Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a complaint against Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) regarding a billing issue for an Automated Whole-Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) procedure performed on September 15, 2023. My primary care doctor assured me that the procedure would be covered as preventive care, but I received a $582 bill because it was incorrectly billed as diagnostic. I have written confirmation of this assurance from my doctor via *******.Despite my efforts to resolve this issue with NCH, including multiple communications with the doctors office manager, the problem remains unresolved, and the invoice has been sent to a collection agency. This situation has jeopardized my excellent credit score of ************************************************I seek your assistance in rectifying this matter and ensuring that the erroneous charge is corrected. Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.Sincerely,***************

On 2/22/24 I delivered my children via c- section at this hospital. Following their delivery, they were in the **** until 3/12/24. Beginning at my transfer to this hospital, until weeks after their discharge, there were nonstop issues with the care that we received. While in the **** we were subjected to the doctors' egregious bedside manner. My daughter was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition in which none of the doctors had any information to share regarding treatment or next steps. We were told that they were at a level III ****, but upon admission we learned that they did not have any specialists in the hospital or with privileges that could consult. As parents, we were incredibly concerned and scared for our child. Instead of being offered compassion, we were subjected to our child getting pictures taken of her privates without our consent or knowledge by **************. Without knowing that I was nearby hearing her speak to a nurse, she stated that she was excited to be able to share the pictures at a conference and that she was looking forward to seeing all of the stages of her rash while she was in the ****. When our concerns were brought to the manager of the ****, she rolled her eyes numerous times while on the phone with my husband. Following their discharge from the ****, we have been facing multiple other problems. We have been receiving bills for both babies that continuously have been billed to insurance incorrectly. I have called several times to have the issue resolved but it has continued to be billed incorrectly. The hospital is refusing to send me any documentation stating that I have been trying to resolve this issue and I am receiving past due/ final notice bills regularly. I called patient advocacy on 7/3/24 and was informed that an investigation would be performed and I would hear back within a week with an update but I have not been contacted and my call has not been returned.

My doctor prescribed a test that he wanted me to get and he informed me that insurance would not cover and that it would be $75. I did not have the finances to pay the $75 so NCH told me to call the financial aid department. Financial aid told me to have the $75 billed to ******* and then they would cover it. So I proceeded to have the test done and I had the $75 billed to Mychart. I called financial aid again to have them cover the money that was owed on my chart and they informed me that they only help with amounts over $150. Financial aid knew it was not over $150 but yet on a recorded phone call they told me to bill it to MYchart and that they would cover it. I spoke with a supervisor from Financial aid department and she said that she completed her investigation and that they were not going to cover it. Even though by them saying they could cover it on a recorded phone call is legally binding

On 2/7/2024 *********************************, a cardiologist with the Northwest Community Hospital performed an unsuccessful oblation on my wife. After many promises, my wife ended up with unsuccessful procedure that failed and $70K+ in bills from the hospital. The insurance company covered most of it but the *** (*********************************) are trying to collect the remainder of $5,412.38 and a separate amount of $1,244.12. This amount is not being being covered by insurance. I am filing a separate complaint about this doctor and his promises/practice to the appropriate ******** agencies but I would like your help in resolving the medical bills. I strongly believe they cannot collect these funds and this is considered surprise billing. This is further amplified by the fact that the procedure was a fail.

I ended up at the hospital very sick with my boyfriend. This was out of state as I live in *********. I forgot my insurance card while I was there but gave them my correct home address in the event they needed to send me a form for the insurance in which they did and I filled it out correctly. I have witnesses to all of this information. The hospital billed me for their portion of the bill correctly and went through my insurance with no issues. This is where the problem comes in is that they never sent my correct information to CEP. I have no idea the bill for CEP even existed or the other company that did the bloodwork billing. I paid the company out of pocket for the bloodwork as they had no problem getting in touch with me but for some reason CEP did and I thought they were a scam. They sent me to collections with Wakefield and Associates. It's now been months trying to resolve this issue in which I may now be responsible for the entire bill because they didn't send the correct information to CEP and the emotional implications for the last months dealing with this. I am extremely angry with how the hospital never gave my correct information and now I am going through months of this trying to get this resolved and it's still in review as my insurance couldn't do anything about it because it's been so long.

My daughter was evaluated for stomach pain in the emergency room. The emergency room doctor told us that they could not help us at the hospital and would need to transfer ** to another hospital. She said they would be sending us by ambulance paid for by the hospital. It was not our choice to have an ambulance we were going to leave and go to the other hospital and she said to not worry they would pay for it. We are currently being charged by the ambulance company called Superior ambulance service snd the hospital is claiming no responsibility. We were told something and now we are responsible for something that was not our choice snd not supposed to be our responsibility.

I am filing a formal complaint against:Dr. *************************** License: ********* On Monday, January 16, 2023, at 3:15pm, I received a voicemail from Dr. ******* ******************* containing extremely personal medical information with no phone number to call her back nor any reason why she left me such a detailed message. I do not understand why she called me, how she got my personal medical information, how or why she is looking at my personal medical file, or what her intentions are in reaching out to me. All indications are that this is a fraud.I have never heard of, nor seen this doctor in my life and have never consented to such personal information being discussed about me, especially left on someones voicemail which is a clear HIPAA violation. I have spent an incredible amount of time calling every hospital in Cook and surrounding counties trying to get ahold Dr. *************************** and nobody knows who she is or why she would have contacted me, let alone leaving such a detailed personal and confidential information on my voicemail. Again, I have never consented to her accessing my personal files and do not know what fraud, if any, that she may possibly be instigating by doing so.As I am unable to contact Dr. ******* ******************* and nearly every phone number affiliated with her online is invalid, I am using Northwest Community Healthcare/Hospitals address as a point of contact. This is NOT a complaint against Northwest Community Healthcare/Hospital. This is just the first result regarding her that displays in ******* I just need a VALID address and VALID phone number that she is affiliated with to file all of the complaints. Full complaint is truncated due to limited characters. Please contact me for more info.

Last night 12/29/2022 my brother was in a car accident that was not his fault and was rushed to NorthWest Community hospital in ***************** . My brother was in intense pain and was diagnosed with a foot fracture . The administration told him that the guy that hit my brother had no insurance and my brother will be held responsible for the hospital charges . My brother *** , who was just in a traumatic accident was enraged when they were telling this to him before they even gave him any pain medication. I picked him up from the ** and the terrible staff let him leave in pain with *********** . I am horrified that trained medical professionals would allow this to happen to a person in pain . I think your nurses need to be retrained because they are burnt out and insensitive.
