I will never put Pella windows in my house again!!! I built a home 20 years ago and put all Pella windows in.I have one window that the rolldown screen will not lock in place. I called for a service and they said it would be $225 just to come out , and they cannot guarantee they will have a part to fix it and I would still have to pay the 225. because all these windows have been discontinued and they are no longer making parts for these windows. for probably a $20 part, he advised me to replace the whole window. 1 star rating is too much for this company! replace the whole window, you talk about some BS .

I purchased and had "professionally installed" two Vinyl windows from Pella 6 months before leaving this review. The installation tech said the window was faulty with a broken ballast. I was told a replacement would be out later that week. It took 2 weeks before I heard from anyone. The tech was scheduled to come out 4 weeks after that. The second tech left mid-job due to a family emergency with a promise that his manager would be out to finish the job. I didn't hear from Pella again for a week, when I reached out to them. The third and fourth techs both failed to properly install the ballast without breaking another part of the window. The customer service has been terrrible, never reaching out to me to reschedule, and instead, I've had to reach out to them. When I finally called today, I dealt with a persnickety customer service rep unwilling to hand off the call to someone else, or offer his employee ID number.

The quality isnt what they advertised. I purchased 8 triple pane casement windows with the sound barrier. I questioned right away about the barrier not being so good. We actually took a window and broke the glass to see if the measurements of each layer was correct. Well one was less than advertised. Corporate Pella said they arent doing anything about it because its within margin or error. Really! If they shave off the margin or error on each window I purchased, they made one heck of a profit on my windows. How are they allowed to advertise the thickness of windows when they manufacture windows not to what they advertise. Great scheme, sell triple pane windows and nobody will notice if one layer doesnt measure the correct thickness. Also it took over 3 service visits over a year to finally get a missing crank and correct screens.

2 sets of casement windows installed in *********** Sept. 2022; 3 windows in each. Last minute before installation **** at ********************* came to look at his job (Pella hires independent installers w/no oversight-beware). I asked him about the old window leak in one of them. He said the whole end of my 2 story home would need to have stucco replaced at $15,000. Time was short so signed a contract. I trusted Pella. The job took 3 months to finish because **** never showed up. I became the ******* sending pics to him. A form was handed to me to sign off on half way through from ****'s employee which was detailed re the install on what was done. In hindsight, a Pella rep should have done that, not the customer. I realize now I shouldn't have signed before it was finished. Since the install I have had an inspection and stucco company look at all my Pella windows installed over the last 8 years ($100,000). I was told 'I got taken for $15,000' for the Sept. 2022 new stucco. Didn't need it. Foam on both sets of 2022 windows were installed incorrectly a Pella issue. Would have eventually leaked. I paid to have them repaired. Previous windows ($100,000) had been installed incorrectly. I paid to have them repaired one only 5 years old that had the upper flashing crumpled that allowed rain to come in. Pella wouldn't reimburse me because they weren't under 'warranty' even though less than 10 year guarantee. The inspection discovered 4 window leaks in Sept install. New ones were ordered only to be sent to my previous address from 10 years before and left to sit out in the rain. I refused them. The next set came in a couple of months and were replaced. During the extremely cold weather recently I still have one that leaks. Communication has broken down between KC Pella and me. This is just a small part of extremely poor customer service over the last 16 months from the President down as well as poor window construction. Pella *************************** home don't care anymore.

I spent over ***** dollars to get what I expected to be a superior product and installation. The crew that showed up at the wrong time were inept. The workers left without informing us and left a door with cracks above and below the jamb that you could see light thru. After complaint the sent out a remedial crew that apparently buggered up the door latch and we still have the cracks visible. Im having a hard time locking the door and have a piece of wood in the track for security. Do not deal with this company!!!

Tim K I ordered windows July 5th 2023 it is now December 30th 2023 they still are not in. Most incompetent company i have ever worked with. Salesman measured wrong the backup measurer measured wrong. Windows were too big for the opening. Came and got everything they sent and finely the windows came in December but i'm not sure everything is here. Pella has got their money that is all they care about. Pella tells me the installers will have everything they need but where are the installers. They missed two weeks of really nice weather. Now when I call the number they told me to call and leave a message no one calls back. this company sucks.

2018 purchased expensive double entry doors. 2020 insulation between the doors came off and was repaired under warranty. 2023 insulation (2" piece of glued on plastic) came off again. Now service warranty expired and they say it will take up to 20 days to get the part, service charge in effect or they will mail it to me for a $10 charge. The door without insulation is junk and the insulation they use is cheap garbage. The idea they would charge me money to mail me the part is outrageous and I highly advise that you avoid Pella at all costs. FYI, the serviceman that repasted the original 2" plastic insulating piece had it with him. I told them where to go and got a substitute at the hardware store. Be smart, avoid this company's products.

As an owner of two construction companies I would recommend another brand of window. After the purchase of close to 1000 Pella windows over several years and installing them in my personal home I would not use them again. The windows seem to be decent quality, however the company will not stand behind their product. I've had a leak issue for quite some time. Long story short, after determining the leak is coming from the window (not installation, flashing or siding issue) I phoned Pella. I was told there is a $195 charge for their service tech to verify (since I was out of labor warranty). I explained that I was certain it was the window. Again I was told a service tech was necessary. I paid the $195. The first tech came inspected and said a shipping block was never removed and that was the issue. The shipping block was removed. At the next major rain event the window leaked so badly, it dripped from the second floor to the finished basement ruining the kitchen drywall ceiling and the adjoining wall. Called Pella again, was told another service tech needed to visit. After the tech telling me to caulk it and see if it still leaks, I forcefully explained that my siding contractor water tested the window and identified the location. The tech reinspected and found a crack in the window frame. Pella agreed to supply a new window under warranty. I called to get my $195 back since it was a warranty issue, but was told no. This is the cost for the visit. This is extremely poor customer service and any potential customers should know what to expect once the labor warranty expires.
