Very difficult to deal with. 1st they made my husband's 90 day waiting period 120 days. Fought that for 6 mos. He is in a *************** send room & board invoice & continuous monthly resident form (CMR). I have copies of what has been sent. 1 week they say CMR not recv'd but invoice was. Facility faxes CMR AGAIN! 2 weeks later I'm told *** recv'd but not R&B invoice. This went on for months. No one said the same thing. Always a different story for 6 long mo. I was told I called too much. I told them if they actually did their job I would not have to call so much! Finally I looked up the CEO name, phone #, Ins Commissioner for Illinois name address, phone #, & local TV station near their address. CEO doesn't listen to complaints. Spoke with his right hand person who turned me over to her left hand man. I sent him copies of what had been faxed each month. ************** Eventually I got the $$$ they owed me. They continually refused to acknowledge the fact that they recv'd the correct documents month after month. I recv'd a certified letter from the boss saying a problem would not have existed if the correct forms were sent each month. Hello! I sent the emails of the docs & the fax confirmation page for every month since my husband went in the facility!! My next step if I have another problem is to call the Ins Commissioner. I let them know I had the name, *************** # of both the Ins ******************** local TV station. When I mentioned the names they knew I had done my research. I let them know their service to two 30 year policyholders, not one but two, was the inexcusable. Yes I got my money. They refused to pay the taxes I had to pay to take the money out of our 401k. But at least I got my money and they have paid every month since, so far. They need to be investigated! All of these comments about the same issues apparently have gone unnoticed. I urge every policyholder screwed by this company to contact the Ins Commissioner *** *********.

My experience as the daughter of my 96 year old mother echoes all previous complaints. No stars for this horrible company. Spent 11 months trying to get reimbursed, with them telling me something was "missing" every time I called. Countless hours, countless phone calls. Even the salesman that SOLD my mom the policy couldn't make headway. My mom paid ***** dollars over 17 or so years. She will not see a dime of it.

My *********** enrolled in CNA long term insurance in 1997. They kept increasing their rates and we lowered the benefits to keep the insurance & keep the policy. My husband had dementia and we requested help in 2022 and were denied. This year after 4 trips to the *** we filed a claim in July of this year - they have still not approved us and he died on September 6 of this year. Not a ***** in benefits after paying them for 27 years!!! The company is deceitful & VERY difficult to deal with. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

If you are a consumer and are researching CNA to purchase a long term care insurance plan, heed my advice and DO NOT choose CNA. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. My mother has been paying her premium for decades and now needs long term care. She has been receiving care since Feb 2024 and has not been reimbursed yet, It is now August, I have spoken with at least 20 different representatives who have given me erroneous or conflicting information that has cost my mother thousands of dollars that will never be reimbursed, I couldn't be more dissatisfied with CNA and the lack of information they provide their customers. I spoke with four representatives today and finally landed on one who was seemingly honest and competent. She told me new information that will delay reimbursement even longer, I feel sorry for seniors and senior spouses who have to **** through this muck on their own. I can imagine it becomes so frustrating or fruitless that they eventually give up. Good thing my mom has a relentless daughter.

Raised rates again 1/1/2024. They say they sent a letter. May 31, 2024 received a letter dated 5/1/2024 saying Long ********* policy would be canceled in 35 days if shortfall (2 Increased payments not made by 6/6).They do not take payments over the phone. They do not take check free. Payment must be paid or policy canceled. They suggest overnight mail. With their pro-cancelation policy I don't expect it to arrive on time. Best estimate We have paid $18-20K toward a Long ********* Policy and now that we may need it (Wife has MS, I have CKD and diabetes), they want us gone.

My father set up a long-term care through these people and he paid monthly quarterly payments and now since he has passed on he's died we've sent all the information in like the death certificate and everything else to go with it they still hasn't had the reimbursement of the money he's they're giving back to us they put it in a check as a state of my father we don't have an estate to get the money we have to go to a notary to sign for an affidavit or go to the courts and get something out of the Court so we can get the money we cannot cash the check because they put it into the estate of my father we don't have an estate. And they're pretty clever because they have 6 months from the month is issue to cash it now they said we could open an estate account in amount for my father that which has passed on they're giving us the runaround all I want is them to cash it out in my mother's name all this situation is causing havoc on my family and it is not right what they're doing to us I will never have these people for life insurance ever again.

CNA is the worst. Once your parents need to collect it takes months in my case 2 1/2 years for claim to be approved and am still awaiting payment. The mounds of paperwork that needs to be provided is insane!! If you switch nursing home facilities, the process starts all over again...ugh How is this company still in business...not regulated obviously. Also, interesting that they keep switching states to find less regulation. Beware before buying a Long Term Policy with CNA!!!! Was is a zero rating not available?

They do everything possible not to allow a claim, and once you have established a claim they attempt not to make (or delay) payments based on flimsy excuses. I can't count the number of calls I have had to make to get them to meet their obligations. If an elderly person doesn't have someone to take care of this for them, they almost certainly would not be able to get their claim completed and get payments there after.

They are currently stealing money from my personal account after my father passed ***** and will not refund. They send you in circles and no supervisors to be found. The lady I spoke with apologized and said they told us to say this I'm so sorry. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I will be filing a small claims lawsuit to hopefully get my money back. I'm not holding my breath. Just awful and my poor dad spent his life working for them. No loyalty and are steeling from me now.

Both parents have a CNA individual long term care policy. The claim for my mother took many months of jumping through hoops, submitting (and re-submitting forms because "we did not receive it (despite having FAX confirmations that the form was, in fact, received)). Finally, after many calls, the claim was paid. Now, dealing with the same thing for my father. This company is trash. If you are in the position to file a claim, my advice is to call regularly to ensure that the claim is moving forward. Their MO is to delay as long as possible.
