              Received a notice from a debt collector for $94.44 for the Daily Herald suburban newspaper. I paid for a year's subscription from May 13, 2023 through May 13, 2024. I received a bill in March 2024 for a year and the price had doubled. I called them on 3/8/24 and told them I wasn't paying that and don't want the paper any longer, let it run out. Subsequently, I received a 2nd notice in May and two more bills after that, the last one marked final notice. Today, 7/15/24, I got a letter from a debt collector that I owe the Daily Herald $94.44 for a subscription to a paper that ran out 2 months ago. This is outrageous and unacceptable practice on the part of the Daily Herald. I've subscribed to the paper for 30 years and to receive this notice after I told them I didn't want it any longer is bad bad business. My mother worked for the Herald for 50 years and our family were friends with the founders of the Herald, ************ Paddock.

              I was contacted by Daily ***** in July last year, I paid ****** as I was quoted for 1 year of delivery service, They set me a bill for ******. I sent ****** as I was quoted. The first day of this agreement that I received the newspaper was August 1st. I wrote down the date. They sent me a bill for ****** for services 0f 5-17-2024 to 5-16-2025.. I am paid up unto to Aug 1st. They are now saying the bill was ****** I should of paid that amount, That was not my agreement. They pull figures out of the air. I am a senior. Not sure what they are pulling here. But this is totally unacceptable.********************* ******************************************** 224-650-130

              ****************, we apologize for your experience regarding your billing issue. Thank you for responding via your BBB submission alerting us to your dissatisfaction. The Daily Herald apologizes for any inconvenience we may have caused. The price increase renewal invoice you incurred should have been timed for the end of your 52-week promotion, not during your term. We have credited/adjusted your account to once again reflect your original offer, with your last day of delivery 7/31/24.Note you will receive a renewal invoice a couple of weeks prior to 7/31/24, and we hope you reconsider and remain a Daily Herald reader. Otherwise, as stated, delivery will cease as of 8/1/24. Also, we have reviewed or programming of price increase renewals to assure this does not occur further.
