    Midamerican ***** the past couple of times I've tried to pay with my card it takes almost a week to process. It screws up my budgeting because it's so inconsistent. If I choose to pay now you should just take the money. Don't s**** me over by taking it out inconsistently I'm getting sick of it!

    MidAmerican Energy attempted to reach the customer by phone but was unsuccessful. A review of the customers account identified that payments are made using bank account information and not a debit or credit card. An email was sent to the email address on file for the customer explaining the payment processing times for payments made with bank account information. The customer was provided with options for customers that wish to have payments posted to their financial institutions in real-time and contact information was provided if they have additional questions.

    They purposely charge on different days to get more money out of people. The date of my monthly bills is constantly changing. I paid several times in one month and they still say I owe. THIS COMPANY IS CRIMINAL AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

    Phone representatives have insufficient training to effectively convey even the most basic information to customers accurately. Being told that a credit would be applied to your account when they meant a charge would be assessed against the account is a fundamental failure bordering on deception. But since these companies operate monopolies, theyre free to provide incorrect information by accident or lie with the intent to mislead without any consequences. A truly shameful company.

    MidAmerican is always looking for ways to improve interactions with our customers and appreciates the opportunity to address the customer’s concerns. MidAmerican spoke with the customer and addressed the concerns of poor customer service. The customer was advised that opportunities were identified and have been addressed. The customer thanked MidAmerican for the follow-up.

    We go through gas and electric credit union which is THEIR bank. Across the street from their location. Biggest complaint from their own bank and clients is mid american energy is unreliable in their payment methods. It takes 2 weeks to take every time even when you do pay today options. Their corrupt and monopolized. Everyone I know is sick of them. And when their own employees can't stick up for them anymore. It's a problem. They also got rid every place that pays cash straight to them. It's set like this on purpose. And it's been noticed. I hope their corruption days are numbered. Bc we the people don't want them anymore. I wish I could give a negative star. Also after seeing their corruption on taking over green energies and scaming multiple iowa counties (council bluffs for example). While also seeing the lawsuits coming from trying to take advantage after major storms in other states that helped midamerican right before. (Derecho to Texas for example) its a wonder how they have been allowed to continue. Who's pockets is midamerican really in.

    Hard to deal with. They regularly process payments at least 1 week after they are supposed to come out. You set up a payment for say the 14th it won't even attempt to come out until the 24th. If you're like me and live on a small income (im talking an average of $350 a week) 10 days a lot can happen to your bank account. If a payment is set for the 14th it should come out on the 14th not the 24th.

    MidAmerican Energy Company (MidAmerican) appreciates the opportunity to address your concern regarding the amount of time from when a payment was processed on the MidAmerican website to when the payment is withdrawn from the bank account. At this time, MidAmerican does not process payments made from the web site using a real-time payment system. MidAmerican web payments are processed through an Automated Clearing House (ACH) transaction. With the exception of weekends and holidays, MidAmerican periodically transmit payment files throughout the day to the ACH processor. The ACH processor transmits the payment record to the financial institution. The soonest money will be withdrawn from the bank account is the next business day. However, the actual withdraw date is determined by the financial institution.

    MidAmerican accepts many other forms of payment; the following are other options available to customers:
    Credit or Debit – Call Paymentus at 877-253-0147 or pay online by logging in to My Account and choosing the “Pay by Credit | Debit Card” option. Paymentus may charge a processing fee.
    Paymentus accepts:
    Cards branded Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express
    Apple Pay
    Amazon Pay
    Google Pay
    PayPal and PayPal Credit
    Venmo
    Walk-in Payment Locations – Several Western Union locations are authorized to accept MidAmerican Energy payment.
    Payments can also be made at kiosks across our service territory.

    MidAmerican periodically reviews other payment options. Your concern will be forwarded to management for future consideration.

    This monopoly of a power company is power/money hungry.... had car issues, had to take care of them. Past due around 500 and I tell them it will get paid Friday... and they won't turn my power back on till then. Screw you guys. Garbage!! No worries all the food will go bad, ill be charged and re connect fee. Makes sense. Kick em on the nuts while they are already down. Screw u guys.

    According to MidAmerican Energy Companys (MidAmerican)records. The customer contacted ********************** and a payment agreement was established allowing the customer to satisfy the past due balance in monthly installments rather than all at once. Service was restored the same day.

    I owe them money I've been out under covid and now they want to shutdown my electric and it's cold at nights. I can pay them in full in a week but the Representative Tina said she doesn't care. Everything I have will die that means I will files a court document on this because I have expensive fish and everything

    Had a wire/cable hanging down into my yard from an electrical pole. I called them and they sent a contractor out to look at it with the big truck and with a lift on it. He said it wasn't his problem and to call someone else. I called midamerican energy back and they said it wasn't their problem and to call someone else. I directed them to their customer service commitment on their website. Didn't do anything to secure the wire/cable. It's unfortunate too because all it required was to be lifted back up and zip tied. You would have thought I was asking them to move a mountain. Monopolies sure are difficult to deal with as a customer. I don't care if your a monopoly utility company or not. You still have a reputation you have to live with.

    MidAmerican appreciates the opportunity to respond. MidAmerican investigated the customer's report of a low hanging line and identified that the line in question did not belong to MidAmerican, but another utility and that the line did not present a safety hazard to the public. MidAmerican is not authorized to perform service on other utilities. The customer was provided the name of the utility who owned the wire to contact for additional assistance in this matter.
