I was reading my credit report and a Loan from *Transform credit* is on my report and I have not now or ever heard of this business until it showed up on my report. The loan was not me and when I look up the site to dispute and get it removed the only form of contact I get is an email address. There is no listed number to call. Experian state that my address was furnished to them by this company....I have never had any business dealings with this company and they obviously stole my IDENTITY.Business Response

I recently did an online application for a loan with 'Transform Credit" during the process I discovered they were no forthright with details about the process. A $5.00 deduction occurred with my bank acct. That resulted in a negative acct. balance. I informed them via emails to reverse the acct. transaction and close and cancel the acct. and don't send me further emails. These events occurred between 10/18/24 and 10/21/24.Business Response

I never have taken a loan from them. They said my application was approved with a co-signer. I didn't need the money at the time after working doubles and it showed up on my credit report. I received an email today that $5 was going to be taken from my account for a ********************** Builder account. I do not know anything about this and clicked on the link that showed I have been paying $5 a month since April 2024. I did not authorize this and don't understand what it even is. I found the original email that shows my signature, though it is typed. Firstly, I'd like to emphasize the distinction between an initial application inquiry and a finalized, disbursed loan. When your information was used in an application on our platform, it was only for an initial inquiry, a preliminary step in the loan application process. This step is distinctly different from a completed loan application or an approved and disbursed loan.
In your case, this process served its purpose effectively. The issuance of the documentation about the initial application inquiry prompted you to contact us, thereby allowing us to clarify that no knowledge of this application inquiry should be executed in your name. As such, there has been no financial impact or obligation incurred on your part.
Furthermore, had the initial inquiry been progressed, it would have been halted in its steps because of our aforementioned verification checks that would have been required (which are there to protect us both). Those steps were only not completed here because the application simply never got that far.
Once again, your concerns are valid but we assure you that no wrong-doing has taken place on the part of Transform Credit and no contract has been entered in your name, nor would it have.
However, as somebody did use your information on our platform, we recommend you lock your credit file to protect yourself from this activity with other organizations in the future. Furthermore, we are happy to cooperate in any further efforts or investigations that you take to uncover the person(s) that used your information without your knowledge.

If they did video with them it was not me a still said it was approved a sent me the amount I would have to pay monthly. So this company even doing videos to make sure its the individual was still moving forward on a fraudulent account, also they stated if they did move forward it was stopped because of me contacting the BBB. So again a settlement is needed from this company because of there negligence letting it get as far as being approved.

Firstly, it's important to clarify that we offer two different products; loans up to $10,000 with a co-signer and CreditBuilder which is a small loan that is held on our customer's behalf where customers make monthly interest payments, building up their credit history.
We'd like to confirm that our records indicate an application was made on 9/7/2024, under the details matching those you've provided in this BBB complaint, including your name, email address, and contact number. We have a thorough application process to help prevent fraudulent applications, and at the time of the application, we had no information to suggest that this was fraudulent. As part of this application, a page would've been reached where the Credit Builder product was explained and offered, and sign up was chosen.
After signing up, we immediately sent you a Welcome to Transform CreditBuilder! email, confirming your account, and further explaining the benefits of the product you had opted into. I can see this was sent to you at 10:16:49 AM on 9/7/2024, to ************************* the same email you have used when logging this complaint. The email also provided you with your login link, so you could access your account and manage/cancel it, at any time, even before the first payment.
However, based on the email that you sent us to report that you did not submit an application with us, your CreditBuilder account and loan application have been canceled, we have taken additional steps to protect your information, and we can confirm that you hold no liability to Transform Credit. As previously mentioned, this cosigner loan application did not move past the initial inquiry stage. No contract verification was completed for this application, and no loan was disbursed to the applicant.

On October 5, 2024 I received 2 emails from Transform Credit saying I agreed to cosign for a $3,000 loan for someone named ********* The first email was from an ***** and attached a Guaranty and Indemnity document and a copy of the Promissory Note. I didn't open the attachments. The second email was from a ***** asking me to finish submitting my details so the loan process can continue. This is a fraudulent application. I do not know anyone named ********* I have not agreed to cosign a loan for this person or anyone else. Please contact Transform Credit to put a stop to this asap.
