I brought my vehicle to the Meadowdale Garage at *********************** for repair. Without notifying me, he took my car inside to diagnose it and claimed the issue was the drive belt tensioner. I purchased the necessary parts (tensioner and belt) and provided them to him.The next day, he charged me $254.87 and claimed the car was repaired. However, upon starting the vehicle, I heard squealing noises from the belts. He assured me the noise would resolve within a day, but it persisted. I returned, and he claimed the drive belt idler pulley needed replacement. Without my authorization, he purchased the part and claimed the issue was fixed, but it was not.Later, he stated the tensioner needed to be replaced with a different type. I purchased another tensioner and returned on January 10. He charged me an additional $265, claiming the issue was resolved. Upon inspection the next morning, I found the drive belt was misaligned. When I returned again, the shop charged $58 for labor but did not fix the problem.Despite spending $530, my car remains in the same condition, with the original issue unresolved. The mechanic refused to guarantee repairs at no additional cost and made unauthorized purchases. I have disputed the second payment with my credit card company and seek a full refund of $****** from the first invoice as no meaningful work was ******* car remains unsafe to drive, risking steering power and brakes due to the mechanics failure to resolve the issue. This is a serious risk to both myself and other passengers on the road. This would be a direct result of the mechanic failing to fix the issues while falsely claiming they have been resolved. I have attached itemized receipts to support my claim.I am seeking a full refund of ****** for the unfinished service. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Business Response

customer diagnose his car he came to us asking to install his parts I advice him that it will be better is he let us diagnose his van, he responded that he was a mechanic and knew what was wrong so he wanted us to install his parts because it was to cold to work outside. we install his parts and advice him that was not the problem why the serpentine belt was coming off. and that there will be no warranty because the parts where not supplied by us
4 week later he comes back and says the same problem happend again and he wanted the tensioner to be replace once again suppling his parts we told him that part that he was bringing in was not the correct one for the application and once again he told me he is a mechanic and he just needs the part to be replace.
i told him ok but there is no warranty at all he replay just change them i am a mechanic.
2 week after this he call screaming at me on the phone, I ask him to stop and he kept talking screeming and insulting me so i hang up the phone I was not to take his insults

I am rejecting this response because:First of all, my initial inquiry was on December 24, 2024. After the issue was not resolved, I returned on January 10, 2025, as reflected in my receipts I attached previously. This contradicts the timeline you have claimed as it has only been a little over 2 weeks.
As a professional, it is your responsibility to diagnose issues correctly. In this case, the problem persisted despite the service. The claim you made about me purchasing all the parts is false. I was charged for an Accessory Drive Belt Idler Pulley, which was purchased without my authorization - as shown in the itemized invoice. In that case, I am demanding a warranty since you bought the part. As a mechanic, you are required to take ownership for your services and the consequences for misdiagnosing the problem.
Ultimately, I went to a different mechanic after this ordeal who correctly diagnosed and resolved the issue. I demand a full refund of $265.90 from the first invoice, as no meaningful work was completed and false claims have been made.
Sincerely,
*** *****Initial Complaint

On 5/21/24 i went to Meadowdale Performance Garage to see if i could get a flat tire replaced. I was met with kindness and great salesmanship. We discussed that since neither I or he had the part to remove the lugnuts properly, that he could destroy the rim to get it off, and put on a new tire.I had asked him for a new tire, but he said he had none in stock and that he could order one for my car. I said that would be great, and then we agreed to wait for the parts to come in. In the meantime i would use the spare so he put that on, but it was missing both a stud and a lug nut. so he said since he didnt have those either that he'd include them with the tire when it came in, making the entire process complete. Or so i thought.the only way to recieve invoice was via Email, since his printer was "out of paper." 5 days went by since then, and on the 3rd after not receiving the invoice, we had called him daily and had no response at all. So, not knowing what i paid for ($300 dollar charge when we agreed on 160 for tire replacement and 20 for parts, 180 total,) I disputed the charges with my bank. Now, right after disputing charges i finally received a call saying my parts were there. I went in, and was pressed immediately about the dispute, saying that if i dont pay right now the cops would arrive and arrest me. Now i must be clear here, im speaking on my own behalf and behalf of my mother, who had paid for the services for me, since i had no money at the time. So her money was affected, we had an incomplete job, PAID for said incomplete job, and then threatened with police unless we gave in and gave them the $300 and didn't get any parts. (including the rim i had went in with, which i never gave permission for them to keep.) I've went in several times, and it gets aggravating but i don't want to raise pressure, but each time ive been denied my parts or threatened, gaslit and ************** okay with paying an hourly fee, not when the jobs incomplete.Initial Complaint

DO NOT TRUST THEM! SCAM ??. I brought my 2014 ***** Traverse in several times to have a specific check engine light issue fixed. It would shut down my engine, say engine power reduced, service stabilitrak, etc. I trusted ******** (owner) when he said wheel bearings were the problem and I paid him $703.49. A couple months later and the issue remainded and got worse and was potentially fatal. My car turned off on several occasions with my 4 daughters in the car!!! I brought it back to him several times to fix the problem, each time he told me nothing was wrong, even when I brought him the printed out code from auto zone. In addition to that, he charged me $265 to change one headlight. The other one went out a week later and ********** replaced it in 5mins for $42. I didnt even get out of my car. The last time I brought it in was 6/21/23. Im a single mother that was scammed for being trustworthy. Stay away!!!Business Response

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to *************
The problem that we corrected back in Dec 14 of 2022 was an issue un related to current problem
the head light replacement was charged according to ******* 1 estimating system where part of the bumper/grill assembly needs to be removed to gain access to reach the light bulb and replace it. (one side is a lot easier that the other side)
and finally the issue with the vehicle quiting. there are no codes in the memory because ************* clears them as soon as light goes on as her own narative of the promblem, I had ask no to do soo but she does, she told me what the codes were when she connects her code reader, but no codes are present when the car was been at my shop. 3 times for this issue (never charger for time spend on diagnosis), I had road tested the vehicle in many occations but it had not acted on me, there for I dont have a way to start checking what the problem is, also the time where ************* can leave her vehicle with us is limited due to her work hrs and days off.
By the way I had been in bussness for way over 40 years my Techs are experience and certifed we know what we are doing but if a car is not accting up when the car is here specialy with computer control issues it is extremly hard to repair it.
I am very sorry and I express it to *************, that we had not find the issue /problem with her vehicle
