Shred it was great until Stericycle bought them.This is the worst customer service ********************** and is handled by people who barely speak ********** bill is $42.87 but the surcharge is $17.26 They charge you even when they don't provide the service.They are horrible. Unbelievable. I have no idea how Shred-It stays in business. The service level is nothing greater than a 0. After over a week to get a hold of someone and was scheduled for two different service days by 2 different people, I finally accepted the scheduled date for Monday, March 31, 2025 at 9:00am. No one has shown up & no call from anyone. I have made five attempts to call the company and I continually get hung up on. Do not send an apology as that is what you have done for the other multiple reviews. It appears your customer service has not improved.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

I would give it a 0 stars, if that was an option. They just charged me $393.19 for a service that was never delivered. No shredding EVER occurred because of extremely poor communication between this company and the customer. Do not EVER use this **********************.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

197 reviews with 1.02 stars should tell you everything you need to know about this company. I have never worked with a more incompetent vendor. It isn't just the representatives but also the drivers, dispatch, and account representatives. There is always a miscommunication and they always point fingers at one another. In a span of one year, I have had well over 20 cases open and dozens of phone calls. It is like talking to a brick wall. Representatives are NOT allowed to give you the name of your account representative as well as their contact information. So I am constantly having to call and speak to random people who open more cases and "take notes" which I highly doubt happens because they always seem unaware of what is happening.They miss pick-up dates daily despite the email reminders confirming the date. They show up whenever they feel like it and charge when we aren't available because they didn't inform us that they were coming. They don't honor any of the contracts signed for special pick-up dates. They have been overcharging our account for 2 years and the issue is still not solved because the people in charge of billing are conveniently never available. At one point I was given the contact information for the person who handles my site. He promised me he would make things right and there would be no issues moving forward. After 2 months, that went to c*** He won't answer my emails and when he does he is extremely vague and rude. I consider myself a relatively calm and understanding person. I would never go out of my way to be aggressive towards someone. However, I have been in yelling matches with these people due to the constant frustration. I have refused to get off the phone until I receive answers or speak to a supervisor which rarely leads anywhere. I would never recommend this vendor to anyone including my worst enemy. Consider this a zero star review. We have been contracted with Shred-It for multiple years and it has been a nightmare since the start. The customer service is a monstrosity. No matter how many times you call, how many notes they put on your account, nobody ever knows what is going on. Over the past 3 years, they have consistently not followed our pick up instructions and they either don't show, or show up and mark us closed and still charge us. I did an audit of the billing over the last year, because we were on auto pay and found that we had been improperly charged based on our contract, even though we had called multiple times to get charges corrected. When they don't service us, they still charge. Over the past THREE MONTHS I have spent nearly 15+ hours getting to the bottom of our charging issues where they have overcharged us almost $1,400. To say that we are disappointed in the service is a SEVERE understatement. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

If I could give a 0 star, I would this is the absolutely the WORST company. They NEVER came to pick up during the 2 years I was in business. I even scheduled appointments, and they didn't show. They are continuing to charge me even though I have been closed since the end of November. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE so don't even try!!!Shred-It, a Stericycle Company

1 starThis is the absolute worst service and customer service I have had working with another company. When we signed the contract, the sales lady said we could just call them when we needed them because we didn't need them every month. This was not the case, but of course, we haven't seen or heard from her ever again. No one at the office seems to care that this is what we were told. This company will show up when we have gone on the portal and asked them not to. Twice they have showed either after hours or on a day they were not scheduled to come and charged us $119 each time despite providing no services. We first tried to explain this to them, but they didn't seem to care. We have tried and tried to cancel the contract to no avail. Be extremely cautious when signing a contract as they will require a 5 year contract. Then they provide terrible service and have no empathy when you try to reach some sort of a reasonable solution. Just an absolute terrible company to work with. I would encourage everyone to give your business to other companies. I've listed two other companies below for your convenience. 1 starI have been with this company for 2 years, and for the most part, we have been fine with them. The guys that came to pick up are nice. The reason for the 1 star is the lack of customer relations. They do not care about you or your problems. If they miss a pickup, they will either try to charge you for being unable to get access (while we have camera proof of them lying about being here at the time they claim) or schedule a new date but do not notify you of the change. 1 starDo not do business with this company. They tell you that after you sign up your monthly rate can be lowered removing services if you no longer need them. Instead they tried to charge me just as much and just remove the amount of deliveries. I tried to explain that we haven't used the service enough to warrant the amount and requested management call me. Instead I get an email saying this is your only option. They have no customer service at all! Not worth it, stay away! I thought I was signing up with a company that cared about people and businesses, but all they care about is ripping you off and taking all your money.
