    I just got a letter in the mail from *********************************************** claiming I owe them $77 because theyre collecting on behalf of *** tax agency or whatever but this is bogus because I always pay my taxes and I never got a letter from NYS tax agency claiming I was audited or anything I only get a letter from *********************************************** this has got to be fraudulent

    Our records show that New York State placed an account for Mr. ***** with our office for collection on November 28, 2024. As Ms. ******* is aware, this account is related to unpaid income taxes for the 2021 tax year. Please note that Mr. ***** did not dispute the debt or request information regarding his account prior to filing this complaint. As a result, we were unable to address this situation previously.

    Please note that our office is not authorized to waive unpaid income taxes owed to the **************. Accordingly, the balance of Mr. ****** account will remain due and owing until paid in full.     Law firm sent me a collections letter from the State of **********************************. There is no such division of the State of ********. I tried calling the state of ********, but there is no department. This is a scam company trying to get money from businesses.

    We are in receipt of your complaint dated December 6, 2024 pertaining to the above-captioned matter. We have had an opportunity to review the file and feel that there is an amicable resolution.  

    Our records show that the State of Maryland, Central Collection Unit (Maryland CCU) placed an account for ******* Periodontics & Implant Dentistry with our office for collection on November 6, 2024. As an initial matter, Harris & Harris****** is a duly licensed and fully compliant collection agency that has been retained to collect debts on behalf of the ************.

    Upon receipt of the complaint, we immediately removed the business phone number from our system and placed a courtesy hold on the account. Please note that Mr. ******** did not dispute the debt or request information regarding his account prior to filing this complaint. As a result, we were unable to address this situation previously. However, we have reached out to ************ to request that they provide additional information regarding the account. We will promptly forward that information to Mr. ******** as soon as we receive it.

    This company has called me all hours of the day and night 24/7 from multiple different numbers. I have no outstanding debt owed to my healthcare providers and paid through my insurance app directly. Harris &Harris is not updating their system and will not stop calling. They never have even provided any proof of debt still owed or on how they got my information. Only spamming calls and voicemails constantly. Since this started a few weeks ago, I have received a huge influx in spam texts and calls and emails in addition to their harassment. It seems like my data / info is now leaked to scammers ever since *********************************************** began contacting me.

    We are in receipt of your complaint dated December 5, 2024 pertaining to the above-captioned matter. We have had an opportunity to review the file and feel that there is an amicable resolution.

    Our records show that **************************** placed two (2) accounts for Ms. ******* with our office for collection between November 16, 2024, and December 1, 2024.  Validation notices for these accounts were mailed to her between November 20, 2024, and December 5, 2024.

    As an initial matter, prior to initiating any call, our collection system analyzes the consumers address and phone number area code to ensure that calls are not placed before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. local time at the consumers location. Our office did not place any calls to Ms. ******* before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. Furthermore, our office is fully compliant with telephone call frequency restrictions. Our records clearly show that we did not place more than four (4) phone calls to Ms. ******* within any 7-day period.

    Please note that Ms. ******* did not request that we stop sending text messages prior to filing this complaint, so we were unable to address this situation previously. Upon receipt of Ms. ******** complaint, our office added her phone number to our permanent internal Do-Not-Call list.Accordingly, our office will no longer contact her at that number.

    Notwithstanding the foregoing, upon receipt of Ms. ******** complaint, our office added her phone number ending in 9813 to our permanent internal Do-Not-Call list. Accordingly, our office will no longer contact her at that number. We hope this clarifies the issue raised and apologize for any inconvenience this misunderstanding may have caused.

    I am filing a complaint against *********************************************** for mishandling my account and failing to properly verify debts. I am a victim of fraud, and despite my efforts to resolve the matter, ***********************************************' response has been inadequate.On September 17, 2024, I contacted ******* about a collection notice linked to an address I have never lived at44 *****************************. I have never resided in ****, *******. The representative confirmed that there was no record of my account being sent to collections and transferred me to Comcasts security team. After providing both my account number and the collection account number, the security team confirmed a payment was made under an account number not associated with me. The representative assured me the incident was noted, and my phone numbers would be removed from the incorrect address.However, on November 11, 2024, I received a call from ***********************************************, demanding payment for the same account. I explained that Ive never lived at the listed address. The representative said the account was opened between February and March, a period when I was at my current address. I expressed concerns about providing personal information again, as ******* had not communicated my prior call. The representative transferred me to Comcasts security team, where I was asked for the same details, but they could not explain why no notes had been recorded or why the issue remained unresolved.Later, I visited ***********************************************' website to request proof of the debt but received no response.Its clear that *********************************************** does not take proper steps to verify debts before pursuing collection. Their failure to address the issue has caused unnecessary stress and damage to my credit. I request the BBB investigate this matter, the fraudulent collection and address information be removed from all three of my credit reports, and that I receive details on who opened the account using my information so I may pursue legal action.

    In July 2024 the ******************************* referred an alleged unpaid tax liability to *********************************************** (H&H) for collection. I have received 3 notices from H&H, all with differing "Total Amount Due". When I received the first notice in July 2024, I wrote a letter to H&H noting several inaccuracies and discrepancies in the notice. I also asked that all communications be in writing (letter or email) and not by telephone calls from H&H agents. I have written 6 letters to H&H, aside from 2 additional notices, I have received no response. I received more than a dozen phone calls in JUL-SEP, and an additional 9 in ********** A payment I sent on 30 SEP has not cleared through my checking account. In each letter I asked H&H for a detailed accounting of this issue; I have not received ***** last letter and the most recent notice I received from H&H are attached.
