This medical practice has been quite disappointing. The sole doctor there rarely provides meaningful treatment. Instead, he often simply refers patients to other clinics that do not accept their insurance, which is highly inconvenient. The doctor also struggles to communicate clearly and seems to frequently go on tangents about negative topics, rather than focusing on the patient's concerns. Most troublingly, the doctor has claimed he lacks the expertise to perform basic dental procedures like root canals and wisdom teeth fillings, which calls into question his qualifications. It is concerning that he is the only provider available at this practice, as that suggests a lack of staffing or oversight. My daughter and I have both experienced being referred elsewhere multiple times, which has been very frustrating. I would strongly recommend that the practice consider hiring additional qualified providers and improving the quality of care and customer service provided to patients. Addressing these issues could make a significant difference in the patient experience.

I recently had a disappointing appointment at Chatham Dental Care. I am a caregiver of the last of my immediate relatives. After they pass I am all alone, something that causes tremendous emotional distress. I honestly never thought about it but I was asked for a contact number. My heart raced because the day was here. I had no emergency contact or anyone I could truthfully use. I held my initial tears back trying to explain. I was only in for a cleaning but they declined service. I wasn’t allowed to express my issue. A lady in the lobby whispered to just lie, I was frozen with the truth of my new reality. I didn’t feel like lying, the truth should have been enough. I am single and had no one to bare the weight of my emergency care. The front desk worker was condescending because she couldn’t understand that some people don’t have an emergency contact or alternative person in their lives. After asking several times for help, I blew my stack as I stated briskly “everyone is gone, DEAD “ now my tears began to flow as I feared. A welling of emotions I have successfully avoided. The doctor never came out or addressed the issue, he cancelled the appointment. I was able to talk to another employee who thoroughly understood once I explained the situation. He spoke with the doctor who STILL refused to address the matter or care. They gave me a referral in the most dismissive way imaginable. I even apologized to smooth things over but they were completely out of line. As a customer I felt disregarded, disrespected, and ignored. My situation was unique I admit but it happens. Imagine if I was an immigrant would they deny service? Immigrants rarely have support systems. I currently don’t have a support system and Chatham Dental Care doesn’t have the cultural competence or empathy to understand. I don’t recommend Dr. James Orrington due to his lack of professionalism and basic due diligence.

I understand community dentistry can be tough but my experience has not been great at Chatham Dental. First encounter calling the office is a headache the young lady is nice nasty her initial inclination is to be rude and ***** and then shell switch to fairly nice. We had a 4pm appointment. We arrive about 3:55 and dont get to the back until 5:10pm. We do X-rays and the doctor ****** come in until 5:33pm. He only cleans the boys teeth because at this point were late for their karate class. He ****** examine their teeth he just quickly brush them and didnt use any tools to look into their month. I had to ask about cavities and he just said no cavities without truly looking and flossing them. I had to reschedule my appointment for Friday at 1pm. I get there at 12:40, I was immediately told to sit down and I wait til 1:26 when the receptionist comes to the door and say all yall come with me. She sits us in our rooms and begins to give everyone an X-Ray. I approach her and asked, if she could call the doctor for me since I dont need an x-ray and I have an appointment. She tells me she cannot because I have three people in front of me, even though I had an appointment. I asked the other receptionist if the doctor was able to speak to me, she kept saying when he goes to the back to see you. I said how can I talk to him. She directed me to an email.I was hoping this was going to be our home dental place. Unfortunately I have to find a better, professional and more efficient location. Plus I was already frustrated from hearing the one with the ponytail tone and rudeness on the phone with another client. She boldly announced that she put her on hold because she didnt know what time she was available and she dont have time for that. That was the most unprofessional thing I have ever overheard.

This was the worst dental experience I have EVER encountered. The doctors were very rude. While waiting to been seen, I overheard the one of the dentist say that he was a millionaire from a invention and didnt need the patient money because he asked him a question. Then when he came to see me and my children he start having a conversation with his assistant about tv shows called Snowfall and BelAir. Therefore I interrupted him about my childs missing bracket replacement and he told me that he was talking to his assistant and I needed to wait. When I told him this was very unprofessional of him, he got mad and did rushed work on my childs mouth. After this I asked for a refund because I didnt want him to see my other child, he payed me back in cash when I payed with my credit card. This made me very suspicious. He really doesnt need to be in business he could careless about the people.
