessed by my three children. I do not feel I owe W-Woodworks any more money and I would like to have no further contact with Jordan C********.
