April 9th around 5/6P.M. I check in to Budget Inn on *************A nice young man helped me check in. Didn't mention any odors of smoke. Didn't ask if I had asthma.Takes 79$ for room 209 and a 50$ cash deposit. Im walking to the room and notice some of the rooms have no smoking signs on the doors and some do not.I enter my room 209 overwhelmed by the smell of tobacco. I thought they had given me a smokers room. I badly needed rest and just dealt with the odor.I wake up around 2am. Walk to the sidewalk of the property before I even light my cigarette and I take an hour long walk. Get back around 3am and rest until 7am.I noticed the trash hadn't been taken out from the last person who stayed in the room. The towels were stained.Floors were disgusting. Just stains **************** mold. What looked like substance residues on the nightstand.I dealt with it. Respected the room. I didn't want to spend the night in what felt like an ashtray. So I smoked outside and off the property.I wake up around 7am and do my morning routine. Walk out to the front desk at 9am. And get immediately yelled at for smoking in the room. When I could see the room the entire time. Nobody went in my room to check. They just rob and repeat.I try to explain kindly that the room already smelled like that when I entered. And the boss said that I smelled like a cigarette when I entered the lobby to check in. I just got out of court. Brand new clothes. Rental car. No odor of smoke. I even went and asked ***** employee who checked me in if I smelled like smoke and he said ***** one even checked the room to see if i could get my deposit back.They gave me a cigarette smelling room. Blamed it on me. And kept my 50$ cash deposit. The Boss lady then proceeds to flip me the middle finger and shake her buttocks at me. I have video.There needs to be some kind of consequences. This was just blatant theft.And to Flip off and shake your buttocks to a customer is just gross.Initial Complaint

I booked a room thru priceline at the budget inn in ***** on september 27th thru 28th.when i got there at 3pm they said they didnt have a clean room ready and id have to wait about an hr. So i did .The room i was in (#***) was nasty. There was bed bugs, the water in the shower did not drain so as i took a shower it all accumulated in the bath tub and eventually drained super slowly. When it was time to check out i went to the front office for my deposit refund and the lady said i forfeited my deposit because i was 1 minute past 11am, which is they're check out time. She asked me if i read the rules on the wall when i booked room. And i did, but nowhere on that paper does it state that if i am 1 min past 11am i will not get my deposit back. Terrible customer service. I want my deposit back and the money i spent on the room. Thank you for your help.Business Response

I'm ******, the front office manager at the Budget Inn. We have it posted on the counter in the lobby right by where the guests have to sign that they agree to our hotel rules and policies and it clearly states your deposit will be forfeited if you check out after 11 am.
There was no complaints of bed bugs until I got the letter in the mail from BBB, we always try to accommodate our guests here so I would've got her a new room if there was bed bugs in that room. If we're not told of a problem, we can't get it fixed in a timely manner.

I found out that my dad had days to live. He is located in *****, ID. I am located in ***********, **. Quickly, my husband and I made plane reservations and hotel reservations. I arrived in *****, and thank my lucky stars, so did a cousin of mine and her husband. They picked me up from the airport and we visited my dad. Next, we decided to check into our hotel rooms. Them at the ************, and me at the Budget Inn. They pulled up at the Budget Inn where the office was and said they would wait for me in the car. Someone was in front of me waiting to find out if they could get their "deposit" back. The associate at the front desk asked if I was checking in. I said yes. He said that there was a. "$50 cash deposit" I needed to provide as well as identification cards for me and my two cousins. Because they were, "On the property". Even after explaining that nothing was said about a cash deposit and my cousins were staying elsewhere, the associate was rude and insisted. Shocked, I left the office and told my cousins. They took me to their hotel where I ended up renting another room. Since my husband booked my Budget Inn room while I was researching flights, he did not get the cancellation fee. But due to Budget Inn's sudden "cash fee" and demanding identification cards of non-lodgers, I believe that we should get our refund. It would also be helpful if you read their reviews. I read them after the fact and I am unsure how this place stays in business. I just want my refund and they need to either make it known that a fifty dollar cash fee is needed (who carries cash??) and that if they see a random person on the property that you might be affiliated with, they will not let you check in until you present their identification card too.Business Response

I am the front office manager at the Budget Inn and we have the right to require a cash deposit and we do not allow visitors on the premises so we have to have id's for anybody that is on the property during check in.

Checked into this hotel on June 16th, 2024 - Asked to check out early on June 28th, 2024. Was advised no refunds for early check out. This hotel was absolutely discus ting but I just cleaned the room before I unpacked. There are fire/safety issues in my room. Smoke alarm missing and wires hanging out. Lamp wire exposed wrapped in tape. These should be investigated by the fire ********. Access panel open under exposed sink. Missing bathroom door and no toilet lid (this is a child safety hazard). I would not have had an issue or reported this but when my front door would not open for the 3rd time and the front desk guy raised his voice at me because my son (who was dropping me off) was standing at the ********** door trying my key. The front desk guy stated that there are absolutely NO visitors. I explained that my son was dropping me off but this guy would not stop and raised his voice. This was unacceptable to me so I decided that because the heater and the air conditioner did not work along with the other issues that I wanted to leave. The hotel said no refunds so I stayed until 6/28/24 even though I had paid up until 6/30/2024.Business Response

I am the front office manager here at The Budget Inn, and with this written response I have included a picture of our hotel policies that we have guest read before they are given their room key. The problems this guest has brought to our attention would have been taken care of if the guest would've have informed myself or my staff when she first arrived. If nobody tells me something is wrong, or broken, or dirty I can't fix it. I would've been more then happy to go up to the guests room and taken care of anything that needed to be taken care of.Initial Complaint

I paid for a room went to get another load of personal items. I left my 15 year old daughter and a friend who was helping me move. Police were called my daughter was accused of prostitution and we were trespassed by police at 11 pm. The owner physically assaulted me as I was trying to video her crazy behavior. January 10th,2024 in the amount of 450. Plus 50 dollar deposit never got back. ****** is the manager and she been stealing customers money from them not returning the money including mine and also there mold on the beds and blood stains and bed bugs she refuses to fix anything she says and tells house keepers I just put two mattress pads on it. Checked in to the Budget Inn, *********************************************************** on August 3, 2023 at approximately 10:00pm. I called earlier to check on the cost and was told $1400.00/mo + $200.00/dep. Upon arriving at the motel I said I was checking in and mentioned the amounts I was given earlier. She said just a moment and went and got the owner who quoted a price of $1500.00/mo + $200.00/dep., I said why? the clerk told me "things change from shift to shift", then the owner screamed at me to find another motel for requesting a ground floor room because I have osteoporosis in both knees and did not want to be around a bunch of guys simply because I'm single and alone. I said "forget it."Upon entering the room it smelled of mold and cigarette smoke, although I asked for a non-smoking room. I started looking around the room and was just aghast so I began taking pictures. I have been sick 3 out of the 5 days I've been checked in at the Budget Inn. I'm convinced it's a combination of the water and mold due to pipes exposed (pictures taken). The toilet will only flush completely after 3x; the shower head is being held on with electric tape; microwave is filthy; carpets are dirty and smelly; electrical outlets exposed; no privacy because the curtains don't have hooks, there's holes in the curtains, and will not stay closed; table tops are stained and dirty as are the face cloths, towels, and bath mat.I'm still here. I'm scheduled to leave September 3, 2023. My father recently passed and needed a place to lay my head until the Estate settles and my father's house sells, then hopefully, I will have money to rent an apartment or house.Initial Complaint

Was discriminated against because of a backback. Clean cut collared shirt and was given another room as soon as i was in the door. Said i couldn't stay there. Same rate twice as small and dirty. Today June 3rd I purchased a room for the night at the Budget Inn. Upon checking in I found the room to be an unsatisfactory condition. There were lights missing from the socket in amenities that were shown online that were not there.Upon discovering the missing lights I went into the office to inquire about fixing these issues. The owner was extremely rude to me and said that she was on the phone and asked me to come back.I wrote down a list of the things that I noticed about the room that we're not up to standard satisfaction , and I went to my vehicle to get and a piece of paper and pen of my own as I had written this on the back of a business card for Budget Inn.When I entered the office again the owner immediately said to me to back off at which point I asked her if she had gotten my list on the back of the card. She told me that she had taken it and to get out of her office. At this time I requested to no longer stay in the room as I felt this was a hostile transaction.Instead of inquiring into and resolving my concerns the staff including the manager that showed up today were more concerned with not refunding the $100 that I had paid for the room then resolving the simple and minor issues that the room had.I notified The Establishment that I would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau contacting our local news station as well as suing them in small claims court. The manager replied that this isn't the first time that this has happened and a call to the police by me also confirmed this notion. I checked into the room at about 4:30 p.m. and left the premises at about 6:15 p.m. with only my $50 deposit in hand while the budget in kept the $100 paid for the room.
