Horizon Pwr was horrible. They quoted one price then at the end gave a totally different price. They stated we could return the panels if not satisfied with the system then stated it would be a 3500 dollar restock fee before they would do anything. the people that came in to do the install were dirty and left metal a debris everywhere. The manager that came out when I refused to sign the contract due to the higher price was very pushy and not friendly. This all happened in 2002. Then it took forever to get the system to start up. Once up the biggest sales point was for me to have power when the power went out. Nope that was another broken promise. So just run from this company. They are dishonest and not trustworthy. We had Horizon Power install solar panels back in 2020. We noticed a panel was only working 1/2% in fall of 2023. We started calling Horizon Power to come and fix the panel. They sent someone out in Spring of 2024. They climbed onto the roof and took pictures and then left. We never heard from them for a month so we called them again. They said they lost the pictures so we bugged them enough that they sent another person out. That person climbed on the roof again and took pictures. Before he left he told me that the panel was rusting and needed to be replaced. He left and we never heard from the company. So we started trying to contact the company for another couple months. We have tried several times to speak to someone anad now we can't get anyone to call us back or email us. When we call their number we can't even leave a message. After Further research we have found that maybe the company is no longer in buisness, how do we find out about this company and if we can get retribution.Initial Complaint

We were sold solar in July of 2023, the company came promptly to put the panels on our roof and then disappeared without a trace. no further contact, and did not finish installation. We reached out multiple times and heard nothing. Finally we found on the website that they had gone out of business. They did not file a single permit with the power company or the city to install the solar. We have had to file all permits and pay all the permit fees that we have already paid horizon for. And we still can't get ahold of anyone in the company to take care of things.Initial Complaint

We had solar powers installed by Horizon Power a few years ago, and within about a year half of them stopped working. The business refuses to return our calls or emails. It looks like the business no longer serves our area in ****, ******, but does still exist, only in *****. We financed the solar panels through ************************* and they have been paid in full for the panels. Other solar panel companies will not service these panels to get them to work. We either need them repaired, or refunded so that we can go with another company. We have been overpaying for our electricity for at least 6 months.Initial Complaint

I almost gave Horizon Solar Credit, even though to get my solar power online I had to contact them several times. I was a little disappointed when the installation was considered finished when they only installed the brackets and not the solar Panels themselves. /But the biggest issue is that I received a lien in February and Horizon said they would take care of the issue and keep me up to date. Now we are 6 months later and I received a second **** saying if the amount is not paid within one week I will have a lien on my house and it will go to foreclosure. So now I will have to pay the amount of $6500, since I do not trust Horizon to actually resolve this issue. I have had no updates from them and then the lawyer from ********* has also said he has not been able to reach Horizon *********** to try and resolve this issue. All in all, this is negligence to pay their supplier, and then to update their customers on how they are handling the situation. I wish for horizon to make this right with everyone, but I don't trust they will.Initial Complaint

My husband (who passed away in 2023) purchased a solar system from Horizon Power in 2021. At the time we were told they would be opening an office in **** as they are based in *****. About a month ago I received an email from Enphase (the solar panel manufacturer) that many of the microprocessors in our system were not communicating. I have called Horizon Power MULTIPLE times and the ONLY person I have talked to is the receptionist. No one has returned any of my calls. An Enphase employee helped me to determine that there is a problem with the panels, not the breakers. We paid over $70,000 for this system and half of it is down, not working. The only other aolar power company here in **** who works with Enphase will NOT work on a system that they didnt install. I am SO FRUSTRATED! Cant believe their complete lack of customer service. They were certainly happy to take our money but are not honoring the 10 year service agreement that was part of the contract. Please help !! I just dont know what to do!!Initial Complaint

Horizon had a local electric company install our solar system and backup battery in January 2020. First year we had no battery backup after many emails and phone calls multiple electricians were sent out and said battery was no good. Finally after a year a solar person was sent and discovered battery was never properly connected. Our system routinely goes down and after threatening with a lawyer they send someone out and get it up and running again. Usually lasts about a month or two then down again. June 6th this year it went down and a new solar specialist was sent and advised our inverter was faulty and does not have the capacity to handle our home. Horizon was notified by him of this and as of August ****** our system is still down and cannot get a response by email and no one seems to want to answer the phone. So now we have a 360 month solar payment and electric bill We have reached the point where we just want them to take their equipment off our property and return us to where we were before we got it. .Initial Complaint

System went live in 2023. Immediately, during power up 2 of the 3 PV's burnt out and the system was not operational. It took a week to get Horizon Power out to fix it. Let's advance to June of 2024, 2 of the 3 PV's burnt out again. System only producing 20 ***** but the inverter is errored out. The smell of electrical fire coming from the inverter. This time, the backup battery failed as well causing no power to the circuits utilizing the battery. Currently I have an extension cord to a plug not on the battery to keep the Refrigerator on a reliable plug.. Inverter shows error 7000. Horizon Power pulled out of **************, so they are not honoring the warranty with no resolution for the repair. It is now mid July of 2024. Also to note, one of the workers fell through my upstairs ceiling destroying it and loosing insulation that was never replaced. Called other Solar companies to see if it can be fixed or removed. Other local companies will not touch it. I guess I need to take a different path on this.Initial Complaint

Finally got my first bill for the winter following installation in November, the first season that was supposed to "pay for itself" per the sales representative. If anything cost has gone far above anything I was paying for previously, as now in addition to the $200 electric bill (around $350~ per month by March) I'm also paying the cost of the panels at $288 per month. First red flag with this company was when their installation crew called to ask if they could please install the wrong panels, as the ones I was told I'd be receiving "didn't make it in time, so they'd brought the wrong ones anyways." After two minutes of research, finding out that the efficiency, and value, of the proposed replacement was far less than what was in our agreement, I refused and said the week or two to get them in stock would have to work. They called back day after next to say they magically got them in, so installation would start immediately. After installation, roof was bent in certain places. Stay far away from this shady company that will save you absolutely nothing on your bills.Update: So now that it's been one calendar year, I can say the production of the system is at 10.3kWh vs the 11.3kWh from the contract, I have 20 panels installed on the roof vs the 21 that was in the contract, and I still have the texts asking if they could install silver instead of black because they didn't have the ones I ordered in stock. Nothing about "racking."Additionally, instead of the $12k they promised I'd get as the tax benefit, it carries over to next year. The issue with this is, the loan company expects that money so that the monthly payment on the panels stays at $288 instead of going up to $488 after 17 months. When the salesman said "even if you don't get the full $12k to send them, whatever amount you do get back will still make your payments stay the same" which was apparently incorrect. They misrepresented their product and production of their product as well as the financing. they also pulled my electrical panel out and put in a smaller panel, with two less circuts and now my panel is a hazard. The cover is bulging out because the wires will no longer fit inside and the door won't stay on. They did not seal around it either so now water gets in behind it and is going to damage my wall. I have called and they refuse to call me back. From the time they started it took 5 months for them to finish what I was told would only take one week at the most. My biggest concern is the safety of my home.
