We recently had a house built in ** by Smith Douglas Homes. We reviewed SDH before beginning the process. Reviews seemed good and trustworthy. Our daughter and SIL already had a house built by SDH. Their home seems well-built and solid. We trusted in SDH and the process. The seller rep ******* was knowledgeable and helped us pick out what we think is a beautiful second home for us. We wanted to upgrade some things before signing that everything on the plan was correct. ***** told us no. Now that we are in the home, ***** has gone silent with email questions. Typical of a seller. The construction manager, ******, is CLUELESS about construction and does not pay attention to workmanship or detail, as she allows S*** work to pass (like a lot of stain on the vinyl floors - we have pictures for proof), island countertop not centered, quarter round pieces not flush together or even have enough stain on them to match the cabinets, non-matching vinyl plank in a closet, some damaged floor planks, kitchen cabinet door has damaged area that never got replaced when ****** said it would, a pipe in the master bath that was placed in the foundation OUTSIDE of the wall that originally had like a birdhouse built around it (under the cutout area by the sink) WHO LETS THAT GO ON A NEW BUILD-A BIG INVESTMENT FOR PEOPLE??!! They added two or three layers of drywall on the wall in that area to cover up the construction error, front of the house triangle vented area had one piece spliced together, NOT flush, concrete on the back patio, front porch, garage, and ALL OVER THE DRIVEWAY is broke and or cracked! They put a bandaid on the patio and the garage, left the porch alone, and told us concrete cracks; "we told you." NOTHING DONE ABOUT IT! It is now our problem! ***** was supposed to be our construction manager but ****** was later assigned. Her inexperience left us with s*** work, bandaids, and huge concrete problems! Ask questions, they get mad and BLOW SMOKE! They just want a sell!
