The rates have DOUBLED since COVID and the agents still claim the rates are going up bc of COVID discounts. Clean driving record no accidents at all and my rate has DOUBLED since the end of COVID. IT is not bc we are "driving more" either. 25+ years with state farm and they have never increased rates like this in a short time. ITS EVERYONE not just me. They are forcing retirees to sell their car and drop insurance. state farm is "too big to fail." They get bailouts from Dems I hope Mr. Orange takes them down!!!!!

Indianapolis: Would leave zero stars if it were an option. It’s fascinating that this company hasn’t been sued into oblivion yet. I understand that an insurance adjusters’ job is to find reasons NOT to approve claims, but this company is ABSURD. First of all, I’m pretty sure their “adjusters” are subcontracted, and the one I most recently dealt with was a mess, was rude, dismissive, and I’m almost certain he was stoned during his so-called “inspection”. The amount they approved for the damages to this roof would be laughable if it weren’t so insulting. Do yourself a favor; if you’re shopping for insurance providers, AVOID STATE FARM LIKE THE PLAGUE. If you are already a State Farm customer, cut your losses and RUN to another provider. What this company does should qualify as fraud.

The only reason I check marked a single star is because it will not accept no stars as a review! “Like a good neighbor…” what a pathetic joke! Our house plumbing under the kitchen sink sprung a small leak. Because of the position of the leak we did not detect it until the next day due to water coming up from under our wood flooring. Called a plumber, had to do dryout services and repair to drywall, cabinets, etc. long story short state farm refuses to cover the claim. They state that they are not responsible for covering plumbing that may potentially leak? Isn’t that the whole concept behind insurance? To insure you if there are problems? Hired an adjuster to mediate on our behalf and got 2nd opinions by other plumbers but to no avail. state farm refuses to even consider the claim or any coverage! So why am I paying them to “cover me” when they won’t actually cover me in a traumatic event? Worst insurance company in the history of insurance companies! I guess they need the money to pay all of their high maintenance spokespeople?! They sure throw their clients under the bus when they need them most!

I can’t believe State Farm wants to continue to drag our claim on! It been almost 10 months of us not using half of our house because they won’t reimburse us for what we paid for mitigation, won’t pay us for what our contractor wants to fix our house, and doesn’t want to pay for the belongings that our son with autism lost! All they keep showingg is bad faith and break our contract all the time without ever giving us a denial! Never use State Farm! They don’t care about state or federal law or your contact because they will break them and not care at all. They have also used X******** for our estimate even though they won’t change the line item amounts even though the closes zip code area they can use is over two hours away from where the home is. This means they broke the license agreement they have with X******** as well!

We had filed claim for hail damage to our roof. While State Farm covered the claim after they decided to drop our policy. Been a customer for 28 years. They had counted recent claim activity when I inquired about coverage for my basement ceiling even when it was deemed not covered. Apparently your not supposed to use the policy they write.

I am appalled by State Farm’s conduct and complete disregard for basic consumer rights and privacy. They sent a third-party inspector to my property—without a proper appointment—who performed a shallow, unprofessional inspection. No attic check, no roof climb, yet they falsely concluded that my roof needed replacement. What’s far worse: State Farm shared this inaccurate report with L********* Consumer Center without my knowledge or consent. I was never informed that my private property data would be reported to a third-party database, potentially affecting my insurance standing and consumer record. This is not just unethical—it’s a blatant violation of privacy and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. State Farm has shown a shocking lack of transparency, accountability, and respect for its customers. I would strongly advise others to think twice before trusting this company with your home, your data, or your peace of mind.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my recent experience attempting to insure an engagement ring through a Personal Articles Policy with State Farm. Over the course of several months, I have received repeated piecemeal requests from my State Farm agent and their team for additional information about the ring, specifically regarding the cut and clarity of smaller stones. Despite providing all available documentation from K** ******** (the original seller), I was repeatedly sent back to the jeweler, who confirmed they had already given me all the details available. At no point was I provided with a complete list of underwriting requirements up front, which resulted in a drawn-out, inefficient, and frustrating process. I ultimately requested that the policy be canceled and a refund issued. The agent's response made no effort to retain my business or express concern about the experience, and instead reiterated that canceling the policy meant the item would no longer be insured. It was only after I mentioned filing a complaint and switching agents that I received an apology, along with a statement distancing the agent from the underwriting team’s requirements. My issue is not with the underwriting guidelines themselves but with the lack of proactive communication, poor customer service, and general lack of accountability throughout this process. What should have been a straightforward process turned into a months-long ordeal due to disorganization and a lack of support from my agent’s office. I am now seeking insurance coverage for the ring elsewhere and am considering transferring my other policies away from State Farm as well. I hope you will take this feedback seriously, both to review how customer experiences like mine are handled and to improve transparency around documentation expectations.

Received a letter saying they WOULD NOT renew my auto insurance in April 2025. March - April coverage was drafted from my bank account ($479.00) March 14, 2025. Called and canceled all coverages March 19, 2025 and requested a prorated refund as stated on their website. State Farm called me around the 21st to verify my cancellation of all coverages including the hospital indemnity - which i did. I was refunded $208 in May 2025. Because my wife and daughter were on the policy for "hospital Indemnity" State Farm denied refunding any of those funds because my wife and daughter did not call state farm "directly" to cancel. In a fight with them now for the other $260+

They failed to cancel my auto pay when I changed insurance companies, even after requesting cancellation by phone and email. When I requested that they refund my money they told me there was nothing they could do until after my current policy was canceled 2 weeks from now, even though my current policy was already paid in full and I was not renewing any future policies. In addition, they don’t return phone calls or messages of you request a manager, they will simply “put in a note” for you. They are very nice and polite when they want your money but when they actually have to do something, good luck. Make no mistake, you are paying a marketing company, not an insurance company.
