      I recently was scheduled for a brain ***. I had already had to go to several doctor visits related to the issue and decided to call ahead to see what the *** would cost out-of-pocket because it wasn't urgent. I had to make several calls to get an accurate number and was finally told a price and decided I could do it at that time. I showed up and was billed accurately at the time of the appointment. The appointment went very well and the *** was excellent. I received an email requesting that I leave a review for the company, which I did at that time because everything had gone according to what I expected. After leaving the review, I received an unexpected bill through a text message (not an email) indicating that I needed to pay a remaining balance. I called because it felt like a scam to get the bill through a text message, especially when I wasn't expecting a bill. They confirmed there was a remaining balance and when I asked why, they only said that someone told me wrong when I inquired before the ***. This means that they told me wrong before, AND billed me wrong when I first paid. Then, they sent me this additional bill. I just really feels shady. I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to or any other route to plead my case and they did not offer any other options. I'm not seeking to get money back. I just want this practice exposed so that if it's happening to others, it bubbles to the surface and gets addressed.

      Thank you for sharing. We appreciate feedback, both positive and negative, regarding areas of possible improvement. Intermountain Medical Imaging does its best to provide a price quote for clients who request one.Unfortunately, the estimator is only as good as the information we can gather from the insurance companies. We do our best to be as accurate as possible, but these estimates are just that. Estimates. Text message alerts for billing aren't new, but may feel that way for healthcare related services. It is something our outside billing company does utilize. If you are ever in doubt,feel free to visit our website to pay securely through the patient portal. Vigilance is key in this day and age of scammers.
