The Wright tree services company illegally dumped their waste on my property. They have a general record of lax safety. They also let themselves on my property to make this mess without my permission. Most likely will have to pay someone hundreds of dollars to pick all of this up!!!!

Wright tree service came to my home a little over a year ago. They offered to cut A tree down that was in my backyard as it was close to the powerlines. I was told this was courtesy of SMUD. Unfortunately, The vegetation in my backyard was really high. I recently had the vegetation cut down and noticed that the company left half of the tree in my backyard. I tried locating a number for them and was unable to, so Im filing a complaint and hope that it goes somewhere.

Wright tree service has been doing vegetation management for ************** When they came through my area their crew cut a 30 year old willow **** not authorized to cut. They destroy ** the ****. I contacted the forperson for the crew he assured me I would get a voucher to replace the ****. I has not received said voucher, I have called their corporate office numerous times, all I get is their message machine no return calls.

Our field employees are working with the property manager and the gentleman that lives at the property.  Our field employees explained to them that according to the *** guidelines, a voucher is only given if the tree is removed.  The property owner had stated in a previous conversation that they did not want the tree to be cut down in case it came back so no voucher was given.

At this point, our field employees have explained the process again and it is my understanding that the property owner is going to sign the appropriate documents to have the tree removed.  Once we have received the executed documents, the tree removal will be scheduled.  Once the tree is removed a tree voucher will be issued.

Let me know if you have questions.

The week of March 11th-15th I went to the back of my home to notice the telephone pole our meter sits on was leaning. At the end of February, Wright Tree Service, a subsidiary of Wright Service Corp, was contracted by the ************************* to cut trees around power lines. It is obvious that when the company was cutting trees they have dropped something on the power lines leading to this pole causing the pole to break in the ground, leaving our power lines hanging in trees and pole ready to fall at any time. This will leave us without power and could put us at risk of a home fire with ******************* on the ground. We contacted KUB, they came out and said it was obvious the damage was caused by them and they sent Wright to investigate. Wright has denied the claim with them and states it was not their doing due to a small fallen limb and a ratchet strap we had used to hook the pole to our tractor in hopes of keeping it from falling until it was repaired. Id like to add that the strap was facing the opposite direction in which the pole leans. *************************, with Wright, also added that the propane tank we have outside is dangerous, (the sort you use for a BBQ grill) which is unrelated, but still added it to his denial. This is putting our family and home in danger and while Im meeting here with KUB and Wright today, nothing has been done to ensure our safety. There was no correspondence from Wright with either KUB or me until over a week after making the complaint. It is obvious, per KUB, and the individual Wright sent, that whatever they dropped on the line was disposed of in their wood chipper before they left expeditiously. Unfortunately this wasnt noticed at the moment it happened as my husband works out of town and I have twin infants. I am often unable to go outside without help with my children. I simply want the issue fixed before we are left without power with three children and before we are put at risk of a structure fire.

      Good Afternoon-

Wright Tree Service (WTS) completed a thorough investigation into this complaint and found that service pole was not installed correctly or to code.  There is a strap tied to the meter, electrical wires laying on the ground, the conduit was duct taped and zip tied together and the service pole was leaning. These issues were present before WTS entered the property.  Located approximately 30 feet from the mobile home is a stand of dead trees, one of which is broken out. This is not the area WTS was working.

WTS did remove multiple limbs away from the power lines around the property.  The area WTS was working was a distance from the service pole and the limbs that were removed are not large enough to cause any damage to the mobile home.

Our investigation found that WTS did not damage the property and therefore will not offer to repair/replace the claimed damages.

ITC Holdings contracted Wright Tree Services in July to remove a tree from our property that was dying and at risk of falling on power lines. We were out of town, but our neighbor was watching the house and handling the tree team. The team that showed up didnt realize the job was for a full tree removal and not just a trimming. My neighbor contacted my husband to confirm and my husband spoke to the team to let them know what needed to be done. After the job was done and the team left, our neighbor went to take a look and saw that they only trimmed and did not remove the tree and also that they damaged our patio string lights. We contacted Wright and ITC and found out it was a miscommunication regarding the tree. They let us know Wright would be back out in a couple of weeks to fully remove the tree. Regarding the property damage, Wright claimed they didnt cause the damage despite my neighbor having photos from 5 minutes after their team left our property. When my husband pushed back, Wright accused him of calling his team liars. We let it go and waited for Wright to advise when they would be back out (which never happened). We contacted them recently and Wright said they would come out this week to remove the tree, but that we needed to sign a waiver making them not liable for any damage. We again mentioned the current property damage and they denied causing it, but reluctantly said they would pass this on to their property manager. We will not be signing a waiver because I no longer trust that the company can do the job without causing damage (and I cant imagine the amount of damage theyd cause if they knew they werent liable for it). Weve been dealing with this for 3 months and would like the company to acknowledge their errors, replace our broken lights, and finish the job they were hired by ITC to do.

      Business response

      10/17/2023

It is my understanding that as of October 13, 2023 this issue has been resolved. The tree has been removed.  The property owner agreed for us to leave the wood from the tree on the property.  A gift card was given to the property owner so that they can replace the broken lights.

Wright tree service trimmed the trees along a shared driveway for power lines under duke energy contract. In the process the driveway was damaged in several locations from the use of overweight vehicles and improper surface protection. Ownership and maintenance of the private driveway is shared by me and my neighbor. Concern over damage to the driveway was pointed out to the contractor prior to the tree trimming activities. The damage has made the driveway un-plowable during snow events causing an unsafe condition and a potential for injury. The company was contacted and an unqualified worker visited the site and decided the damage was pre-existing to the work. This is incorrect as witnessed and documented by the shared owners to the driveway. Repairs were requested to be made but denied. We are seeking repairs to the driveway caused by Wright tree service.

Our Project Manager for the are met with ****************** so t hat he could point out the areas of concern.  I have attached the pictures of the areas ********************** pointed out for your review.  We have explained to ****************** that the damage to his drive appears to be old damage.  In the pictures, you can see where the drive has been previously repaired, dirt and weeds are growing in the cracks and the drive is in need of maintenance. Two denial letters have been sent to ****************** explaining our position. Wright Tree Service stands by our denial and will not offer to repair or replace the areas of the drive that ****************** alleges Wright Tree Service damaged.

I am rejecting this response because: The Wright Tree Service managers assessment is incorrect. The damage was not pre-existent to the work performed on the private property. The photos do not identify the crumbled asphalt and fresh chipping and cracking of the concrete areas or the depressions and ruts made by their heavy equipment. Both shared owners of the driveway have witnessed the change in conditions. The driveway does need repair now that the contractor destroyed the integrity. Basically the contractor 's statements regarding our account are defamatory.

      Sincerely,

      Good Afternoon -

On May 14, 2022, Wright Tree Service removed a pine tree that had fallen onto the power lines during a storm that occurred on May 12, 2022.  The tree was roped and rigged.  When the tree was cut, it was lowered to the ground with a controlled fall.  the tree top did touch **************** fence but not enough to even move the fence. No fence slats were broken in the area that the tree was lowered. A claim was submitted to *********** in November, 2022.  Wright Tree Service responded to the claim and met the property owner to inspect the damage.  When we arrived to inspect the damage, the property owners had replaced the part of the fence that they are claiming Wright Tree Service damaged.  We were told 3 4x4 fence posts were broken on the bottom and had to be replaced.  They replaced the posts in September 2022 before submitting a claim.  The posts that were replaced were located 2 fence sections away from the area that Wright Tree Service was working.  There was no damage to the 4x4 posts that were located in the area that Wright Tree Service was working.

The property owners could not provide pictures of the broken 4x4 posts and they had replaced the broken posts before we arrived so Wright Tree Service was not afforded the opportunity to inspect or view the damage to the posts before they were replaced.

Wright Tree Service is not responsible for the damage to the **************** fence and will not be paying to repair the fence.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

      Good Morning -

I received ******************** complaint at the *********** of ***** 28, 2022 and on ***** 30, I emailed **************** to let him know that I had received his complaint and that we would be starting our investigation into the matter.  Wright Tree Service is a vegetation management company contracted with *********** to remove vegetation from around their facilities.

After gathering it was determined that the trees in question were removed in accordance Xcel Energy's Mountain Hazard Tree Program.  Under this program, no permission is needed to trim or remove trees on a property if they are considered a hazard tree.

Wright Tree Service acted within the guidelines of the Excel program and has no obligation to pay **************** for the removal of the trees.

I have included the letter that was sent to **************** explaining our position.

Wrights tree service, came onto my property(8/10/2022)to TRIM a tree back.Due to their lack of knowledge, lack of professionalism, and blatant disregard for the safety of others;they made the decision to cut my tree in HALF instead of TRIMMING it.By doing this, they left a very obvious safety hazard for us to deal with and are now refusing to correct their mistake and just cut the remainder of the tree down.Im terrified to allow my kids/pets to go out there. The tree is now in a position to fall at anytime which will open the door to either my property being damaged or the tree falling on someone. This was not a concern prior to the work they performed.I have been in contact with several people within the company and have personally spoken,in person,to the crew that made the decision. After speaking, face to face, with the ******* yesterday evening (8/11/2022)about our concerns,he came into my yard and looked over the work, took lots of pictures to document the job they did, he apologized and agreed something needed to be done because the tree is now,in fact,in danger of falling. He then promised and assured us that they would be back today(8/12/2022)to correct the terrible work they performed on 8/10/2022.When asked why they decided to cut the tree in half instead of just trimming it,the ******* replied, Well,we cut the branch and it looked stupid so we cut it to the trunk of the tree to make it look better. We were also told that someone from the company would contact us today (8/12/2022) about our concerns. No call was ever made to us or received. My fianc decided to call them and see if he could speak to someone about finding a solution to the issue. He was basically laughed at and told, Well you didnt get any of that in writing, so sorry about your luck. The man he spoke with,*****************************,was extremely rude and completely unprofessional and ended up hanging up on him because he didnt want to deal with the situation. Before and after pics attached.

Wright Tree Service trimmed the tree according to ANSI Standards and to the specification of the utility.  The work was inspected by the utility forester and was approved. After speaking with the Project Manager about this complaint, he spoke with the utility forester and it was approved for Wright Tree Service to remove the tree.  Wright Tree Service removed the tree on August 29, 2022.  The property owner stated that this resolved her issues.

June 14,2022 the day after a storm, Wright tree service asked for permission to enter my backyard to remove a dead tree off the power line in my neighbors yard. I told them they could drop the tree off the lines to get power back on. It had been off for two days. I had to leave and when I returned there was a large boom truck in my backyard. They entered my yard and pushed my gate to the side and rutted my yard from front to back so it is unsafe to walk or mow. The ****** from the tree was left in my yard and the gate was unlatched. Luckily my dog did not get out and get hurt. I contacted them to have the ruts filled in and was told it was an act of nature and they nor *********** was responsible for the repairs to my yard. It was not an act of nature it was the negligence of the tree service boom truck that did the damage. I had just had two 65 foot trees removed from my yard by a professional tree service and they took the very large trees down and haulled away the trees without driving a big boom truck in my yard. That is what I gave permission for not all the damage that was done to my impeccable yard. I would like the ruts filled in, I can live with the dead grass from the engine fluid that drained from the truck but I cannot fix the ruts. My gate has already been pushed back so I can lock it and my good neighbors removed the large pile of ****** from the tree. I live alone and am 73 years old and need to have the ruts filled in. Please help me.Thank you ***********************
