My 5 years 10 months cat was admitted to MedVet as a transfer from VEG, for ongoing respiratory issues and new onset wobbliness. Prior x-rays done at ************************ and VEG indicated the need for an ***, and I was given hope that MedVet could do the *** the following day. Next day, the doctor treating my cat ****************** went over the risks associated with an *** including the risk of my cat dying due to anesthesia complications, but then again the need to do the *** to rule out lung cancer for which my cat would need surgery, so again anesthesia, and again the risk of dying. I never accepted the possibility that my cat had cancer and that he could die because other than being overweight, he was a pretty healthy cat until two months prior. After a lengthy conversation with ******************, we agreed on a more conservative approach to rule out other diseases first using regular blood draw, and to do an ultrasound of my cats lungs instead of an ***. I specifically insisted NOT to do any biopsy due to the risk of sepsis despite being on antibiotics my cat had a fever, elevated WBC and low Platelet count.Guess what: they did biopsies on my cat without my permission and they did not tell me anything about it. They probably thought that I will not notice it. My regular veterinarian at ************************ accidentally disclosed/confirmed that to me when I reported noticing some puncture wounds after we came home from MedVet. I wonder what else they did to my cat behind closed doors. The cancer diagnosis was never confirmed due to inadequate sample size and two weeks later my cat died from sepsis despite being treated with antibiotics and steroids. I deeply regret that I trusted ****************** and MedVet. If you love your pet DO NOT go to MedVet; they treat pets like guinea pigs and you end up paying for the harm they did to your pet. I will never forget this horrible experience.

Do not even take your pet there, first of all, MAYBE, unless he got Shot, Stabbed, or Hit by a Car., because you will be waiting for more than 3 hours for ANYONE to even do a pre-exam, or someone to come out and talk to you about what is going on. MedVet, unfortunately, your wait time is horrible. I left after sitting there for 3 hours for nothing, my cat sitting in his carrier for more than 3 hours for nothing, sick and I called off work because I was concerned with my cat in the first place. I hope I never have to go there for anything regarding my pet again.

Brought my 3 mos old yorkypoo because he started throwing up and having diarrhea so after 2k in test and blood work they sent us home and said he was having parasite(worms) issue that mightve not cleared up with his first vaccinations they put him on meds and from the Very next day of the meds I could tell it had nothing to do with that and still was very lethargic, getting weaker by the hours, not eating to the point I was forcing water with a droplet and decided this was not right 2 days after initial vet visit. I take him in, tell them hes getting worst and that they need to put him on Iv and recheck their blood work and I have no problem paying the cost of keeping him over night. They ask if resuscitation is needed its a 800 charge I tell them yes ok. Apparently that mustve ****** the dr off. Because 20 minutes after them taking him in they call me into a room saying he went to cardiac arrest and need a 2nd permission to perform cpr/resuscitation services. Because it will be ***************************************************************************** if he went under if I approved a charge to resuscitate AT CHECK IN. And how in the bleep does my dog go from breathing at my house. To dying at the vet20 minutes in. Sad to say my little boy ****** did not make it. I wouldve rather them reacted and not given me my dog back until I paid if that was the worry. Even though they had my CC info from the visit 2 days ago. Im am sad and heartbroken. But my anger for such treatment is beyond wordsbeyond. 2 different drs at completely different times of the day. DO NOT TAKE YOUR SMALL ********. SUre the staff might like your pet. But the Drs that actually treat these animals are pretty scummy. I couldve kept him at home and self treating him and I promise you he wouldve held on through the night or atleast not perished alone on some $hitty dr ***** that wouldnt perform life saving methods to a animal in need in front of his face in their clinic

My cat's care took place during the pandemic. She got into some lilies, not eating them, just had some pollen on her fur and nostril area. I was unsure if she inhaled the pollen or not. These flowers are poisonous to animals so I took her in emergency to Medvet on **********.During the pandemic, customers were not allowed inside so a tech would retrieve the pets from the owners. Owners wait in their cars for a phone call from the vet. We waited for over eight hours for this call. The vet called provided their care plan to have our cat stay overnight for observation. I asked for the cost, over $2,000 for one night! This was just an attempt to extort money from vulnerable customers. I told them no thank you, I will take my pet to my regular vet. It took them almost an hour to get my cat after that call while I viewed four employees chatting and laughing not doing any work in the front area of the office during the entire time I waited. So unprofessional. I call three more times to get my cat and they finally brought her out with a cone on her head because they said she was attempting to bite while she was being checked. My cat has NOT ever bit my regular vet and or their techs in her 15 years of care. If they are careless with their work, meaning not doing any, they are careless with the animals there too. I wonder what they did to provoke my gentle scared cat for her to bite.I do NOT recommend them and strongly advise pet owners to research emergency vets while their pets are healthy so that you have that info handy. You may have to drive out of the city for that quality emergency care. However it would be worth it without the price gouging, unprofessional behavior and lack of quality care and attention to the client.

My dog was admitted to Medvet yesterday. When I spoke with the emergency doctor I was told I can bring my dog's food over since he was staying overnight. I mentioned he can only have beef and I have him on a freeze dried raw beef diet. I also had pill pockets I brought that contain no chicken. The reason he is on a single source protein diet is because the neurologist at Medvet years ago treated my dog when he had Meningitis and the only thing that cured him was putting him on a single source protein diet. This is why I was so adamant about providing my own food. Today when I picked him up I noticed none of the food I provided was administered and none of the pill pockets I sent were used. The tech (who continued to roll his eyes at me) told me the nurse made the decision to use the Medvet food and had no idea what was in it but they wanted to give him a ***** diet. No one called me yesterday to tell me this. They just did it. Had I known, I would have asked for the list of ingredients before it was administered as he can only have beef. He also has severe GI issues and this is why this particular diet is so important. So, after I picked him up today he has had diarrhea and I had to give him a metronidazole to stop it (checked with my regular vet that OK'd this). He also had caked on/dry p*** and a very messy **** when I picked him up which means he was having diarrhea all night until I got him today. I am furious! Why was this allowed to happen when I brought his food and told the doctor how important this was? Also, I was given liquid gabapentin without any syringes so I had to contact my regular vet to get them as how was I supposed to administer without a syringe? For emergency services (not only is Medvet extremely expensive but they are so rude and obviously could care less about their clients) I will go to Veterinary Emergency Group moving forward.

We took our Choc **************** 276 to walk in the door. They did an ultra sound on the liver for $648 and ran the bill up to ****. They weren't supposed to put her under but did anyway. They were supposed to give her medication and never did . We tried calling them 4 times never got a phone call back and never received a diagnosis They wanted up to do a biopsy for **** as they want to see what was causing the liver change but would help to treat our dog. WE felt they just wanted to experiment on our pet and drive up their bill. I WOULD NEVER TAKE MY PET THERE AGAIN , THEY TREAT ANIMALS HORRIBLY! This business should be investigated by the OH Attorney General for price gouging. I will never patronize this business again nor recommend it to anyone
