My name is *************************** and Im filing the complaint on behalf of my mother, ****************************. ********************* (my sister) contacted Angies List in September 2021 to get a referral for a handyman. She selected HandyMo, LLC. ***** received a quote from him on September 21, 2021 for $3,800. The invoice # is ****. Payment terms were $1,200 down, materials to start. The rest to be paid after finishing the job (deck with ramp). Per the invoice, the work to be done were these items: Tear down existing porch Haul it away old materials Rebuild the deck, adding a ramp Removal, dumping, rebuild, stain, materials were not included in the price. She hired him to do a project for our elderly mother (****************************), who lost right leg below the knee. Shes in a wheelchair and needed a ramp so that she can enter and exit her house on her own. She was 89 at the time. **************** home address is *************************************************************. HandyMos name is ********. I dont know if this is his first name or last name, but its the only name he provided. HandyMo began work during the first week of October 2021, and the $1,200 was paid in cash. I do not know if he pulled any permits. I also dont have a business license for him. I couldnt find any business license for this contractor in the Secretary of State website or ********* website.The job was completed in the first week of October, 2021 and the remaining $2,600 was paid in cash. However, the quality of work was poor as he did a terrible job! My complaints: The *********** are shaking and loose/wobbly. The railings have disconnected from the posts. The ramp is dangerously high. So much so that my mother cant use it. Therefore, she has to have Senior Assist, which is when the fire department personnel help her to leave her house, because the ramp is dangerous and unsteady. I have a video & still photos showing the ramp, which was done with shoddy workmanship. Unprofessional!
