October 2023 forms were submitted to allow Trading Places International to accept one week confirmed accommodations at Club *************************, ****************** in exchange for $699.00, to be paid to us by check 45 days from departure date of the deposited week (April 28, 2024). The contract states "Reimbursement will be issued approximately 45 days after the departure date of the week you have deposited." That date is June 12, 2024.I have had conversations with ***************************, *******, ******* and others requesting payment. *************************, *********************** and ********************* have refused to accept my calls and have refused to return my call regarding the contractual obligation to pay us $699.00. To this date, July 25, 2024, I have not received the check. On July 11, 2024, I received an email from ************* showing an image indicating that a payment #**********-CK had been printed on July 9, 2024, **** assured me that the check would be mailed in a few days. I still have not received the check.Trading Places International and Capital Vacations do not live up to their contracts. I am thoroughly frustrated with trying to work with them over the phone. I pay extra to be a "premiere access" member with certain advertised exchange discounts. When I did an exchange into Lindo Mar today I was told that those benefits do not apply to Lindo Mar exchanges. Why is that? Where is that restriction disclosed? In addition to that I was charged an UPGRADE fee for an October booking in ******. October is low season in ****** and I was also downgrading from a 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom. That strikes me as fraudulent as well. I'd like a return of my "upgrade" fee and a better explanation of what my benefits are as I feel like I was sold something that was falsely advertisedInitial Complaint

I owed Trading places $1554.00 for my annual fees for a resort in Maui ( *************). I paid them directly on 6-15-2023. Without telling me - they refunded my payment and placed me with an aggressive collection agency who is damaging my credit report with a false collection.Business Response

Dear **************,
We apologize for any inconvenience **************** payment was taken on June 15, 2023, and our records show the agent did not see where *************** account was in collections, with that being said, our records show the payment was refunded on June 21, 2023, and a voicemail was left for **************** explaining what had happened, and advising him he would need to reach out to Meridian directly.
At this time **************** will need to contact *************************** directly at ************ and settle his past due account.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I was never told about any collections on 6-15-23 when I paid in full. No one ever called me a week later to discuss any refund.
I have also asked for copies of my original contract stating I agree to collection activity and fees.I would have never purchased my time share if this was the case.
******** told me ONLY Trading Places can remove the collection activity from my profile. I am not repaying anyone the $1554.00 until my credit report dopes not show these shenanigans.
FYI This is now a case with the *** so Trading Places can call me and do the right thing or suffer the consequences of a case with the ***.
Sincerely,

Trading Places International is a scam time share company. I do not recommend this unprofessional, company. Since my father died we contacted a trading places rep in order to pay to give it back to them. Yes they will charge you to give it back, at least with ******* they will take them back with no fee. They havent gotten back to us at all even though we emails almost a month ago. This is not a reputable company and they will keep you trapped with these fees.
