I have been with this company for 2 years, and for the most part, we have been fine with them. The guys that came to pick up are nice. The reason for the 1 star is the lack of customer relations. They do not care about you or your problems. If they miss a pickup, they will either try to charge you for being unable to get access (while we have camera proof of them lying about being here at the time they claim) or schedule a new date but do not notify you of the change. I will be moving to another company that actually cares about their customers.Review from Jackie J

Unsatisfactory.Wont come get their bins after we cancelled contract at term end.Still keep billing me although no longer providing service.Ive called tens of times. They just keep putting in tickets for some other department that dont get resolved, just get closed.I do not recommend unless you want a headache!Review from AJ P

Do not do business with this company. They tell you that after you sign up your monthly rate can be lowered removing services if you no longer need them. Instead they tried to charge me just as much and just remove the amount of deliveries. I tried to explain that we haven't used the service enough to warrant the amount and requested management call me. Instead I get an email saying this is your only option. They have no customer service at all! Not worth it, stay away! I thought I was signing up with a company that cared about people and businesses, but all they care about is ripping you off and taking all your money.Review from Christina L

Shred-It is the worst customer service I've experienced in my entire career. Their staff's only response to any issue is that all they can do is submit a ticket...even when you advise them that there already have submitted several tickets, they are like robots and can only state that they will submit another ticket to escalate your issue. However, no one ever reaches out to resolve the issue or completes any of the tickets. I would not recommend doing business with them as they charge for services, which they do not render.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company Response

They never come on the scheduled time or date, we have gone a month without service and no reason was given -you just get transferred to a million different "managers" - you cannot speak to local office -you get a different " manager" each time, and a different reference number that goes nowhere. You can email and call over and over again and your issue will never get resolved - horrible customer service and they didn't even care that we were taking our business elsewhere! There are other shredding companies available in ********** such as ************************! Check them out they are a family owned business. Total Harassment Experience with Shred-it I had an extremely frustrating experience with Shred-it that I feel compelled to share. Unfortunately, I have been subjected to ongoing harassment that has severely affected my peace of mind and my day to day ************* the beginning they were ok, I think they were sold several times and the company that governs their actions is more than just a cluster mess. Ever since I cancelled and paid in full my invoices I now receive unwanted calls, aggressive communication, or threatening emails. Despite my efforts to resolve this by reaching out to their customer service multiple times, the harassment continued without any resolution.The lack of accountability and support from Shred-it is concerning. I expected a reputable company to handle customer interactions with professionalism and respect, but this was not my experience.I caution others to be aware of the potential for harassment when dealing with Shred-it. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I strongly simply do not do business with this company but if you choose to or are already working with them I recommend documenting all interactions and seeking assistance from professionals or consumer advocacy groups.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company Response

PSA!! We began service with Stericycle Shred-it in May 2024. I am giving them a one star rating because a zero star is not an option. Like several others, we should have read all of the terrible reviews prior to selecting this company. However, they appeared very promising during our initial telephone conversations. Please reconsider your options if you are thinking about using them now or in the future. It is a complete shame that a National company like Stericycle Shred-it operates in the manner they do and there is no accountability at all. We are currently in a contract with them until May of next year. They service two separate business locations for us in Alabama. They were very accommodating, cooperative, pleasant and extremely gung-ho until they got the Agreements signed and sealed. The rest of our experience(s) have been a TOTAL ONGOING NIGHTMARE. We are currently "battling" with Stericycle Shred-it and have consistently gone back and forth with their assigned sales rep, regional rep and multiple customer service reps via email and telephone for over 6+ months. It has been very stressful, nerve-wracking, traumatic, taxing and overall grueling process! They agreed to specific pricing and pick-up schedule at the start of our contract(s). However, they have not performed either service correctly, have refused to correct/update the monthly billing and pick-up schedule and they do not respond in a timely manner, if at all, unless you threaten them. After signing my contract I was told that I would be contacted in advance to set up a date of pick up. I was out of the office the day that they called to say that they would be there that day. The truck picked up, and one of my employees asked if he needed to sign anything. The driver told him that he did not. The very next day, someone from Shred-It scheduling called to SCHEDULE MY PICK UP. I told him that they picked up the day before. This now got me curious as to whether the truck and driver that picked up was legitimate or fraudulent. I called my CS Rep and told him this story. He emailed me a "proof of service document". There was a forged signature on the document that did not belong to any of my employees. My CS rep was supposed to look into this further and provide me with a certificate of destruction. That didn't happen. I called back and asked for his manager. My CS rep emailed me his Manager's email address, but did not/would not give me a phone number. I emailed the manager twice asking for a call and proof of destruction. NO response from the manager -- extremely unprofessional. I have the license plate and unit # of the truck that picked up my boxes. I would like to talk with someone in Safety or Risk Management to verify that this truck is actually a Shred-It truck. The only numbers that I can find are toll free numbers to CS or the 630 number posted on this website. The 630# rings until it just finally cuts off...no one answers the number. I am feeling very uneasy about who has our information that contains personal critical information. I won't use them again.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company Response

Shred-it (Stericycle), in ********* at least , is not built to assist small businesses. Their workflows for customer service calls (outsourced) and account management are terrible with little to no local customer service help. I would highly recommend not using Shred-it for your small to medium sized business. We've had bins ready for pick up for months. No ability to schedule a pick up through our account. Hidden fees. Billed for twice the amount agreed upon. I've made multiple phone calls, emails and claims. Each time, it is a different person, and I start over at the beginning, because they can't see a previous claim. Auto-generated emails are sent with links to the resolution of the claim, but nothing is there. We are getting collection notices, but still have the bins for the one-time pick up service, and we are being charged for services we didn't request.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company Response
